I recently had a cool experience with these chapters. I had been wondering and studying for a long time about the meaning and symbolism behind stones. In D&C and Revelation we learn the white stone represents a name. I knew there was something more to this.
Then during education week I was talking to my friend Daniel Smith. We were discussing the high priests robes. He wore 16 stones with 12 on his breastplate representing the 12 tribes. Daniel shared a cool insight that Jesus the high priest carries is on His shoulders and on His heart.
It then clicked for me. It was super simple. The stones can represent us, sons and daughters of God. This is illustrated nicely with the Brother of Jared.
The bother of Jared acts as a high priest and a Christ type:
    - He diligently searches and finds precious, white, clear, transparent stones (aka finds chosen people who are pure and clean)
    - He finds these stones in the ground and “moltens” the stones (we are fallen and Christ refines us in the furnace of affliction)
    - He did “carry them in his hands upon the top of the mount” (Jesus carries us in the palms of His hands and helps us ascend to the mountain/temple/celestial kingdom)
    - He arrives and presents the stones to God pleading on their behalf (Jesus will present us before God and represent us)
-He acts as a mediator talking to God and parts the veil (Christ is our mediator and advocate before God; He parts the veil giving us access to God)
-He lifts up the stones to God and God touches each lighting the stones (Christ raises us up from death before God and God gives us immortality, eternal life, and exalts us… lighting us)
Additionally I see connections to our temple. We act as saviors and high priests. We carry a name (aka stone literally in our white shirt pocket over our hearts) up through the temple (mountain) presenting the name before the veil to God.
There’s even more connections moving into the barges, across water, to the promise land, etc etc etc.
The scriptures are beautiful! God is good.

You took me to a new level with this lesson, i.e. the parallel to Abraham, the temple imagery, the need for action and contemplation in my life. Thank you. And I always appreciate how you show "the name is the lesson."
