I've been crocheting off and on for the last 30 years, and I just have to say thank you. Thank you for making me feel more comfortable with the idea of crocheting my own clothing. It's a daunting task, but your tutorials make me feel like perhaps it just isn't as difficult as my brain is making it out to be!
Thanks for that! At first it was a little daunting and there are definitely still challenges, but it's been working out, and comments like this keep me going. Thank YOU! 😊💕
Love these as I always wear layers of clothes when it is cold ...I don't know what everyone else thinks about them but for me ...I love these they look very warm and cozy 💓❤
I'm glad I found your tutorial. I hoped there was a simple tutorial. I loved your way of explaining the pattern. I want to make these for my daughter. Thank you.
I learned a new technique recently called the "flat slip stitch join". I guess its usually used to join granny squares. I found that using this technique to join anything made with BLO slip sts, makes a totally seamless ( and flat ) join. The flat sl st will sit on the right side of your work.
That's it...imma need you to 🚫 with all these damn tutorials, your killing me with all this yarn goodness. Because of you my yarn stash is getting bigger...but I love it 😜😜😜your the best my 💃👑
LOVE this pattern I just started these, going to try make them bell bottoms by doing the leg half length then doing increasing single crochets around, and then do the bottom half of the leg. I have no idea how they will turn out but I love the design, one of the only pair of leggings that dont have loads of holes! I've also got chunky wool to use up too so I'm basically winging it haha

Is it possible to get your inside leg measurement so I can gauge how many I need to chin for the leg length please.
That sounds fabulous! I loooove matching sets! 🤩 For sure! i'm roughly 33 inches or 84 centimeters. 😊 Just be careful with the tension cause if you pull too tightly after each stitch that's going to be what shortens your length. 😁 Hope this helps!
I have got as far as the two leg panels but my issue is that there is no way they are going to stretch enough for me to be able to seem them from the waist to the crotch. The waist band is now perfect but the leg panels are about half the width I need them to be 😬 what have I done wrong ☹️
@@Sambolina_c_c Hmmm, If I had to guess you didn't do anything wrong, cause mine did too. The slip stitches are very small stitches that shrink up a decent amount, If you can, try on the piece and just pull it, stretch one end to the next and have them meet in the middle for both front and back. it should stretch to the width that you need since the waist band fits.😁 Let me know how that goes!

