Awesome stuff. Definitely when the channel grows...cover all the weight loss stuff, nutrition, rides you did to lose the weight. Allot of people out there just looking for the motivation to do it themselves. I was one of them. Picked up the bike again 2 weeks ago after seeing your video where you mention your weight loss and I'm doing 2 hours daily 6 days a week and I love it. Got "a few pounds" myself to take off
Followed you on Strava and looking forward to watching you progress! Jeff (and your sick edits) motivated me to get back into cycling after a 10 year hiatus, I dropped 60lbs and started racing last season with some good results! Keep it up buddy!
Maybe do a video on the difference between structured workouts outside vs inside. Differences, which you feel is better. What the pros say, etc. I think that would be interesting.
Great to see these vlogs come more regularly, awesome to see your progress buddy, been a big motivation to get me back on my bike after my spine surgery! thanks bro. Suggestion, would you get a body mount for the gopro so its on your chest during the workouts, so we can see the duration of your climbs and descents (kinda like cycling tattooist)
Hey, I follow norcal cycling two years now, and I feel so motivated. Your vlogs are amazing. Please, make more videos about your training weekend, I like that landscape I also go for a ride each /each second day if it's not too windy or not rainy, but avoid climbings, because it hurts, and it kills my breathing. From now one, I will try to copy your routine little bit and climb more up x 1 x 2 x 3 :).
Hey EJ, love the journey and the content! I have a question for ya, did you go to school for videography or are you self taught? I'm making a career change and have been learning bits of Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro plus some 3rd party apps for the iPhone, but I like your style and would love to do what you do someday! Thanks
Thank you so much for the support! I was self taught actually. Best thing you can do is just edit a ton! Been editing for about 10 years now and just every little effect I wanted to learn I’d watch a tutorial on TH-cam! I hope that helps! 🙏
Nice work! It's interesting what you mention about the difference between outside and ERG mode. I've found it helpful to not always use ERG mode while on the trainer, and do some workouts on a "regular virtual road." Makes the transition from inside to outside a bit easier.
Keep up the good work. Maybe add power/speed/elevation/cadence on the screen so we can see your training. Less of the camera holding while biking. That just makes me nervous! You have a helmet mount for your go pro. Why not use that?
I'd like to see some vlogs on your weight loss experience, maybe some nutrition tips too? As you're a new cyclist, I like hearing your excitement about riding. Let us know what you're enjoying and disliking, etc...
can't even imagine doing an intervall workout outside. Living in a city I first need to get out and this will cost me about 30 to 40 min or even more. Zwift is great because just sit down and start. By the way I have no power meter on my bike
@@norcalfullraces I’m relatively new as well to crit racing. I signed up for Cal Aggie and Cherry Pie so far. I hope to do more races and hope to see you out in one. Kudos👍🏽
5 mins in and you keep talking about the intervals you're doing ... but you never mention what intervals you're doing, unless I missed it. Jackson immediately says what he's doing.
Keep in mind for those 6 months he wasn't training at all just focused on losing weight. Now he is doing training so fueling properly, I'd imagine his weight will remain steady at this point.
Everyone has different body weights that their body is happy being. If you eat a deficit at some point you’re going to hit a wall and your either going to A feel like crap forcing you to swing back to maintenance Calories or B give into cravings. I feel very healthy at 175-185 range because that’s what I was at most of my life until I gained a lot of weight during the pandemic. So it was easy for me to lose the weight with a healthy caloric deficit and should be somewhat easy (if I make good eating choices) to maintain during the season.
Bro please stop filming your intervals. It isn't good for you and it would be better if you had a camera on the bike rather than on your hand.It can make a bad habit and when you will go this hard in a race or smth you won't be stable on the bike and you'll start to fall apart
I hate watching these cause this dude has a girl to take care of all of the other stuff in his life and barely works 2 hours editing videos. Jeff, vlog a real guy who works on his feet 10 hours a day and lives alone, has to cook his own meals, get his own groceries and wash his own kit, pay his own bills. then we'll see the real power numbers for the average couch to crit. Also get somebody who doesn't live in perfect weather 24/7. You guys do realize that Californica isn't the only state don't you?
I do have other clients that I don’t show besides Jeff, so I do work quite a bit more than 2 hours a day…how ever everything else you say is pretty true 🤣 sorry!
@@norcalfullraces Your cadence was wayy to low for those efforts you were doing. Start the training season with higher cadence and progress into power that way you can have higher cadence on the steeper climbs and it will wear your legs out less over the duration
Did you know 🤧There is no one on this planet that has done more structured training using intervals in cycling than me . Shaving your legs should be fiance's choice. She's going to have to deal looking at you. 😳 Plus hair is aerodynamic.
I see that goatee is forming as you get closer to Jeff’s super saiyan level.
🤣🤣🤣
Man, is there anything better than a sunny winter day in Northern California? All that green grass, happy oak trees... Beautiful. nice rides.

yes certainly

I wish I did that to be honest. ERG made is pretty hard to adjust to outside this first week, but we are slowly getting the hang of it!
That coughing, just a heave away from barfing, yeah that’s when you know you got the most out of that workout… 😂🍻
