The best self-defense technique is to be Don Frye.
It's like Bas Rutten's self defense course. The entire video was more about how to protect yourself from Bas Rutten.
@@linbei16 😂
@BruceWayne-sz3thboth frye or Rutten demolish Norris.
Lol
@BruceWayne-sz3th guess who else can beat chuck.
Mark Coleman. Lol
Reminds me of Rex Kwon Do, but most legit. Bow to your sensei !! 👋🏻
Being told to run from the police by Don Frye is the best thing ive heard in 2024. I know it just started, but im here for it
Okay, Redditor
I met Don Frye in the 90's, he was one of the few people who looked bigger and stronger in real life than on television. Point is...he didn't really look like the kind of person criminals pick out as an easy mark, lol.
😂!!
This video is all about how to bully a guy throwing desperate punches to protect himself.
Criminals used to be bigger too.
😂@@stropheon
😂 Don Frye, the easy target
The monologue in the beginning was awesome. “Don’t wait around for the police to come.”
Yeah brah, that was epic, to be sure! 😂
Watch for urine on the ground and dip before the law comes. Don is classic man
“When a man goes down on the street, he’s gonna eat some concrete!”
🤣
Frikkin love Don Frye.
I was on a flight with Don Frye from DFW to JFK. Its amazing to hear how different his voice now. After we exited the plane, he was waiting around for the person he was with. I walked up, shook his hand and congratulated him on his podcast.
"Thank you, brother."
That moustache will defend Don Frye without him lifting a finger.
Bruce said, "Never underestimate, nor, indeed, overestimate, a man whose moustache is slightly asymmetrical.”
Don Frye is a national treasure 🇺🇲
He is an example of a real american. He likes weapons, he likes to fight, he likes to drink and hates communism 😁
They dressed like two dads who got into a disagreement at the BBQ.
Lmfao
Perhaps they could be your grand grandpas and no dads? ;)
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 can moment killed me !! But don Frye was a beast !!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀💀💀💀🪦🤦🏿
Lol
The first moment I saw the thumbnail of this video, I thought it is Tom Selleck 😂😂😂
First Lesson: Avoid the lawyers... Done 💪
Ain't nobody gonna do that lol
Lawyers can come in pretty handy brah.... Don't take that one too literally.
When they asking you endless questions, ceaselessly responding with: "Ehhh....is my lawyer here yet Doc??...." can be easier to focus on than just trying to remain silent.
Don't let me suck you in to dialogue and responding. Just
" Where's my Lawyer Doc??.."
This the most 90’s thing I’ve ever seen.
fantastic. Don was one of the coolest and funniest guys to hang out with, when I was still fighting, I had a great opportunity to get to hang out with him, not just a skilled mma guy but a really fantastic human being to get to know.
He is real life Mike Haggar
@@francdubois7832 I rented that game so much as a kid... Awesome :)
>clicked zenshinacademy's profile
>pic of him with don frye
my face: 😳
@@macemaster I was blessed from the late 90's through the mid to late 2000's to have many opportunities to train, work out and hang with many of the big names of the mma world back then. Being a fighter myself it afforded me many opportunities. In the beginning stages of that I was a "fan boy" that collected autograhs and the like, but later it wore off and too me they were, all be it famous, just normal training and hang outs.
I heard his fighting system was designed from wrestling bulls
today, i love the algorithm. my life didnt begin until i knew this video existed
Don Frye kicks ass
Hahaha 😂!! The look on Don's face when he applies a choke, or smashes his enemy!!
The brother is an absolute Savage!! Cracks me up Mfs!!
Mike Haggar giving Final Fight tutorial
Too accurate considering he did play Mike Haggar.

Dan Severn was the basis for Mike Haggar.

A gold nugget this Video. Thx very much🙏.
I didn't know Magnum PI could really fight!
Waiting for other volumes too 💪
I love his technique of blocking punches with his head.
Always be aware of urine on the ground. Also get out of there before the police come. Good techniques by Don here.
A legend
Thanks for this.
Don Frye !!!! Legend !!
situational awareness is a bigger factor in prevention than people think. I'm amazed at how clueless people are of what's happening around them. is the dude alone or is he with others? are they willing to back him up or is he on his own? when the rest look away or down when you look at them it's pretty likely they won't help the dude harassing you.
of course, the longer you stay in the situation the bigger the risk gets. don't keep on arguing needlessly. walk away or finish it quickly if you can.
then there's also the ability to switch on. to me this means the willingness to inflict damage and really hurt someone. I don't like to fight but if someone is out to hurt me or my family, all bets are off. I've been told my look changes when provoked too much, never seen it myself but I've had people freeze up, turn around and walk away.
and of course the question is: what happens when you're confronted with violence? most people collapse and look like a deer caught in the headlights. when it's go time tunnel vision can arise. the ability to have vision and clearly see what's happening is a major factor for survival.
it helps when you're used to fight situations so you won't buckle like a wet rag. not many untrained people are able to maintain vision and awareness in a fight situation.
go to a boxing or muay thai class. it will help. but the best way to be safe is to just be Don Frye lol
I like that Thank you for your video ❤
Black belt magazine bringing the THUNDA!

If I won the lottery I’d hire Don Frye and Bas Rutten to be my bodyguards and start fights everywhere I went

They are excellent turntables.
I would love to be taught by this guy. And just talk to him about things like his time shooting Godzilla final wars. That was my favorite as a Godzilla films when I was a kid.

