On "My Car Story" we're at the Carlisle Events in Carlisle PA at the Ford Nationals on 5-30-19.
We're looking at a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 in Candy Apple RedPaint. The car features the factory 428 CI V8 Cobra Jet engine.
The car's Owner is Mike Parent. Mike’s had this car since 2015. He shares he used to work at Ford and always wanted one of these cars. After he retired, he went on a search and found this car in 2015, and after inspecting the car, he purchased the car and achieved his goal.

Best year IMO, a neighbor bought new a dark green Mach 1 390 4 speed and he installed headers, torque thrust up front and steels wheels with slicks out back. He drove everywhere with slicks.

Another FABULOUS & MAGNIFICENT Ford Mach I. BEAUTIFUL BODY with a GREAT color combination, AMAZING WOW! my late brother-in-law had a '72 Mach I, but the rear hatchback is more of a straightforward & modified style. I LOVE his Mustang Mach I too. But this CLASSIC one ROCKS, looks like a guy with a BULKY shoulder, like me LOL! I LOVE the original chromed bumper of this 69 Mach I and the black louvre and its spoiler. And of course, the engine is SPECTACULAR! I love it when he revved up. Like what Mike said, it's an ICONIC car, indeed its true.

I knew a guy who had a 71 mach one with the 428 and it was something to see! He had a ton of things done to it so I don't know what it would of run in the 1/4 mile but I would of loved to drive it

Beautiful Mustang!! A guy who lives close to me has one of these the same color, but with the black interior. That white interior really makes this car pop! I think aftermarket air would have to be added, as I don’t believe air was available with the 428. This is a Ford that would be on my list if I had the money. A Boss 429 is even better, but the prices for those now days is unreal!! Thank Lou. You always bring the best stuff and car stories.

Restoring one now exact year, make and model but is a super CJ with black interior and black jade paint. Trashed the drums and did 4 wheel disk's so not entirely correct. Take's a long time so seeing vid's like this is very inspiring. Hands down probably the most sexy mustangs ever made.

I came across a Blue 428 SCJ in Lubbock Texas back in 88. I started it and it sounded wicked. Was only $ 3000 then . I believe it had a drag pack. I didn't drive it. Just started it.

owner loves his car and is not just an investment; great to see! the '69-'70 Mach is truly one of the cars that is 'complete' in styling...I have a '70 with the big port Cleveland and never get tired of looking at it. Mine is a white on white car originally, but I don't care for that combo so changed the interior out to black. Between the style and the famous FE CJ (only available for 3 years!), the '69-'70 CJ Mach is one of the significant benchmark cars of the era thanks for showing us this beautiful car

Lou Costabile. Yes indeed Lou. That edition also featured the XL and Torino and Cougar range. Some used the Dana Spicer two speed differential.

Lou, I had one just like this other than it had the C6. Mine was a red Super Cobra Jet that had been the pace car at the old Fairgrounds Speedway in Salt Lake. Really had regrets when I had to part with it.

I Love the health outta this car! If I owned it and someone asked if he could buy it - I'd say "No - but for $10 I'll let you take a picture of me with it". Heh. Yeah, I am totally evil like that. On the seats - while not period correct, I'd of made the seats a middle shade of gray with red piping. I wouldn't change anything else. She's gorgeous! You know the score I'd give this - all of em! Anyone hating this car would have to be a devoted Yugo lover. That's all there is to it.

What happened to the tag inside the drivers door? Thats important to the car.
It's there, however clearly painted over.
Amazing that car survived all those years. Considering it was engineered for illegal speed racing on the streets, it's a miracle it wasn't crashed within the first ten years of its life.
