I have the paid version of this program, followed all of the correct steps here, and it has not worked right, ever. It keeps assigning 2 separate drive letters - USB Drive (J) 52MB free of 96MB and WinToUSB (K) 20GB free of 28GB for some unknown reason, Brian. SO frustrating!
will this work on a pc or laptop without a HDD or SSD?

The best free wintogo creator Is Rufus. Mostly because its actually free.
Takes hours and produces something non-functional. WinToUSB is also garbage.

Thank you so much! My Win 10 Tablet hard drive took a dive, and I was able to install windows again on an external SSD.
For maintanance purpose it is butter and easier to use ubnt flash since it not need to prepare the OS and could use it directly to solve your problems like moving your files from corrupted Windows OS on C drive to another drice and the format the C drive

I put an128gig m.2 drive in my fx6350 16gig computer,and went from about a minute to 18 seconds to windows did same to fx8350 an that was 16 seconds .I very happy computer never slows down even when under load .
Didn't work for me. After reboot Windows 11 starts booting, passing the Getting Things Ready, and then everything just stops with black screen and nothing happens anymore. Tried few times with different Windows 11 ISOs. Though they were all the latest once, 2023H2 V2.
How much storage the drive should have Brian?
The main thing to use is a fast USB
More than 16 gb
32g would be the bare minimum cause of updates
I installed it in Sandisk SSD 1 TB extreme, but when I try to boot it up on a Dell laptop it's not showing in the boot configuration list. I tried disabling secure boot but no luck. Could you advise?

Tried this and it booted up to "why did my PC restart" everytime. Did everything you did.
Thanks for the video i am about to get my new 2tb NVMe drive tomorrow in which i am planning on replacing the 1tb NVMe i am using now and also run my system on a fresh Windows installer but i also did not want to not have a system while doing to install process because id still like to watch a video before i would turn off my system and boot up everything.
Also i would like to know when you would install on the external first can you move files to the new drive before the whole finishing process because id like to move over some important files to the new drive before installing it.
Different between installation and the go to is once have the .iso from the installer, it will install from it?
Because, I wanted to install from external drive to a computer with only 1 serial bus socket.

You could plug the USB drive to any PC and boot your own Windows OS.
I think it's self explanatory. People search for videos like this because they want to know how to do it, not because they need to know it.

Hi... can you help me? I tried to convert win to go OS on enclosured ssd (external ssd) to physical OS because i want to use this ssd as internal hard disk. But when i try to convert it with this app it says "operating system cannot be found". Do you have solution for this?
I'm assuming you got two PCs, not just put the SSD into a PC. You could just made a backup into another storage and restore it in the PC with the physical OS you have planned on converting into.

Hi there,
I have 2 PCs available. One is Dell Inspiron 16 7610 (which is modern laptop with Intel i7 11th gen processor and Nvidia grafics), one is custom built with AMD Phenom and ATI graphics. This PC was created around 2005 or so (maybe I'm wrong).
I created Windows To Go on my Inspiron with WinToUsb and it works great there, but here's the catch - it seems to work only on PC it was built on first.
After switching over to the 2nd PC (with the Phenom processor) it booted and installed AMD configuration, however after switching over back to the Inspiron I got BSOD with a code and I couldn't boot it.
What's up with the portable Windows, if I'm unable to switch computers? It is running from USB flash drive, or is it not?
I left windows I’m very happy with manjaro gnome, no more bloatware no more slowing down also I bought AMD gpu and it runs steam games with proton just like windows even faster. Thanks for the video I’m not interested in windows anymore

The instructions from Hasleo on WinToUSB and WinToHDD is unclear and confusing. From what I gathered from talking with Hasleo is that WinToUSB is used to create a bootable USB drive or any external HDD/SDD that uses an USB connection. This works great, but you will need WinToHDD to clone whats on the USB drive back onto your primary drive on your computer if it ever becomes corrupted or unbootable. So in short you have to have WinToHDD installed on your primary drive before you use WinToUSB to create the bootable USB drive.

Brian I am a little confused about the drive you are using is it a stick USB drive as I have never seen a1TB USB drive and am presuming it is will be very expensive. So when the OS has been established on this drive does this mean you can run Windows 11 from the drive if you set the BIOS to boot from it. Sorry mate I am not that savvy and why I ask - plus how do you activate this OS on the stick?
I showed it at the end of the video, its an enclosure which lets me have a M.2 drive ion there. Super fast speeds
@@Britec09 Ok Brian I had an idea that what it was and not a dedicated stick which I think you would agree would be a very expensive and hard-to-find device in fact I have never seen one of 1TB size during my travels.
on my 64GB drive it say please restart the instalation i restart my pc same issue :(

Hi. It might just be me, but I can't get mine to boot up on the External drive from the Bios. My lists don't look like yours (BIOS list of bootable drives) and the drive I've copied the files onto isn't listed. Tried changing between Legacy and Uefi and lots of boot options but I just can't get it to go for the external drive first. Any help would be very much appreciated and thanks for the great video (as always).
upon startup look for what the bios settings function key to press is, and that will take you to the menu where you will be able to move the devices up and down in order to boot from the usb first. look at the bottom for the options to change stuff, and save before exiting.

I can't get win2usb or Rufus to use the ISO I just downloaded from Microsoft they said the ISO is incomplete. Is it possible to just clone my os to my USB?

Dude you missed out the part that needed more attention, how to setup BIOS and what format needed to Install, hasleo free version is NOT much of a help its only tease you that you can install window to go but in order to actual create window to go you need to purchase full version of the software

I just thought is it really necessary for this WintoUSB thingy to have internet connection? You see, if you have internet, Win11 will automatically download your grafic card drivers and NVIDIA control panel and stuff.
If you insert it in another PC it will load maybe AMD drivers, which arent working on NVIDIA PC - and vice versa. How to prevent Win11 from loading that stuff, while still having internet?

It's basically windows on a flash drive which is portable.
