I got my original Morton start from my citrus mentor Dr Bob Montyca. Somehow his selection was nearly always seedless and produced fingered fruit pretty often. It tasted pretty awful though lol. Yours seems to taste better. Great taste testing and point about probably just growing a Hamlin if they'd still have to protect the tree.
@@VirginiaFruitGrower this one came from Fruit Wood nursery when they offered citrus, good to hear there are off types with improved flavor. I planted the seeds out and will see if there are any x Meyer offspring 🙏🏻
Very interesting you noticed carrot flavor in yours 🤔 I'll have to think about that next time I taste one. The fruit we tried from Stan's was mostly navel + grapefruit taste.
@@themulberries I might have picked it too early based on the green bits inside and the plant was also suffering so I doubt the fruit reached it's maximum potential. Hoping the next fruits will be a little better 😁. If this winter is mild again my outdoor graft might survive and set some fruit 🤞🏻

@raregrowsNJ That's true, I'm crossing my fingers for you! Our outdoor grafts are still young but I can't wait for them to fruit.
