It’s crazy how few matches they actually show, it’s like one 5 minute match then an hour of random talking, even if they’ve finished early show the replays of some of the other fights from each round
Only really realistic when they hit Top Cut or if they could set up more than 1 stream table. Even with a second stream table that’s banking on one game finishing and the other not.
Something that Magic is starting to do is record a backup stream match that they commentate on after the main one. It’s also noticeable because they jump right into the next game without having to pause for sideboarding. I get that it requires a whole extra stream setup and an extra live editing team, but I agree that it’s way too long of a wait between matches. Poor commentators.
@@elesegerardo most set ups that I’ve seen is one table for TCG/VGC/Go so they’d have to reconsider that set up. Great idea just logistics on TPCi’s end
I mean have you been to a regional? Lol. There’s only, at max, 9 rounds of Swiss on day one and it takes all day as it is. And you need each game to finish before the next round to start. So it’s unrealistic to have more than one game per round.
I thought the same thing, and I went to the Hartford CT regionals for the 2023 season. Tbh, it was a bit disappointing. VERY limited vendors, not anywhere to sit to watch the games, and not much going on for anybody that isn’t actively participating in the tournament. At Hartford, I never even saw the casters or a single interview either, it was all “backstage” I guess. I still love the game and stuff, just was not quite what I had imagined. For me, it didn’t seem worth it and watching online is a better fit. I imagine it varies from city to city, but my experience was pretty meh. I hope you enjoy if you go though!
To comment on the previous reply, I definitely recommend that if you're not playing, to instead go to nationals or even worlds as a spectator as those have more activities for you to do, especially worlds (and way more seating while im comparing). As for vendors, regionals are pretty light on them, usually about 3-4 booths off to the side selling mostly cards but also random Pokemon merch like plushies and Japanese imports. Nationals are also the same but they have recently been featuring a Pokemon center. As for worlds, they also have the more extragavant Pokemon center but no additional vendors, at least for the two worlds I've competed in. But if you do compete, try and go with at least someone else. Even if you don't do the best, you can have someone to talk to between rounds on how the tournament is going. Something to take into account is also stuff outside the tournament. Some cities are just more exciting to visit than others. Orlando or San Diego regionals are more exciting than say Hartford (I competed at all three this year) since there's other cool stuff to do in the city besides just Pokemon. With this in mind I do highly recommend going at least once for the experience. Source: been going to tournaments for 11 years.
This was the first event I attended and had a wonderful time. There was limited sitting to watch the stages, but still worth standing if you were really into the match. Also had the chance to participate in a side tournament and had to battle Eric Rios (2022 European champion), of course I was obliterated but had so much fun! Not a lot of vendors, but just enough to make it worthwhile. Not there to shop, just to be with other pokemon fans. So if you don't set your expectations too high you would really love it! Hope you get to go to one soon!
Omg..poor commentators.... they often need to fill waiting/prep time with so much talk. They shoukd help them with between battle events(like comic con events but centered in pokemon)....like customes competitions...stuff like that
90 percent of the players use hack Pokemon so to see team building you see the software they building on. All my mons are trained by me. No hacks. All my shinies i use are all from my eggs or raids.

WAYYYYYYY TOOOOOO MUCHHHHHHH FILLER
There’s gotta be a way to show more battles and less talking.

There's a TH-cam channel that shows only the battles but I completely forgot what's it called. If anyone knows let me know as well 😅

The sets and backgrounds at Barcelona are gorgeous
Hey, does anybody kow annything about that european regional championships map they had at the interview room? It looks very cool
Nikola's bounce back was tight af!! We love to see it.
I really want to go to these events. They look like they can be so much fun to be a part of.
Cartoon King 👑 Artoonist: Hope you have fun 😊❤

Amazing games! Edu, my boy, with the W! I hope that you won this tournament, for Pt.
This one was full of excitement
Why do they only use the school battle stage in these official tournaments?
It's the least glitchy looking stage.
If they used Larry's gym the pokemon would clip through the floor
Wow these games are in the Future
90 minutes before the first match is ridiculous. That is a horrible way to keep an audience
Cartoon King 👑 Artoonist: Let the battle begins 😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Cartoon King 👑 Artoonist: At least I watch ⌚ some of the action
Tracked First!
Does Pokemon still plans to do online competitions anymore because we've only had one in Scarlett and violet so far
Why is that one caster seemingly incapable of pronouncing "Tornadus" correctly? 😂 Wonder if he pronounces "tornado" in the same, incorrect manner? 🤔

These Announcers are significantly worse than the normal group
So boring, nothing of interest happens at all.

Some of these players dont look like they take baths. Jesus
