I'd actually find a hostel hop thru-hike rather interesting. It could open up a world of hiking opportunities for people who aren't necessarily comfortable sleeping in the woods every night. Hike your hike and don't worry what anyone thinks. If I could afford to stay at a hostel every night during the first few hundred miles to avoid the bad weather I would definitely go for it! I don't care if someone decides to go hostle shelter or camping it is complete up to the hiker. Love the journey as I myself have only been a weekend hiker for the past two years. I've learned a lot and though I have nor ventured on my own that is a goal for myself. Keep going a do what is best for you. Thanks for sharing the different hustles on the trail
Do you Girl. I'm here to enjoy the trail thru your eyes no matter how you decide to do it. I followed your last AT thru hike and thoroughly enjoyed it. Living here in N. Georgia I wished many times I coiuld just hop on the trail and take off but life as a mom and Nana always had to come before life of a hiker. So you do the hike for you!!
Do your own thing. Bad sleep will make your hike a nightmare and possibly lead to you bailing. [Ear plugs and the falling rain app on my phone. Defeats most snoring, though not all!]
I am loving your AT adventure. I just read Grandma Gatewood’s Walk who hiked the trail at age 67. I am hoping to do a tamer version of the trail. Since I am at the foot of the PCT, I am far from the AT, so I am loving the view of the trail.

Great video Taylor and its your hike, do it the way you want to do it and not the way others think you should. Your doing one of dream things so do it your way.
Girl!! Its “Hike Your Own Hike” for a reason. I have done a few sections and when I get to the time when I can do a Thru Hike- I wont have any problem staying at hostels and or slack packing! I don’t care what anyone says! You are doing great. When out in the wilderness take care of yourself- and if that means a long day, a short day or a zero, that is what you need that day. Every day is going to be different depending on the circumstances.PS I would love to see the hostels!
When I went across country KOA camping cabins were great. Make yourself comfortable
Sweetie do what’s best for you doll we’re just watching you ! We love ya don’t worry!
creep
HYOH girl. And don’t let anyone else’s expectations become your standard.
We have seen the videos of the tenters, shelter’ers. It is good to know that many options are out there. Hike your own hike sister.
I actually love seeing all the different hostels you can stay at on the AT!
You're doing so well! You camp if you want. Its your trip and your life.
Do this for you, each person does their own trail. BTW, a pair of foam ear plugs can be a lifesaver while staying at a hostel. 🤙
I sleep well when I wear foam ear plugs but it is difficult to hear any alarm clocks
Hike your hike, enjoy the thru hike your way!
I respect your honesty!
stay wherever YOU feel gives you the best chance to finish the AT!
I love seeing the hostels! What a wonderful adventure either way!
Wow, the gear shop at the hostel is so well stocked!
Gotta hike your own hike and that includes where you sleep. 💛 the people that enjoy your content will keep watching! Especially those of us looking for inspiration for our own thru hike.
Don't apologize for doing what you want! You have already proved what you can do... now you can do what you want!!! Enjoy yourself!!!
Do what makes you happy! Enjoy the time on the trail and each day's accomplishments. You can't please everyone so please yourself! Your are an inspiration...however you choose to go!!!
Hike your own hike. We are glad that you share the fun videos
Girl, stay in all the hostels you want! I love seeing them and you shouldn’t have to struggle through wet gear for your entire hike.
Do you! The hike is all that matters, not where you lay your head. Everyone hikes their own hike. Enjoy the trail!
Yes! Do what you want to do!
Do your own thing. Bad sleep will make your hike a nightmare and possibly lead to you bailing. [Ear plugs and the falling rain app on my phone. Defeats most snoring, though not all!]
Around the bend supply store was amazing thanks for sharing.
Taylor! OMG. Do your thing! Love your videos!!😊
I am loving your AT adventure. I just read Grandma Gatewood’s Walk who hiked the trail at age 67. I am hoping to do a tamer version of the trail. Since I am at the foot of the PCT, I am far from the AT, so I am loving the view of the trail.
Cool. I had no idea what a resupply store looked like!
Taylor, hike your hike. You are the one walking 2000 miles. If someone wants to sleep in a tent, they are welcome to do that. I'll tune in regardless of where you sleep.
Thanks!
Hey make sure you let me know when you are ready for a hostile I would be more than happy to help out with that expense
Thank you Adam!!
That is where my best friend lives and just was there. I know your videos are delayed but please Taylor keep me informed on your anticipation day around there and the troutville area may have to make sure you have a nice resuply
You do you Taylor. Sleep where YOU want!
You do you Taylor!
