Spain doesn't want tourists who spend a lot of money in their country, but instead wants illegal immigrants who cost them a fortune. How does that work?
Alex.. It doesn't... A no brainer really.... Tony cuenca
@@alexmorgan3435 The only Spanish that want illegal immigrants are the filthy rich business owners exploiting for work by paying them a fraction of the normal Spanish wage( that is really low). Illegal immigration is a problem in every European country.
We should send them some of ours :)
Migration from the African subcontinent is a huge problem. These are mostly economic migrants not asylum seekers. They are also mostly young men. It's happening all over the West. Managed migration is good, but this is out of control and has been encouraged by the EU, until now.
Kalergi Plan 🇮🇱
the only way to stop this is to give these people an economy of their own. god knows how this could be done
Just face it, The world is fucked!!
I don’t think a lot of people have joined the dots , it going to get far far worse and not get better
Kalergi Plan 🇮🇱
What noise does a globalist dog make? 'Wef, Wef Wef'.
If you think it's fucked, wait for the solution.
The world is what you make of it "mr saint".
Canary islanders don’t want tourism anymore, so, hello migrants! 🤣
Its not irregular, its illegal, give it a go yourself, there is legal immigration and then there is illegal immigration, its why we have something called immigration laws and breaking them is illegal and not irregular.
You are wrong. It is not illegal to claim asylum once in Europe. It's an irregular situation but it is not illegal
What is illegal is what in British law is called " benefits abroad fraud". Spain is the country with more cases of this kind of British crime. British citizens on benefits move to Spain illegally while renting in some cases their council flats illegally. Before you answer me I suggest you to check this information in Google. This kind of "tourism" is in part why Spanish people are fed up with tourism. They don't have much money and normally they live in caravan parks in places like Benidorm adding very little or nothing to Spanish economy
@@franciscopineda2594
Mate I know fraud happens, I lived and worked in Spain and its how Spain operates, I didn't mind it.
@@DropdudeJohn So you don't mind British citizens breaking the law in Spain but you are against irregular immigration. Right?
The tourists being harassed is getting world wide coverage and has definitely put myself and others I speak to off visiting Spain again. It’s so far to travel (Australia and NZ) and very expensive so looking for other destinations. We understand the housing situation etc as we have the same problem in popular areas but hope we never get to the stage where we attack guests to our country 😢
It's so rude to shoot someone with a water pistol. Very unacceptable and I hardly think it's very 'Spanish' even though I saw with my very own eyes Spanish women doing it in Barcelona.
Here's my plan, I get a plastic dingy from a tat shop, make my way north on Lanzarote, paddle across to La Graziosa, claim asylum, stay there the rest of my life.
I think you still have to pay the people smugglers a big whack, even if you use your own boat. Organised crime tends to be like that.
Yeah!Do that! You will find people like yourself been beri beri nice to you, no violence, no nothing. Plus I heard you are given an appartment, ferrari, benefits and a firstborn child...XDDD
Spain should look at what unchecked illegal immigration has done to host countries
the potential for spending controls with the digital currency is real, for example, how much meat you may buy, air travel or hydro carbon fuel. This is a possible future scenario, depending on the imposition of green policies that are being discussed. Remember, some of the "conspiracy theories" during the pandemic actually turned out to be true. Like the origin of Covid-19 for example.
That's true, but that doesn't mean every single conspiracy theory is therefore correct. Are you also a flat earther?
@@therealkakitron So what do you think is the point of a digital currency and how is it different from from say cash? You can buy things, products or services with both right? But with cash a transaction is absolutely untraceable and a digital currency is traceable at every step. Just let that sink in for a few minutes and think what could be done with that sort of information.
Plus digital makes a donation to the bank with every single transaction. Why do we want to make the banks richer? That plus bank accounts can be closed and your money vanishes
@therealkakitron Already banks in the UK and the USA have canceled accounts (in good standing) because of "wrong" political views. "Social Credit" is already implemented under a different name. The Covid lock downs prove the reality that governments can declare a crisis out of thin air and simply negate any and all of the "inviolable" human/civil rights. Not that I really want to bother to answer the head-in-the-sand ostrich here, but give others reading the comments food for thought.
Immigration : If it’s getting bad and will continue to do so then Sanchez needs to face up and sort it out. Have a look at the UK, countries have to follow the same strategy as Poland.
The only thing Sanchez wants to "sort out" is how to stay in power indefinitely
UK government changing everything day by day and one thing in the press is this. The new government is debating means testing the state pension, so that retirees could get a lower sum if Starmer and Reeves decide they are earning too much or live outside of the UK and receive a private pension.
This would completely undermine the structure of the state pension, where how much you get purely depends on how many national insurance contributions you made during your working lifetime.
It means someone who qualifies for the full new or basic state pension may not receive it in practice.
This would be a radical change that would infuriate those caught. Unsurprisingly, the Labour Party didn't breathe a word about it during the election campaign.
This isn't official party policy yet, but it could be.
Do the Spanish still have a Navy/Coast Guard? The UK had one once.
Not since it sank in the channel
@@Jmy777 I was up to make up the same joke but then hesitated because understood it's not about the navy but about the coast guard. I'm a Spanish speaker trying to learn English. You Brits better get prepared for the Russians
Fishing vessels have mostly separate Angel coast guards and the navy is mainly concerned with saving lives these years.
Yes, glass bottom boat tours go daily 😊
@rappers5719 Does the EU? Sounds like it needs one.
@hughsimpson2261 If you're not happy with Spain, don't come here at all. Threaten all you want, you will not be missed, i guarantee you that. I've seen first hand the disgusting behaviour of tourists in Spain, especially British ones. I've caught some out saying the most vile, disgusting things to locals that don't understand or speak English. One threatened to bash me , i put him to sleep with a right to the jaw.
You're in someone else's country. The least you can do is show some respect.
Here we have a real life Johnny Rambo. Eejit
😂😅😆
Ironic I see the same attitude here in the Scandinavian urban zone I live in . So it is not only the Brits . Lol
@coffermartin77 You'd put anyone to sleep with your boring nonsensical BS..
@@anthonyferris8912 watch out for his big right hook😂
We all know by now the growing discontent surrounding the anti-tourist movement. I've commented previously about this. I sympathise with frustrated locals but the their anger is misdirected and misconceived. Spain receives millions of tourists every year because they love the country. A tiny minority are complete arseholes. Speaking as a Brit, we have to put up with them all year round. In my experience most tourists behave themselves, enjoy Spain and inject an awful amount of money into the economy. Seriously, what's the problem? Every freaking country in the 'developed' world has a housing crisis. Get over it and stop blaming tourists.
I'm actually concerned that this anti-tourist movement is becoming an anti-outsider, semi-racist, angry mob and it's growing in a brainless popularity. Stop using the offensive word 'guiri' one and for all because it's not used in good humour but a snide negativity. Imagine if Spaniards were assaulted in London for the crime of eating in a bar. Those that did it would be accused of being 'far right' nationalists. Spaniards need to ask questions of their politicians about their problems before going down the road of blaming foreigners who bring wealth to the country.
Spaniards are yelled at in public transportation just for speaking in spanish in England...WTF are you talking about???Racism is blantant in England, and it is one of the Brexit reasons! Ask any sothern european, and they will tell U truly worrisome stories about that, and water pistols are not involved
Spain, POrtugal, Italy, Greece, France...have had demostrations and more are on the way. You know why, because people kicked out of appartements to put up airbnbs are not very worried about GDP, but for a roof over their heads. As a tourist you make part of a humongous industry so, yeah, you too are responsable for your choices
@@welshtoro3256 How about the Brits stop using the word “wog” and then, the Spanish stop using the word “guiri”? Sounds fair?
@@coffermartin77 I haven't heard anyone use the word "wog" for decades. You're making it up. However, I have heard plenty of Spaniards use the offensive word "guiri" countless times.
Bull running is cruel.
It's San Fermin, fiesta!!

