- I returned to my treehouse to add windows to get in more light and insulated the walls and the floor to make it warmer during cold nights.

Dude, you made a cabin with holes in it. You’re always gonna be freezing! Bugs’ll come in from the light & possible critters from the warmth. Better to plug up those holes.

Built one similar, Covered the exterior with 15# felt and lined the interior with used sleeping bags I got at yard sales It was very warm and cozy. It would get very hot if you didn't keep an eye on how much wood you put in the stove or didn't set the damper properly. Had a great time there even with -23 degrees and once a full 40 inches of wet snow' "Stay warm Stay dry, and enjoy yourself. PS. It was 10 foot by 10 foot, with a 6.6 foot ceiling. Came home from Nam. lived there for two years plus. Miss it To dam old to do it again. ❄💧🔥

Reminds me of similar raised buildings I've seen in Alaska... beautifully built and I like that window inset method you did. A comfort zone in the middle of nowhere. Gourmet meals with the basics one needs. Stay warm when there is no place to stay warm. That's what a bushcraft is. It's all gokd😊

Дом на дереве очень окуратно построен, вы можете под домиком сделать ещё одну комнату, место достаточно. Обогородив его, и там сделать полы и также поставить печку и там готовить а трубу провести через второй этаж и обложить её кирпичом чтобы оно сохраняло тепло. А ещё хорошо на первым этаже раздеваться и оставлять вещи. А на втором этаже отдыхать. И сделайте хорошие окна на втором этаже, вы всю красоту леса не видете.
Хорошие большие окна- источник потери тепла, к сожалению)

Интересно а где это дерево растет? В тайге? Если так, то медведю только одной лапкой махнуть и не будет этого"домика". Да и домик то летний. В нем невыдержиш и +3.😂

Watching you from Hawaii in the pacific ocean. Thats a nice set up and the foundation convenient too. make sur you havd a lot of potatoes and black coffee and they are a must to have. Enjoy your travels Sir and be safe.

Вместо двери сделайте окно, а лестницу с внутри первого этажа сделайте а не с улицы. У вас получится полноценный дом двух этажный.

What’s with the burlap on the walls? It has no insulating qualities in that application. It’s also a fire hazard around that stove.
Vikings err on the wild side where health and safety is an afterthought - axe throwing with zero personal protective equipment ( PPE ) no risk assessment and a mission statement tattood on ones nether regions ! This is an alien world to us where if one feels chilly - grab a burning log from the stove and eat it - that kind of thing.Hard as nails - probably eats them too !

You rock man…seen an old documentary on survival in the Canadian north woods,it shared a knowledge by a native who,with an AXE you could set up for a comfortable stay in the woods.
Why use burlap on interior? No insulating properties and it’s a fire hazard.

Nice stove, I too have one, put 1” thick fire brick covering the entire bottom of woodstove, if not fire brick you can use clay a good 1 1/2” thick or even dirt. Wood burns more evenly and holds heat longer, it makes a huge difference

Green tarp holding that heat in something fierce. Nevertheless..its certainly a cool ( no pun intended) little fort . I had built similar and regretted not being able to get my large dog inside..moved before building a ramp for him . Also pondered a pully system to get him up . 140 pounds that didn't like being lifted by anything..I should have built it closer to ground. But I was thinking about bears 🐻.

suggestion:
Your door, put a diagonal board on the inside of the door, from the top corner of the opening side to bottom corner of hinge side, make it a tight fit. This will prevent the opening side of door from sagging...

I've always wanted to buy some land with a clean water source and build my self a treehouse.
Not just a survival hut but a nice split level multi room type.
Now I'm 60 and time doesn't wait on one 1⃣ or any thing.
Maybe one day. First step is to find some land east of the Mississippi around the blueridge mountains.

I love how what our ancestors called "surviving" we now just call bushcraft camping.

I really don't know how to tell you this but that is not insulation. It is mesh material. It will not keep the cold wind out of your little building.
Yes, that's why I used a different type of insulation in my latest treehouse video 🤠

beautiful tree house my friend! looks really cozy and totally safe. must keep you safe from wild animals on the floor. this is camping that i like with a log cabin not a tent. i dont feel safe in a tent at all. and i wouldnt get any sleep. what kind of meat were you eating? what is the name of the stove you use? i would love to get the same one with that oven feature for my future cabin. video was educational and soothing.
