I found out recently that I was spending over $1,700 a year for a single line on Verizon with a grandfathered unlimited plan that they had been throttling for years and trying to convince us that they hadn't so when I recently dropped to Verizon and switched to Mint mobile because the T-Mobile service here is perfectly fine it's got coverage pretty much everywhere I went from $145 a month to $30 a month and my service runs pretty much the same but at nearly a fifth of the cost it's amazing
My wife and I are on Verizon, and this was pretty tempting. We have iPhones, but the problem came in when we asked about the Apple Watch’s. Even though Mint is just reselling T-Mobile, Mint does not support the stand alone watches. This was a deal-breaker for us. We use our watches a LOT, so this was another go. Pity, because this is a great plan!
Switched my entire household of 4 people over to Mint Mobile. Saved us over $2500 a year. We had some initial hiccups, like my Asian cellphone only has access to certain cellular bands. 99% of the time though we have great service. Additionally the past few years we get those quirky cards from Mint with Ryan Reynolds on it, which always gives us a laugh.
I moved mom to Mint, $15 a month 4gb of data, a bunch of months free, grand total around $200 out until June of 2023! That $200 was 4 months on her old plan on Sprint. A year and a half for $200, 18 months. And yes, she has an unlocked phone.
The time to switch to mint mobile was during end of the year promotions. There was promotion 12 months free. That was the best deal anywhere available.
@@kinglos7840 It was Christmas promotion and you needed to purchase phone and 12 month plan and you got 12 month free. However, you could use affirm and have just monthly payments.
My last provider was charging me $60 per month for unlimited everything, but only 2gb of high speed. Then they approached me with a deal to raise my plan for unlimited everything at $20 more. Lol. Nope. Switched to Mint a year ago and haven't looked back. Yeah you save a lot of money, but you also have the freedom to choose a plan that fits what you need. The last provider wasn't transparent with anything really. Got sick of it. Now I get 10gb high speed and unlimited everything. Only $25 a month. I pre pay every 6 months so it's $150. I sound like a commercial, but it's actually a good deal. When you pre pay in big chunks like that, you feel free from the monthly grind of paying the bill too. Love it.
The start up rate only appies to brand new customers. And is only valid for the first 3 months. Frankly, if you want the lower rates to continue you don't even sign up for the auto-renewel. When your time is drawing to an end you can get the 12 month plan. If you just do the renewel routine you will shocked at the leap in price. Mint is very honest about their pricing packages.
Just switched from ATT. It was a bit confusing at first because even after I removed my physical SIM, and rebooted, I had to go into Cellular in General Settings on an iPhone 12 and manually disconnected the number connected to the physical SIM. You have to select the phone number that is connected to the eSIM. After that, it was all good.
Same. Switched to Visible a couple of years ago, but when we traveled 2 hours away no Verizon towers, so phone, direction app didn’t work. Switched to US Cellular and no issues here in MO.
@@March5546 I'm in Mo., too (KC area). On a trip to Rapid City, SD along the I-29 and I-80 I lost service about 75 miles north of KC and didn't regain it until just outside of Rapid City. My wife has pre-paid AT&T. Her service was spotty. The third member of our party had post-paid Verizon and had no issues at all.
I've been using Mint Mobile for a year now, and here is my verdict after 12 months. Many of my incoming calls don't even come thru, and more often than not the callers get a message which states that the number that they are calling doesn't exist. Sometimes the callers don't even get sent to the voicemail where they could at least leave a message. Also, some text messages can take up to an hour or more to show up on my phone. I thought that the problem was with my phone. So, I bought a new one just to end up with the same issues. My experience with Mint Mobile has been a disappointment.
That's kind of random do you have the same issues on like T-Mobile? I remember when I switched to Mint recently I had to specifically enter in like technical information like port numbers and things and proxy servers. Do you remember entering any information like that into your phone? If not maybe that's the problem? I sometimes only get like two bars at home in my bedroom but I've never missed a call of course my phone also supports Wi-Fi calls as well so maybe that helps it?
I just switched to Mint Mobile and am having problem with voicemail. I got new Xiaomi phone but it did not work on Ultra Mobile, which is T-Mobile. So other reviewer mentioned data used up when he was not using data.