I hate service charges in restaurants as a general rule. They usually only exist in high end restaurants and I have occasionally come across them in Spain in these sorts of places. I expect establishments like those to pay proper wages to their staff and not rely on customers to do so. If I dine in a fancy restaurant I expect good service. Owners say it's to be shared amongst all the staff (and that's not always true) but why am I subsidising their wages? High end restaurants should pay their staff properly.
Hi Suart. Interesting video. Thank you. I have come accros a few restaurants where a discretionary service charge has been added to my bill. In all cases I crossed it off the bill and explained that I would prefer to leave una propina. I never had any problems at al doing this. I would add that all these restaurants were higher end eateries and I never got asked for a service charge in any ordinary restaurant.😀👍
There's a very clear principle when it comes to service. First come, first served. It's the only fair way. People should not be allowed to jump the queue and that way there is no discrimination.
Yes. We had to pay a service charge in Los Palacios y Villafranca. First time we'd encountered it in twenty years here. Not going back there.
Your user inquiry about wheelchair accessibility was a good one. While you are out-and-about, perhaps you could give some attention to accessibility for your listeners. It would be another worthwhile enhancement to your excellent work.
The wage problem is identical to the one in the US.
Very interesting Stuart. Thank you 😊
Hi Stu im sure when i lived in Spain in the late 1980 s i used to buy a lovely Mortadella Spam type sandwich ham with olives and bits of red pepper lovely with some gherkins 🥒 lol

Hi Stu. This is off topic but I heard yesterday that Greece has changed to a Six day work week. I know you’ve talked about the interest in a 4 day work week and it seems Greece went in the other direction.
Tomatina Festival is also very popular.
We have vegetarian festivals as well
Nonsense you're throwing hate because the Spanish government is cutting back in short term holiday let's to stop the overflow if tourists simple facts
All facilitated by governments

