    I don't understand this game because I never played.. but at 4:37 did you just throw a health pack at your enemy to heal them just so you could enjoy the moment of killing them for longer? 😆True 'chivalry' right there.

    What are your feelings on combat since the update? For some reason my KD pre patch was usually in the 10-5 range and now I struggle to maintain a KD of 2 most matches. I'm honestly not sure what happened. Maybe the player base just got better, but a lot of it feels latency related despite my ping never going above 30.

      I recognize the latency issues. Hits from opponents will connect despite me not even being near them, which is a little frustrating.

      I got the feeling they reduced the no-hit timer for riposte. Making it much harder to take on groups

      Player population has dropped off a bit so you'll find the average skill of players increasing.
      What are my feelings about the combat since the update? Oh boy... here we go.
      The way I felt about the combat post-patch is the same way I felt about it pre-patch. There's still hit-registration problems, animation issues (they either don't play or they're incredibly janky), archers (and to a lesser other projectiles) are completely unbalanced and ruin melee, and fast weapons are the obvious choice for a lot of fights because they have twice as many options.
      Fast weapons can interrupt every weapon slower than them, and they can also just substitute in a light attack instead of a jab after they've been hit and they'll more often than not still interrupt. Basically, you lose initiative with a slow weapon through no fault of your own. This isn't a huge problem for duels, sometimes this change in status quo can be interesting, but for team fights and 1vX all it does is encourage people to constantly attack into you without much thought.
      I guess the spam is why the active parry mechanic exists with ripostes and counters, which allows you to defend whilst attacking, but all that does is encourage even more spam. It doesn't address the problem because players can still spam attacks into you when you aren't looking directly at them because the active parry only works in front. Also, your opponents can get their own active parry which just makes team fights messier and harder to read, or your teammate can just 'feed' an attack into the opponent you're about to hit and now they have active parry and stop your attack that you already committed to.
      There's also a lot of other questionable design choices as far as the combo, active parry, and cleave mechanics are concerned. Like why they even exist. What's their point when all they do is contradict the flow and pacing of the game and also add in abstract layers of difficulty.
      At a glance I cannot tell who has active parry, or cleave, with their attack and that's a huge readability concern for anything outside of 1v1s. Chivalry 1 didn't need active parry because long parry lockouts stopped players from constantly spamming into you. I also really despise how attacks cleave through blocks. This is an interesting idea on paper because it makes all of the X in a 1vX defend, rather than just one of the X like in Chivalry 1 or Mordhau. We start to run into issues when you literally can't see an attack because it goes through your teammates player model first. A good example of this is that I can stab an enemy, they will block, but their friend directly behind still gets hit by my stab because it passes through. This not only doesn't make sense, it's just not intuitive to have to block whilst you have someone in-between you and an attack. It's also not intuitive trying to block an attack you can't see through no fault of your own. Also, this adds even more things to keep track of in a huge team fight and it compounds the problem of fights being a huge mess at times. There are also issues with what factors play into an attack cleaving through a block. Heavies always cleave (unless someone counters you), and lights only cleave with certain weapons (or regardless with a riposte [I think?]). I have to keep track of the weapon type, the attack type, and whatever defensive option my teammates are using if they're in-between me and the attack. It's just far too much to follow and it's a bit of a design nightmare having all those variables.
      As far as combos are concerned they don't serve a purpose at all. It's much better for me to go into a regular attack, or to block-cancel into a counter, rather than continue with a combo because it's not only faster but gives me way more options (and as pointed out earlier fast weapons or a jab interrupt a combo anyway).
      I'll discuss all of this in more detail and provide better explanations in a game design video much (MUCH) later down the road, but hopefully this hacked-together collection of thoughts provides some insight into my issues with the combat. I didn't even talk about counters, stamina, and attack manipulation because I'm guessing we don't want to be here all day.
      TL;DR: These games have a lot of issues, and Chivalry 2 is still a buggy and broken mess.

    do you stream? If so, what service? I just got into the game and trying to see what I can learn from your videos. I have no idea what weapons work great. I'm mainly doing duels in free for all mode.

      Most likely the halberd at the moment. I enjoy playing around with how much reach it has, and the stab and overhead does a decent amount of damage.

      He probably doesn’t need them at that point :) They were present in the previous vids, so I would venture to guess that it’s an aesthetic choice.

      A lot of these clips were from a couple months ago where I had that setting turned off before I even knew what it did. I have damage numbers on pretty much all the time now but to be honest I don't really notice them.

      It does put me against console players but for some reason it doesn't tell you who's on what platform when you play on PC.
