Cliff You have to dig up the TRASH to get to the TREASURE. When sweeping with your search coil pay attention to the length of the tone, short tones indicate smaller objects such as coins. Good Luck and have FUN!
I just bought a 505 from craigslist from someone who bought it for his wife but she never used it. He didn't give me the DVD that he said it came with so I'm glad I saw this video.
I have one I used twice and found all kinds of old trinkets... The best places are like Beaches... The sand eats things... I'd take 99 for it just put it to good use....
I kind of inherited one from a cousin who passed. I am getting a lot of false non repeating signals and it's driving me crazy. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this or is there a DVD that I could purchase to help me figure this out?
Hie George, Really difficult to tell you what is causing these signals, it could be anything from hot rock on up. Best advice is to go out and dig these signal. Keep your Coil to the soil...
There being no sepration between the Gold and Silver spectrum/sounds really boggles my mind.... Why the hell would you make them the same? Why wouldnt they get their own tone at LEAST

I would use all metal mode. Be ready to dig a lot of trash, ya never know when that Trashy Tone will turn to Treasure.

Entry level detector, going to get the same tone on all targets.

So really you paid over $1200 for 2 detectors.. You can't get the 505 for $99 unless you spend over $1000 folks Just trying not to confuse people.
