Thank you so much! Like so many others, printed instructions for these operations have left me bewildered. Your video made it clear! I'm looking forward to play/pausing my way through my first PROPER cuff and vent construction.
Ok, so I waited until I've watched all other cuff/placket videos before commenting and I must say, this is by far the easiest/quickest method. I've followed along and sewed two perfect sleeves with plackets and cuffs. The only issue I had was not paying attention to which side of the placket overlaps, so both times I sewed them backwards, duh. But now I have the confidence to do many more, thank you sew much. 😉

What? Even attaching the cuff? I’ve always put the iron-on Pelion on a fabric that I fold. I’ve already done it. I just came for a different method for the insert. Wow! We continually learn.
Great video for beginners like me sewing my first shirt. The McCalls pattern left me completely in the dark as far as making the sleeve vent. I think I've watched this about 15 times and I think I've got it. Personally, I think I've watched it about 5 times just for the tunes. Thanks for posting.

Wow! I've watched several videos trying to figure this out. I've been making my grandson western shirts with one single pattern, but it is short sleeved. He now wants long sleeved ones for the cold weather. Instead of buying another pattern, you made this a simple way to create my own. Thank you so much.

Thank you! I’ve back-burnered a shirt project (my first) because the way the placket is constructed is really fiddly. I decided I needed to find a better way to do it.

Great tutorial! One question though: is the sleeve left of right? :D Got lost on this. Would be helpful to have the edges labeled front and back at the very initial stage where we are marking the cut 5cm from the edge (is it the edge at the back or front of the sleeve) :)

hi thank you for the tutorial .. i tried it every thing work but i used thick fabric so i struggle with the triangle place it wasn't perfect .. but overall this tutorial is clear and easy to follow.