I tried to switch from ATT to Mint and Mint could not get my phone to work because ATT never unlocked my phone, which they told me they had done. I had no phone service at all for four days.
I had a similar experience but not because of a locked phone. Switched today to Mint from Tmobile but they couldn't get the phones to activate. I was only without a phone for about 7 hours. No phone so I had to chat on the computer. After 5 chats, no one being able to figure out what was wrong other than the signal in my area was weak even tho their site said I had a strong signal and it was the same signal I never had a problem with from Tmobile, 5 disconnects from chat, I finally told them I wanted to cancel and get refunded. Went to Tmobile store to reactivate my account and was on the phone with Mint for about an hour trying to get my account number and Pin number and also them trying to talk me out of canceling. Also when you call for information about Mint they try to pressure you into joining. I should have known better then plus the foreign accents on every person I talked to there but I was trying to save a couple bucks and made a huge mistake.
I live in Midwest and got spotty T-mobile and got spotty mint service. So if you like T-moblie you'll LOVE Mint. (Except for international calls. SUPPER expensive )
Sounds like very honest company to tell you that. I have boost mobile they were really great years ago. But then they got big and well you no how it goes from there
I've had the Boost deal of $35 a month unlimited and 10 data. After the trial period of Mint at 4 data $15 a month? You will only be saving $6 a month, and only getting 4gb. Not worth the switch at all.
Throwing this out there..Mint Mobile is an MVNO of Tmobile, so you are a using TMobile towers/service. Cricket for example is an MVNO of ATT, so if you want your ATT service back Cricket is one of the ways to go at $30/month amongst other plans.
I've been trying to swap to mint and after placing the sim card in the text and calls didn't work only data worked. Turns out mint sent me a bad sim and they are sending me a new one will update on results hope it works else I will have to ask for a refund swapping carries is such a hassle lol
Most don't save pictures to the SIM card anymore, they usually go on the phone or on a microSD card. And with Android and iPhone, you should be able to save your contacts to the cloud, then login with the new phone and retrieve them. You also may be able to export all your contacts to a file.
So if they provide a new SIM card, does that mean you get a new phone number? That wouldn’t be good if your current number is linked to many personal accounts, contacts, etc.
The SIM card is to access the cell phone network. If you want to 'keep your number', you will need to go through the 'porting' process rather than asking for a new number.
I switched from Consumer Cellular to Mint. CC uses US Cellular towers and Mint uses T-Mobile. I never had more than two bars. I had JUST gotten my CC number to everyone, so I wanted to keep my number. It was simple. Contact your current carrier and get a PIN from them. As you activate your Mint account, you will be asked if you want to keep your number. Enter your account number from your old carrier and the PIN. After a few minutes, your number will be switched. CC was a by the month plan, so I had no trouble. If you have a plan with another carrier, that has to be negotiated with the carrier and you must get them to unlock your phone. They will not be happy but have to do it. I needed a new phone anyway so I just bought an unlocked one from Amazon.
Nice video. I'm seeing mostly positive stuff on Mint Mobile and will probably choose them, since my 3G 4s phone desperately needs upgrading. I hope you don't mind me mentioning the Lily Munster look you seem to have going on. It was one of my faves from the 60's. :)
TRying to switch to Mint was easy (inserting new SIM, etc), but carrier T-Mobile refused to network unlock the phone. No unlock, no Mint service. Still negotiating with TMobile to effect unlock. Can anyone help kick TMobile?
After my 3 month plan at 4gb which cost $56.13? I'm only going to be saving about $6 a month, from my previous plan of 10 gb at $35 a month. It will be $75 plus taxes and fees for 3 months after the trial. So I was paying $35 a month for unlimited talk and text, and 10gb data. After the trial ends, it's about $85 for 3 months, with only 4gb. Boost plan is better.
Mint Mobile is a bargain....but..... Its not truly "unlimited".... you will be throttled or maybe even "cutoff" after 30-ish gigs data usage within 30 days (Phone calling services remain intact, however)...but that's a ton of "phone data" even if you use it as a periodic hotspot. Also, Mint Mobile utilizes T-mobile's towers and tech infrastructure....and they have very solid Nation-wide coverage. For the majority of users, Mint Mobile is a no brainer.