Tony is probably right , San Sebastian looks fabulous! My wife and I are extending our stay in the North of the country to check it out. You don't often see strollers in the sand at beaches! 🤩 (we saw several baby strollers on the beach in the video we watched). Can't wait to see your take of it, Stu! Pintxos y mas pintxos!
The San Fermin festival started this past Sunday. Today was the third encierro. It will end next Sunday. Ole!
I can't understand why it's happening. No one seems to control the borders. Shocking 2.50 an hour.
1. Canada is blessed by a severe winter that will kill if you decide to walk a few kilometers, there 99% of our immigrants legal or not come thru airports, this profile of immigrants is usually higher in the economic scale.
2. Canada has learnt that it is the children of immigrants that will speak English or French in their adult homes , feel and act 100% canadian and let go the immigrants traditions. So why fight it with the parents immigrants ? Better to let the immigrants spice it up their way , because the kids will not
Patience wins the day .
100 million for year 2100 , if there are any Immigrants left
Anything good happening in Spain? Why always the negative news?
Hi Stu!
Thanks for your informative channel! I was thinking about the protests against tourists. First the protests should be directed at those who can and should have solved this problem Mr Handsome and not at those who come to Spain and waste their money. I am sure they will soon find new destinations.
Personally, I think that those who protest are extremely ungrateful, Northern Europe has saved Spain from bankruptcy twice in a short time, 2008 and Covid! It would be a nice gesture to pay back the money before protesting! Then if the tourists stop coming, it will have much greater consequences than just 14% of GDP loss. There are many more who are not included in that part... Construction companies, subcontractors etc. Guess that it would disappear close to 30% of GDP! Then the black sector that even if they do not come in as tax revenue, they come into the overall economy. So shut up whinging before it's too late! The lack of housing is not the tourists fault, but bad politicians!
Saludos Erik
Crazy? In January 2025 there will be the annual Fitur Exhibition (International Tourism Trade Fair) in Madrid where almost every town with tourists will be promoting what they have to offer to tour operators, cruise companies, travel agents and hoteliers to encourage them to promote Spain for holidays. In the meantime we are having protests from locals across the country demanding that tourism is reduced. Any suggestions to resolve?
At least they have Plenty of hotels to house them, it won’t be too bad.
Digital euro not going to be good for the plebs !
So instead of dealing with the real problem the Spanish are blaming tourism for the problems.
All that will do is hurt the very part of the economy that Spain relies on . The reason for the EU open borders was simply to get cheap labour, nothing more .
All the Western countries are using high immigration, legal and illegal to keep wages down , prices high , especially housing prices.
All of it is calculated, but if people say that, they are considered Far Right and racist
Regarding the immigrants - The Spanish Government will have to do what the British Government has done….oh no, wait!
There were four to five people per square meter in the town hall square when the chupinazo. Tens of thousand run the bulls but hundreds of thousand visit Pamplona. It's not for everyone. A trick to recover and recharge batteries is going north of Pamplona in the morning. Just driving 20 minutes or takng a bus and you'll be into a thick fresh forest
That's what many locals do to recover from the hangover.
They already control how you can spend cash, so why would anyone think they won’t both track and control how you spend your digital currency.
Hi Stu regarding the social score connection to Cbdcs . Just look across to China and its already happening there, they were first with Cbdcs . Even Canada closed the accounts of people who donated money to the truckers when they were striking there due to mask mandates. Although nothing similar has been announced in EU about such actions I wouldn't put it past politicians to do something similar for who THEY deem to be trouble causeers! We won't know what.weve lost until our cash is gone. We should be careful we don't give our autonomy away. Even Lagarde did.a speech stating Cbdcs could even have a spend by date for savings to encourage public spending to help a struggling economy like after 2008 !.
Way off subject......
Absolutely discombobulated as to Spain´s cafes inability to make a good cup of coffee.
They have those expensive espresso/coffee machines, yet, these ¨Baristas¨
pull the most horrible coffee.
AND, there is a reason why hot coffee is served in a cup and NOT a vaso (glass),
Coffee is HOT
The Spanish like the bitter 'torrefacto' type of coffee, and they balance that with the addition of sugar. You don't have to like it, but they are not going to change it for your benefit. Italian coffee is available in some supermarkets and online, so you could make it at home.
I have had some of the best coffee in Spain, loved it.
Yes, the "torrefacto" process is the culprit. I've been to Starbucks cafes in Madrid while on visits to Spain and enjoyed the flat whites, just like in the US.
If you make your own coffee, buy whole beans in the supermarkets. I've gotten Starbucks and the Italian brand Lavazza in small town grocery stores in Spain.
Mil gracias por el vídeo Stuart, running with bulls not for me amigo.far too dangerous.have not been to San Sebastián yet ,however is on the list.tenga una buena fin de semana
Why irregular? Legal or illegal.

It’s nonsense to suggest that anyone can tell you what you can buy with your money, however it’s not ridiculous to imagine a doctor refusing to treat you for cancer if your spending record reveals you’re buying ciggies every day.

Why would any person want to leave their home? Yes, some people are adventurous as you are Stu but not 70,000+.
