I first started listening to The Flatliners because I saw one of their video thumb nails and saw how high his crashes were so I said I need to see this, as a drummer my self I thought "how can he reach those" but shortly after the song started I didn't care because his buttery smoothness caught my attention. If you were to put the video on mute he looks boring but when you turn on the volume you wonder how is he playing at that speed (which ever song it is) and look so smooth and slow. I am glad someone made this video so I can get a real sense of how he plays, thanks and God bless
A drummer friend and I saw them live a few years ago and he couldn't get over how effortless Paul makes drumming seem. That and the fact he only uses 1 bass drum pedal which seems almost impossible on some songs. We spent most of the show watching him play with our jaws to the floor. Awesome band and such cool dudes too.
awwww he looks so bummed that he fucked up the fill in Birds of England.I know that feeling.. also hard to recover sometimes ! amazing drummer though dude ! you continue to inspire me !
exactly the same here! I remember that the very first time I saw them, stupidly high cymbals and still makes it look totally effortless. I still think its super awkward where he puts his crashes but to each their own!
Does he look uncomfortable? I think the video speaks for itself: his cymbal setup fits his style of playing, that is all that matters! (I also tend to think he gets a better view without any crash in the way, but that could be wrong)
does anyone else find this insanely satisfying to watch?
mad finesse going on here. i love this dudes style.
Is this the smoothest drummer in punk rock? I mean Crash placement controversy aside, you cant deny that he is so fluid.

I should download this video in case TH-cam goes down, I would not live without it.
love how The Swellers are making fun of the high position of Paul's cymbals at 05:15
I just love The Swellers.
you have your crashes so high up and still make it look totally effortless! gah!

Without a doubt.
One of the best drummers of the genre so far

Greg from the Menzingers in the background right behind Paul
It's amazing what he did at 6:00 min

This is better than sex.
@@Fernandoadl slide technique
I was looking for the double pedal lol.
FUCKING AWESOME !!!
I always end up staring at him when I see them live. I do this only because of his cymbals being way too high!

smooth like butta
Fuckin Daggers man. Good stuff.
So when is the 2021 version coming out?
He's like a combination of Bill Stevenson and Robo from Black Flag 🤖
Forelimbs job is a sexual thing guys
This dude's a great drummer, don't get me wrong. But what the hell is the point of those high crashes? How could that possibly be comfortable?
