- The story of God's transformative power, lifting someone from humble beginnings to success, is exemplified by Job Ayub, the artist behind the popular song 'Mundu Murathime.'
Job was born and raised in Kirinyaga County, specifically in Kirinyaga Central. He grew up deeply rooted in the church and even in his early years, he composed songs for his Sunday school friends. His passion for worship was a calling that eventually led him to become a prominent figure in the Kikuyu gospel music industry.
Job's journey to the bustling capital city of Nairobi was filled with a mix of challenges and opportunities. Upon his initial arrival in the city, he initially sought refuge at his brother's hostel at Kabete Polytechnic, only to discover that he couldn't stay there since he wasn't a student at the time. Fortune smiled upon him when he reconnected with a friend who introduced him to the business of making and selling Mandazi to university students. However, throughout these endeavors, Job remained unwavering in his belief that he was destined for greatness, particularly in the realm of music production. It was during this time that he crossed paths with Guka Wa Inooro, who provided him with the opportunity to sell music cassette tapes to make a living.
In subsequent months, Job's life took another turn when he became a conductor for matatus (public minibuses). His dedication and hard work paid off, and he was eventually promoted to the position of manager for these matatus.
However, life took a challenging turn when Job decided to open his own church. At first, very few people attended his sermons, leaving him to preach primarily to his wife.
In an exclusive interview, Job Ayub shares the hidden aspects of his life and delves into his future aspirations. This interview offers a unique insight into his remarkable journey from grass to grace.