Moves never hit in competition by Don Frye.
Don Frye teaching Us how to defend ourselves against Kevin James 😂 brilliant
Mall Officer Blart has some moves
Don and his great mustache.
Nossa ele pode com esse homem nas costas dele, ele de costas tem uma força enorme.
Rule #1 of fighting: To be fully prepared for fighting, first you must prepare your surroundings.
You mean like put the jitsu mats out?😂
@@holeephuc007well, "duh" of course you take the time to first arrange the jiu jitsu mats before having a street fight.
Were you raised in a barn?!
Nobody wants to hurt anybody else in a REAL fist fight.
That's dangerous!
Someone might mess up their hair/make up, break a nail, or worse yet, scuff up their purse.
Savage.
This is a gem lmaooo
He must be a real Don in the streets
This 39 minute video is my gospel
Cool
Frappe frappe et frappe encore 😉
Respect à toi
Nice
It's like watching Magnum P.I.'s tougher older brother
“you can land in urine” 😂
Or a dogpile..
A big part of self defence is looking the part. I mean, you just would not tackle Don anyway. If you did: heaven help you. All these techniques are spot on and relatively easy to apply. Well done.
You’ll want to show off your badass calves and have your facial hair project raw masculinity.
@@hithere4719 Precisely!
These are actually good basic techniques that are proven to work. Nothing fancy just get out before the cops come lol
I hate it when I'm in the air hurting towards urine while the perp's accomplice is on the phone calling his lawyer to sue me.
Magnum is a savage
These are all great for someone who is athletic, strong, big, and already has some level of basic self defense training.
For the average "civilian" who has never thrown a punch in his or her life, the best defense is still to be at home behind closed doors after dark whenever possible. The next best is situational awareness augmented with a LEGAL weapon that you are comfortable with. Pepper spray comes to mind as it is legal everywhere in the United States.
What do you suggest for people living in Australia, or the UK or the like?
Regards weapons, it is in truly understanding the principles and application of a given weapon, that is applicable to other weapons also.
A lot can be said for awareness and training in the art of using improvised weapons....all manner of objects in all sorts of environments assessed for their martial potential....
Whatever weapon (s) one chooses to use, be it the natural weapons of the human body, or a weapon individually chosen, one should be training in the use thereof....Fast access, ( even to something like pepper spray) should be always emphasized.
Ones legal standing in regards to using said weapon should be surely and deeply understood....( Actually researched, and fully understood...), without question (!)....
Just a few ideas to think about. Will no doubt lead the intelligent people to further insights from there.....
Walk in Peace, my brothers and sisters.
As an Eskrimador, and lifelong martial warrior for over thirty years, with many years spent in a wild life style, that saw me in literal combat, life or death, and much street awareness, etiquette and experience coming to pass. Mind, I have never been a bully, but confronted them in all manner of circumstances, including stints in the prison system.. with an intense mindset and deep inner rage and hatred for such types along the way...[ There are reasons for Everything...].....), I feel that it is necessary to try and make people aware of the reality of such paths re: choices in life, and the level of responsibility that mustneeds go with the decision to carry any given weapon, and to engage an opponent therewith, and all that follows. Be aware also that a weapon can get YOU killed also....Either as a response to your deploying it, disarming you, and/or smashing your head in ( a proper hard bastard brah!)
as he deploys his own weapon in response, or in a revenge action for any damage you may inflict upon his own or his friends personage, among other possibilities....
Just a little food for thought.
I worry about people who don't know about or consider these things, as it is cold hard reality.
My own journey taught me many of these things through first hand experience.
A measure of forethought, and awareness, along with advice given by those who had gone before me, helped me to make it through, and keep landing on my feet, despite tremendous odds, as I skipped across the stream of this lifetime, like a rock across the water.....Hard and fast events coming at me just one after another.....
Mi Vida Loca!!
Anyway, this has become a novel. I hope that it helps Someone out there to think a little for themselves upon these things, do some research, and maybe even consider taking up an art like Eskrima, for awareness of how ALL weapons work, etc etc
Completely right. I also would add to learn about the criminal stats in your country/area. For example, you re most likely to be attacked by someone you. This might changed of your an unknown dangerous area
@@joachimcoonan6255 For people in non permissive environments you have to try to use common items. An all metal ink pen. A sturdy umbrella with a solid body. A walking cane.
Bro. 4k VHS is freaking wild lol
The Grappling skills still work in Modern Days.
Don's so true at the beginning about surroundings. It saved my life once. An attacker came at me so I backed up with my hands in the air. I told him to look around him and look at our surroundings. Glass, rocks, curbs and dog shit. I then asked if he had a lawyer. I pummelled him with so many questions that he finally gave up and walked...thanks for that advice "Predator"!
No fight is the best fight. But if you fight, you must win.
I wish have mustache like Don Frye, nobody Will mess with me😅
Man nice technique and Don please don't take this as disrespect but for a minute i thought Magnum P
i had really been hitting the gym hehe
Damn, Don is the best but this takes lots of practice. Unfortunately I’m an old fart with glasses but I’ll try my best. Thank you Predator!!!
Was Don Frye born with that mustache? Its so manly.
Wish I can collect this video
Now I know where the character 'master ken' came from.
Osoto saved me when i had a fight as a teen. 24:34

Don you're the Best👍🏼
we are all here for 25:30 xD
I was seeking through the video and saw this, bless you 🙏🏼 😂

His training partner looks Thomas Ramirez from his UFC debut 😅
Ramirez was WAY fatter.
Hah.
Don's mustache makes him more intimidating.
Looks like Wild Bill from the show "Heels"
Sierra Vista O.G.
Now if Magnum Pi could of fought like that...🤔
25:36. Hahahhaha!!!!
Biggest take away…both want to get out of there before the police come 😂 i love this era
Nowadays it’s who can play the better victim card and they both call the police
The coughing showed you did not cut of his blood supply there. You crushed the windpipe. Big difference
Is that second guy Cal Worsham ?
