    It’s very simple:
Each school should have different prices for majors . Teaching degree should not cost the same as a computer science degree. When the payout for the initial job after 10 years is probably a difference of half or more.
We should encourage people to chase education, not penalize them.

That’s the argument, The institutions are not in this to help you out they are in this to take as much money from you as they can. Oh you don’t have a hundred grand to pay that’s fine will give you a student loan with interest or the government will give you money to help pay but that’s taxpayer money its a whole thing man.

No way colleges would allow that. It’s all about the money and the power for colleges

@@MiamiCuz305yes basically colleges is about getting students in from high school and get money either directly by them or a loan. I went for a computer science degree but you know I didn't have money so I had to got to community college first I was almost done and basically over the spam of 3 years a lot of the classes I had to take weren't even needed for me to learn but I can't finish and get my degree and move on because I'm getting money from fafsa and the college requires you to take other classes unrelated to what you are studying

Very little education going on. Lots of schooling though. Huge difference. Encourage education, discourage schooling.

I am fortunate to be of the group that benefited from my major. I have a masters degree in economics and it has opened the door to very analytical jobs that pay very well. That being said, the debt burden from that degree was immense. I was only able to pay it off because I was lucky to purchase a home a the bottom of the market just after the crash and then sold it a decade later for a huge profit (most of which went to my student loans). I understand this is not the norm so I am very grateful. I had $120k in debt that was very burdensome for a long time.

He found a job as a truck driver that paid significantly more and is now driving trucks something that never required college at all just your ability to drive a car

Is not the same story for everyone. Just because it didnt work for some doesnt mean it wont work for others.
Not just that but besides high school not preparing students for college, many people at colleges do not realize that college is not just about going to class and going home. Is about connectioms, internships, research and whatever else your career requires

he's not saying don't go to college. he's simply opening up new opportunities because it's a common misconception nowadays that those who don't go to college are dumb. you do not need to go to college to have a successful career, and oftentimes, the drawbacks outweigh the benefits

Suppose someone could get a college degree in a STEM major at an accelerated pace while turning a marginal profit.
Surely then, the degree is worth it? Especially since going to college has the added benefit of putting you into contact with the sorts of people who can recommend you to employers.

There should be a loan cap. They can't borrow more than $100k-that's it-and pay the rest upfront. No college or university should put this into effect. The first two years of college are basic core classes. You can take those at community colleges for $2 per semester, not $10k like universities. Nobody cares what you did the first two years in school.

Charlie Kirk's fear-mongering about college degrees leading to McDonald's is misguided. Education opens doors to diverse career paths beyond fast food. Ignoring the value of degrees undermines the hard work and dedication of students striving for success. Let's focus on empowering students with opportunities, not spreading fear about their futures

@@andriesbritz6061 Anything can be self-studied, but it doesn’t give you the advantage that a programmer who learned with professors has. The problem is that many people don’t even have a plan and think school is an easy shortcut to success without hardship. However, it provides you with 100% more opportunities thanks to a degree that shows you dedicated four years to studying and personal growth.
But if, during those four years, you only went out drinking or didn’t really dedicate yourself, then it’s not worth it. Those great achievers who left school did so because they were exceptional geniuses. You and I need to study and work hard to reach their level.
Never try to reach success based on someone else’s goals. They have their own path to success, not yours. Create your own goals and path to success, don’t copy others.
