@@Trash0000 The misuse of the word 'parasocial' is not a big deal. At the end of the day, nothing good can come from watching a stranger who will never know you for hours on end (especially if they're as big as Lud and QT, where there's almost no chance of having your chat messages read). It's a vice, a thing people use to escape the harshness of reality. The furtherment of discouraging the act of sitting at home, watching strangers entertain you for hours of your life as opposed to going outside and making real experiences is only a good thing.
QT and Maya are such a great combo
I could enjoy anything these two did. They're a great combo act. Like Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Or even Tina Fey and Alex Guarnischelli ("Beat Bobby Flay," episode ""Fey Vs. Flay": they worked to get into Bobby's head and succeeded).

As someone who lost their mom when I was young, making jokes is really the only way to cope. Like it’s such an awful thing and I miss and love my mom so much, but making jokes about it makes it feel a little less awful

my dad died almost 2 months ago now and I'm 22. I really appreciate what QT said about how she copes, not everyone does it that way but to me that's the healthiest way to go about it. I love my dad more than I will ever love anyone also

When I was in university I was nearly admitted to a psych ward which was total overkill for my situation. I was depressed, yeah, but I wasn't self-harming or a danger to myself or others. I needed a consultation with a psychiatrist and for some reason there just wasn't a facility to talk to one without being committed. Eventually I found out that my university had a psychiatrist on staff that multiple people had neglected to tell me about, and that helped me be okay.
There are definitely people who need extra help, but bluntly shoving everyone with a mood disorder into the one box doesn't work.

Thank you for sharing your story about your mom. It resonated so much with me.
I lost my mom 6 years ago, when I was 22. I had just got my own appartment and really needed her. But she was in the middle of cancer treatment and I was fighting with her all the time because she wasn't taking care of herself and almost didn't do the surgery.
I feel really bad for mourning her and the relationship we could've had and that I got PTSD because of everything, because I think that it's worse for children who loose their moms.
So thank you again for sharing ❤️

This is why I prefer the company of women over men. When my bff killed herself, those supportive sighs and distraction beers were not enough. My guy friends give me complete silence whenever I even mentioned her name. They never even suggested they wanted to hear about her. Sometimes ignoring emotions is not an option for some of us. Like I get it. If that's what you need as a bro, I'll give you that. But bros should be sensitive to what other bros need and when they need more direct emotional expression. And they tend not to be.

Hey qt, I lost my mom last year, and your missing your mom spiel really hit close to home. I’ve broken down a few times and just wish I could hug her or tell her I loved her. I also cope with jokes and everyone I know who doesn’t have dead parents gets SUPPERR uncomfortable, but it’s the way to go. I can’t change shit so just rolling with the punches and laughing at it is better than crying about it, even though that can be healthy to do at times too.

Her theory sounds completely illogical however. She has the idea that raw fear is somehow a less pressing feeling than feeling stressed, and that Maslow's hierarchy justifies that, which it isn't, and which it doesn't. Maslow's hierarchy is not about which needs are "superior", it's about the natural evolution of needs as a society modernises.
@@m_uz1244 I think the idea is that horror movies tap into the “safety” section of the needs, which is a more basic and therefore more powerful motivation than esteem, which is a common source of anxiety.
If you’re afraid, your motivation to feel safe will override the motivation you have to feel liked, or competent, or whatever higher-order thought is causing you anxiety, since Maslow’s theory is that you need to satisfy all the motivations in a lower stage in order for motivations in the next stage to arise
@@alex7435 Yes, exactly. What she's missing however is that the need to feel safe is not any lesser than the pain of anxiety. She isn't helping herself, just redirecting everything to a different place.

its insane how there was place in rehab where u guys live, I have tried to end it and to runaway multiple times I had a lot more issues, and it took 6 months to even get therapy and I was threatened to be taken away to rehab even tho there was no place.
I know this video is a year old but with guys and the "not talking about it" part. When a guy gets it off his chest and all his friends recognize it and show support even if it is a "that's shitty" that means a lot more than you'd think cause we're told our whole lives to never talk about our feelings and never show our problems and to deal with it on our own. So that small bit of support and the silent conversation knowing that your bois are gonna be there for you and have some fucking fun is all we need.
