You, as a nation, are making threats to deliberately undermine the livelihoods of countless hard working Canadians. Friends/allies don't do that kind of thing. There are many Canadians now advocating for travel and product boycotts. It may be difficult, but with smart choices we can avoid the US market as much as possible. I am ex-us army and I have been living in Canada over 25 years. I can definitely tell you as an American living in Canada as a permanent resident that Canada for me and I do stress me is far more preferable been living in the USA as there is just less stress for me here than what I would face in the USA. For example I can get in my vehicle and drive anywhere I want and not be fearful if I am pulled over by a police officer . Don't get me wrong police officers are bad here in Canada as well but where I live they do not seem to be actively hunting you for quotas and generally my interactions with police officers here in Canada have been fairly decent. You should come down and visit and find a Canadian women down here as Canadian women are very beautiful add range from all different tribes.

Most of what Canada buys from the US are luxuries. Most of what the US buys from Canada are necessities. Canada has the ability to turn off the lights, heat, water, and oil & gas to a large portion of the US. Even everyday Canadians are rethinking how and where they spend their money. They'll take the pain to get the hit.
If you take out energy purchased by the US, and look at services in addition to tangible products Canada purchases, it's actually Canada in the deficit position. We buy more regular stuff that the USA buys from us.

Best time to visit is definitely during the summer (june/july). fall (sept/oct) or early winter (end of nov/dec) before it gets ridiculous cold.