7:43 to figure out how many to chain for the leg, make a chain 6-8 inches long using the yarn and hook your'e going to use for the project, work in the pattern stitch until your swatch is square, and take a 4x4 or 5x5 inch guage (number of stitches per inch). Hi, I just started these leggings. I have my waist band at 48 rows & unstretched it fits perfect with a little bit of ease. Can I leave it at 48 rows instead of 58 rows before joining?
I freaking lovvvvve everything you make so need these in my life. You know what would also be super cute ...that I'd kill to see you make... Is a skater dress but with long sleeves and a cute big colour 😮😮😮 😯 😲 yeah....if only I could share the image in my head 🤣 anyways lovely hooking love everything you do thank you for doing it 💕
After wearing thee cute cute leggings for a while do you feel like they sag or become more loose? It is so funny how different projects look on the table and on your body! Sometimes makes me think I'm doing something wrong lol These are so stinking cute! Might try these with my new velvet yarn 🤩🙌🏾
I know! Sometimes I get really nervous when looking at a project on the table and think "is this what it's supposed to look like?" 😂 I wore these for a few hours and they were pretty solid. I think it helps that we used a smaller hook for the ankle cuff so it's tighter there. 😊 OMG yes! Let me know how it goes! I gotta get my hands on some! 😍
@@TCDDIY if you try this in velvet do not do BLACK lol.. not the easiest to see the black slips. I tried gray though, it's coming out nicely and I've never had a stretchy crochet velvet ..anything, so these will turn out cool and be something I've never seen!
@@sStellaAlexandraA Definitely! I've tried to record in black and it was an awful experience so you wont have to worry about any of that from me. 😂 Yay! Let me know how it finishes and fits!
@@JariCroom Girl, I made a King Size Mermaid blanket with it instead, but I did a lil calculations based on the yarn I was using, and for me making them a lil long at the bottom with cuffs, it was less than 3 skeins. I was using Bernat Blanket yarn which is a HUGE skein. I cannot remember the yardage, but it wasn't a lot because that yarn is soooooo thick!
Thank you! Since we work in measurements it would be the same process, just makes sure not to have your grip too tight so your work doesn't shrink up on you. Hope that helps. 😊
Hello, dear! How many grams/meters of yarn did it take for your copy? I will definitely make the gum the second color. The size of the leggings is slightly larger than yours. I have 1 skein for the main color = about 250 grams ~ 500 meters (4.5 hook), I don't know if it's enough, can you please tell me?
It all depends on the type of yarn you get, but for the most part they're pretty comfy. As for styling, it's pretty simple. You can never go wrong with a t-shirt, sometimes if i'm feeling fancy i'll try to make an interesting top, but t-shirts are the go to. 😊 Thanks for the question. 💕
I'm working on these now! Just curious, at 10:17 how wide was your leg piece? I have a similarly sized waistband, and when I finished one leg piece it was 6.5 inches wide naturally, 14 inches if stretched, and looks much smaller than how yours appears in the video.
Unfortunately we don't have the leggings anymore so I don't have that measurement, but if you'd like to skip forward in the video is shows how the inner thigh is made to ensure it fits around your thighs. 😊
Hmmm, sometimes I have the same problem. Is there an extra loop at the end that's kind hidden? Sometimes I do an extra stitch in there, but count it as one as I work just to help keep things even, but you can always send a picture through instagram DM if you'd like for me to take a look. 😊
I don't think normal slip stitches would give the stretch we'd want. If you're looking for another stitch you can try back loop singles. The ribbing would look a little bit different, but should give you a similar elasticity to the piece. 😊
I didnt understood how to change the sizes? You maybe said it in the video but english is not my first language 😶. If i want to do it for size m-l or for kids how can i adjust it?
You can try to replace them this back loop single crochet. The ribbing will look a little different, but the back loops will give the stretch that's needed for leggings. 😊
@@TCDDIY wellll I’m back with another question......7 months later😂 how many rows of slip stitching did you do for the first pant leg? I think I counted 29 rows I just wanna be sure. I just about your size maybe a little smaller so whenever I follow you patterns I just do exactly what you do and it fits perfectly every single time.😁
I know it's been about a month since you posted this, but hoping you are someone can help. I have a 38" waist and 46" hips, and prefer my leggings higher waisted. Do you have any tips for fitting to something like that?
No worries, i'm always here to help! When you're going in with the waist band. You're making it the size of your hips, so 46 inches and follow the pattern from there. The stretchyness of the slip stitches should stretch to accommodate your hips and still fit your waist when relaxed. 😊 Any more questions let me know!
I don’t know if I just missed it in the video but are you willing to share your height? I’m trying to figure out if I can make these as a gift while keeping it a surprise lol

I don't think normal slip stitches would give the stretch we'd want. If you're looking for another stitch you can try back loop singles. The ribbing would look a little bit different, but should give you a similar elasticity to the piece. 😊
Roughly, how long did it take you to make theses?
I had to figure out the pattern, but I'm guessing maybe 12 hours? Not too bad since its mostly the big leg portion. 😁
I didnt understood how to change the sizes? You maybe said it in the video but english is not my first language 😶. If i want to do it for size m-l or for kids how can i adjust it?
I show where to measure to make sure that it fits you perfectly throughout the video. 🤗
Can I replace slip stitches with single crochet?
You can try to replace them this back loop single crochet. The ribbing will look a little different, but the back loops will give the stretch that's needed for leggings. 😊
@@TCDDIY wellll I’m back with another question......7 months later😂 how many rows of slip stitching did you do for the first pant leg? I think I counted 29 rows I just wanna be sure. I just about your size maybe a little smaller so whenever I follow you patterns I just do exactly what you do and it fits perfectly every single time.😁
Can i used Red heart Ombre yarn to make these leggings
Of course!
How much yarn total do I need to make these?
I really like this. I have problems for buy a pants with my but and my belly en now i don't gonne have a problem with it 😍.
YAY! So happy we can help! 😁 Thank you!
@@TCDDIY awesome! Thank you!
Can I ask how many Yarn balls you used?
I used 1 skein of lion brand pound of love or about 1000 yards.
What size are these leggings please or what size are you?
This is for a size small. 😊
