Hey Joe, Your EPS explained video is great ... its helping me to train my brain into grasping how an electrical and mechanical system combines into giving me power steering... I have just bought a 2008 Suzuki SX 4 grip motor. Its power steering was working until last night when i was forced to ford flooded roads to navigate my way home after some torrential rain. I have spent a bit of time trying to find the PS controller with little joy so far. I am interested to hear if you think that any sensors such as ABS ones may be connected to the EPS system and if so is it likely to be a shorted sensor that has caused my EPS to fail.... You may be aware that i know very little about this or any other car for that matter but have been trying to locate Torque sensors on this motor .... I will keep trudging through diagrams and manual searches to try and eliminate the controller- pump and other bigger price items to replace but i would kick myself if there is common knowledge out there about sensors shorting and causing EPC systems to crash... I have saved your videos and have subscribed as you are the first person to actually explain in laymans terms how the electrical communicates with the mechanical..... its as if you have done this before ..lol.... Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this matter..
And such a situation you have to isolate the problem is it really electrical or is it mechanical because there is a motor involved instead of hydraulics the first thing to do is mechanical wise to inspect it thinking that a water is conductive and there is a motor involved if anything would be shorted it would blow a fuse because there are many protection devices protecting that motor and system go put in Google diagram wiring for the name of your car 2008 Suzuki electrical power steering try to locate that good luck and hopefully you can find it keep me updated
@@Joeelectronicschematicsforauto Thanks and yes.. i checked the fuse boxes for just that ... I will locate the controller module and strip it out and check.... I may even buy a second hand one and plug that in.... I have a manual as of 4 mins ago so will get busy with that.... I've joined a forum as well as sometimes they can be useful.... I will be sure to give you a heads up when progress has been made... thanks for your prompt reply ..... Have a grand weekend....
good day sir, my electronic power steer stopped working after the mechanic changed a pair of rack end, since then it came on about two times for a short time then went out again. I changed the rack and pinion but the eps light was still on. funny thing is about 2 days ago my idler pulley that tensions the alternator belt started making a lot of noise, about a hour after that the eps light went off and the power steering started working, it worked the whole time until i took it to the garage the next day and changed the pulley. when we stsrted the car the eps light was on again. could the problem be the torque sensor?
If you're referring to the input of the power steering control module usually there 12 v but if you're referring to any sensors usually they can be 12 v or 5 v which make a model of a car are you referring
Simple question. I messed up the middle smaller wire that plugs into the motor, And now my car won't start. Could that be because of the wire I messed up? Can you explain those 3 wires that plug into my chevy malibu motor
Because the water could be going from a connector which is coming from the body control module which controls the relay to the starter motor the other one is for the serial data line for communications for the body control module best bet is to jump the load side not the control side of the relay to see if the starter motor comes on if you are referring to that one
You can actually go to Google and download it for free if you put Honda 2005 and the type of diagram that you need for example if you need fuel injectors that's what you would put in so try that again back and get back to me
Sometimes it could be a problem with the motor overheating turning on and off and sometimes there are problems with the sensors that measure the torque complicated electronics as usual
I think if you look at the channels that I have you can find the wiring diagram for almost pretty much many makes and models I think I listed the channels Joe electronic schematics for Auto and the other one Automotive electronic schematics by Joseph you will find many diagrams and you can take a picture of it try that thanks for your comment
What you could do is because I don't have the app for PDF what you could do is put in Google in the search box ECU for the specific car that you need diagram for it should give you a bunch of diagrams for that car and it's free
I made another video of it explaining those details you can probably find it on the channel I'm trying not to repeat myself thank you so much for your comments

is the power steering control module signal 12v or 5v ?

Hello sir am having issue concerning my temperature gauge and Rpm not working plus the power steering
I have a corolla 2009 and thers two wires coming crom the eps modules to the motor, how many volts i need to have ( actually inhave 6 v)
Since it goes to a fuse unpin one it should have 12 oz but if the alternator is on remember you might get more than maybe thirteen or fourteen v
Simple question. I messed up the middle smaller wire that plugs into the motor, And now my car won't start. Could that be because of the wire I messed up?
Can you explain those 3 wires that plug into my chevy malibu motor
Are these three wires for the sensor or for the motor for electronic steering so I can understand better?
Which connector a plug are you referring to and motor
Which motor are you referring to start a motor the starter motor?

Hi Joe
heyyy
Why my electronic power steering is going on an off when i bump the key, something is bad
Sometimes it could be a problem with the motor overheating turning on and off and sometimes there are problems with the sensors that measure the torque complicated electronics as usual
And that's actually why the best tool to use is a scanner so that you can command the motor to come on

and of course component dont operate by spirit but the wiring in between them. He didnt explain the wiring and colors and where then go.