Mint is great but do a little research. East and West Coasters and those living in big city areas should have zero probs with Mint. If you live in the sticks (Fly-Over Country), check reviews of T-mobile in your area...Mint uses T-mobile infrastructure.
I think your math is a bit askew, about the 57%. Your $70 bill with AT&T was for 4gb service. You have the unlimited. It is very likely you are saving more than 57% if you had a comparable plan. I just paid $212.78 (taxes and fees included), for 2 lines for 6 months because of the 3 month free offer. So my Xfinity mobile bill of $114.63 per month just changed to $35.46 per month for the next 6 months. Quite happy with the savings.
If you are someone who earns a living with their phone like Uber or in sales then maybe Mint Mobile isn't for you. For people trying to run a bazillion frame rate for 4k gaming then maybe you need to spend that $$$ a month. But if you just need solid data speed, good cell reception, and solid performance switch to Mint. Imagine just about $200 a year for 4GB and unlimited calls/texts. I was skeptical until I switched. Now I would not go back to AT&T even at the same price.
@Night Rider I am still pretty new to Mint and my comment was based on whether a 'budget' mobile service would make sense when your income depended on it. I get overall faster data speed with Mint than I did with AT&T as well as full signal in areas that were not before. I would not switch back if AT&T was the same price.
True...if your livelihood is 100% phone-dependent, you must go with the most solid, robust carrier and plan that you can afford.....but a basic Mint Plan is VERY GOOD backup or second phone line option.
But that's the thing every single customer on mint has a referral code. If you actually read everything when you sign up because everyone you refer that signs up for it gets $15 and you get the same towards your bill. It's not like mint is personally requesting that people make review videos and they will give them a cut back. That's just part of someone who knows how to save money like this chick's way to Flex her money saving muscles is all.
What happens if you pay in advance for their 12 month plan, and decides to leave after a few months? Answer: You loose the money for the unused months of phone service. Crooks.
My sister has Metro, which is now part of T-Mobile, and there are times messages just don't get to her. Another friend has T-Mobile and I have the same issue sending her texts. And for those that don't know, Mint uses T-Mobile network. So while you may talk to different people for support, you are still on the same cellular network.
Nice video. You are nice looking. You don't have wedding ring in your video, but I bet you have a boyfriend. If not, I am interested. Sincerely, John, ESQ.

Mint mobile is stupid. There is a big difference in the quality of utilities that you are getting from so called big wireless. Mint is great but do a little research. East and West Coasters and those living in big city areas should have zero probs with Mint. If you live in the sticks (Fly-Over Country), check reviews of T-mobile in your area...Mint uses T-mobile infrastructure.
Informative video…nice work…keep‘em coming…👍🏻
A company with no technical support link on there site is not worth dealing with no matter what.
You can call them seven days a week from 5 AM to 7 PM. The number is right on their app under support. It’s an 800 number.
But do I get 1080p video streaming on data?
Use a VPN so the provider can't tell what kind of data you're streaming. ExpressVPN for example.
Good to hear Wade Wilson is a standup guy…!
Wait until the trial ends....
Thanks Melisa, this was interesting.
WOW!!! Great Video THANK YOU!!!!!
U really think he texted your phone to say that nope
It’s really hard to take someone’s review serious when they have a referral code 🤦🏻♀️
Yup. Entire “review” community has become a ad
THAT is their business plan. Every customer has the option of getting other people to use the service. If you don't like that, don't use them.
Wow! Mortisha in the flesh! I love it!
I buy my phone with my amazon chase credit card and I pay monthly without interest
Yup verizon is too expensive and turned my service off while they started me in the middle of the period
What happens if you pay in advance for their 12 month plan, and decides to leave after a few months? Answer: You loose the money for the unused months of phone service. Crooks.
P.S. the proper spelling is LAYMAN or LAYMEN
Looking like a vampire
Read millionaire fast lane by MJ Demarco the fire concept in is a absolute joke 🤣
Mint Mobile referral is scam, also customer service bad
I believe you.
I smell fish.
SCAMMERS! DATA GETS USED RIDICULOUSLY FASTER THAN OTHER CARRIER AND THEN CHARGES $20 FOR ONLY 3GB.
Mint mobile sell only some one know how to use computer or internet ..? need open some Agent sell ...
Looks like they paid you for this video
Metro pcs is very good and you pay monthly
Nope MetroPCS is trash
Love my 50 unlimited metro PCS but Im debating on the 15 month
My sister has Metro, which is now part of T-Mobile, and there are times messages just don't get to her. Another friend has T-Mobile and I have the same issue sending her texts. And for those that don't know, Mint uses T-Mobile network. So while you may talk to different people for support, you are still on the same cellular network.
Absolutely the worst the worst
Nice video. You are nice looking. You don't have wedding ring in your video, but I bet you have a boyfriend. If not, I am interested. Sincerely, John, ESQ.
mint mobile worse cell carrier out there i have 2 cells and home net i pay 110 for with tax from t moblile
you do know that Mint uses T-Mobile network, don't you?
@@javabeanz8549 yea but its unprioritized
I have that plan..its grandfathered, its good
But with the gas crunch, I'd love to box it down

My personal experience, Mint Mobile is complete trash. Stay away!
How so?
@@rosetorres4899 After paying for 3 mo of service out of nowhere the company cancelled my service. I called cust service and it took about 3 hrs between reps and supervisors to come up with an answer. They said they would refund my money (which hasn’t happened) and to pay again to get the service back. For the 3 days that I had it reception and internet speeds were bad. I tried to get my acc# from them to port to another company and I was given wrong info 3 times by supervisors so I wouldn’t get my number back. Company has shady sales tactics, not reliable and like I said I am still waiting for my refund. I would say stay away people, too many complaints online about them as well. Thanks for asking 👍🏼
@@1Kevingtz3 This sounds like total BS to me I have spoken to a few different Mint reps before switching never had anything but good service and know people who got nice discounts after having issues with their account so something fishy in your story bro
@@I.am_Groot well l don’t know if you read my comment but it reads “my personal experience” so if you don’t believe then I am sorry for you but for you to say “I don’t believe cause I know other people that have been treated nice” is just goofy bro. Not everyone is treated equally all the time and not everyone goes through the same experiences. Take note of that. Later!
@@1Kevingtz3 Nah 'bro' see if someone goes through what you described they don't start off with some vague 'stay away' comment. They have a 7 day money back for people that don't like the service. I gave you my opinion and really not concerned if you appreciate it or not. Have a good one tho!
Mint mobile is stupid. There is a big difference in the quality of utilities that you are getting from so called big wireless. Mint mobile throttles your data and the whole point of a smartphone is to be a ultra portable computer with no compromise portable internet. If you are going to use some shitty wifi then stop wasting your money on iphones and Android, use a tablet. You don't fool anyone when you with mint mobile. I might sound mean but I have your best interest at heart.
This was your experience or something you read online? I am getting faster data day and night with Mint Mobile over AT&T as well as full bars of service in places that never gave me that kind of signal before. Everybody throttles at some point but even at 70% the speed I am getting now its faster than AT&T ever was.
@@I.am_Groot I use a minimum of 300GB a month for zoom meetings and I got throttled to the point of barley using laptop website after a few days. It's dumb to have an iPhone or pixle if you can't use it to it's full potential on a portable private data connection. If I am going to use home internet then I would just use an iPad but I have to have a life and travel while communicating with people .
@@gotsm9959 So Mint Mobile is not a match for you. Cool. That don't make it less of a great service for most everyone else.
@@I.am_Groot I just have empathy for people that might not understand how much data they need. Lamen people can be fooled into thinking that their internet is fast because of speed tests and when they can,t download or use software they might think they need a new smartphone/laptop or tablet. Lamen users might settle for less because they don't know that they can use boosters for other smartphone providers and or don,t understand how to use a booster.
@@gotsm9959 Dude get over yourself. Most people are overpaying for equipment and service levels they do not need. Mint is a great way to get solid service for 1/3 the price.
