Telling my age here, every time Mike dumps a bucket of dirt in the trailer it reminds me of Pig Pen on Charlie Brown with that cloud of dust just hovering around it. The rotating bucket shot was really cool.
You couldn't have a kid called pig pen in a cartoon today! The PC police would be all over that! Now Peppermint patty could self identify as a male and have a bi racial child with another girl and nooo problem...
Good morning from MidMo. 66F and clear. Porch is nice this morning! Last rain here was Monday- the southern tip of the derecho system dropped a couple inches. That greener things up. Someone commented that the soil was like flour poured on the kitchen table dry. Good analogy. The bucket cam intro was nice! I was just glad you didn’t move the bucket up or down or engage the drive - that would have kicked in the vertigo! I counted 8 buckets in the first load but there might have been one slipped in I missed. You’re right about the soil being lighter - I’d guess 20% lighter than even normally wet soil. Even more lighter than what you pulled from the pond.
Intro gave me motion sickness this morning when I tried to watch at 9 am. Been queasy most of the day. Just finished watching at 6 pm. Great job Morgans. Rained for last 2 days here in upstate South Carolina. Have a productive day.
Here in SE Michigan, if the weather forecast calls for storms, we get nothing. If it calls for isolated showers, we get drenched. Being a weather forecaster has to be one of the best jobs, they're hardly ever right and nobody seems to care. But we have been getting some rain. Hello to Hunter and all of the Morgan's
I like the Moritz trailer too because it has the scissor lift rather than a straight single or double cylinder set up. The scissor set up is more forgiving when you dump on un level ground. It doesnt put torsion force on the cylinder shafts causing them to wear out pre-maturely. If I get one it will have the wireless remote so I can tailgate a load with out getting out of the truck.
Well where I am it rains every 3 or 4 days been a bear haying this summer but made it through and finished all fields last Friday . This week is clean out the log loading landings and watch the Morgans
Bad storm last night. Damage our patio cover. Was outside hanging onto it in 65mph winds and a lightning storm trying to keep it from breaking our bedroom windows. Was standing on an aluminum ladder trying to cut the ceiling fan cord off the gables that I had zipped tied onto. Felt like the Priest during Caddy Shack! You could sell that top soil here in Texas for a mint. Would love to have all that in my yard, or garden beds.
Melissa ,love your wild forest girl hair. Mike I have seen the pulverized dirt in super dry conditions actually mix with air in our main skid trail and would roll out "wakes" from the skidder tires much like wakes from a boat. It looks like you have "airated" dirt also. We would have either A foot of fluffy dirt or a foot of soupy mud. Great work and great video. Thanks again.
Great video Mike !👍👍 I sure do like the Moritz dump trailer and having one around your place allows you to get things hauled on the spur of the moment when needed! Hope you got Hunter out for BK DAY so he could have his day!!! 👍👍 Liked the new “DOO” look Melissa, you wear it well. You’ll have plenty of time to draw up some landscaping plans once the foundation forms are in place. Figure where you can plant your Pines then 👍👍. Keep having fun with it. Thanks for sharing with us and allowing us to ride along.
Morning. Sunny and hot in Hawaii. Tradewinds are back today so a bit cooler. Had rain for about a week but it’s passed. Good ‘cause I’ve got chainsawing to do! 😊
REALLY liked the music in the first 2 minutes 12 seconds of the video. Made it sound more professional. Like a full production documentary. Reminded me of an African safari, watching herds across the plains or mountain climbing in the Himalayas, something very action-oriented. I really liked it. Gave your production work a whole new flavor.
Finally got 1 good dry day in NC to rake rocks out of pasture. Checked weather and the next 4 days called for rain. We jumped in the truck and headed to Zelie to see my brother in law. Rained almost all the way up. Just before PA it stopped raining. On leveling the pad mine required 4 feet of fill on one end.
Good morning Morgan's, It has only rain were I live in north central Iowa 6 tenths in the last 6 weeks very dry for this area. I could see the dirt slump at the beginning of your video as you were pushing it to the low point. Looks like powder. Lot of areas need a drink. Mike you are definitely a pro with the equipment great job.
Good morning all, Phil from Kansas City here. Spent the week end cutting cedars and enjoying the timber. Back to the Stihl store today. Have a day and keep yourself and other safe.
What a clean way to move dirt. I had a backhoe that I did a lot of work with and I looked like I had rolled in a pig pen after a couple of hours on it..
Good morning Morgan's, from hot and humid East Tennessee! We finally got a very needed an beneficial 2 1/2" of rain Saturday! Y'all definitely need some, especially to help with compacting your pad. Tell Hunter hey, and it might not hurt to take Melissa to DQ! 🍦 😉👍
Weather in Mt. Pleasant SC: warm and humid. We went through a very dry July but have had plenty of rain lately. Keeping an eye out for approaching (possibly) hurricanes.
I wanted to let you know that you have a very wide and vast taste in music which is fantastic. Lovo how you opened this video in particular, loads of drama to the music. I am a professional musician working on getting my 70s horn band back into the mainstream and thanks to TH-cam, all of this is possible.
Melissa’s hair did look good. Whatever process she went through to have it like that, probably by a lot of circumstances, it looked nice. Ground work is going along nicely. Lots of dust.
Been in the upper 80's and lower 90's here in New Mexico (Edgewood). Just started our monsoon season. Scattered showers every day, hit or miss for our chance for rain. We have the Sandia Mountains just west of us and get the winds through the canyon.
Finally got some rain in eastern CT on Sunday, maybe an inch. I have a 6’x10’ Bri-Mar dump trailer, and I love it. Don’t use it every day, but when I need it, it’s ready to go!!! Great video Mike, thanks for sharing!!!
Central Pa.here . No rain, it is dry. Only had rain one day out of last 40 days. We worried about wells and springs, . Went to our cabin yesterday creek is almost dry. I never seen that in my 65 years.
I live in Home PA we had a little bit of rain last night but it is so dry my small creek has dried up. The brick house looks great since the last time I saw it.
Just wanted to let you know I have the same f150/ dump trailer setup but my trailer is 14' 12K rated.... look at your tires on your truck. Mine had P rated tires on the truck and didn't handle a load like I wanted.... I changed to E load rating 10 ply tires on my f150 and it made a WORLD of a difference towing. Also noticed you had to use the trailer brake as it was pushing the truck a little... My tires helped a bunch with that... and on the F150 the brakes are the short fall on that truck.... keep an eye on the front brake pads... mine started crumbling from the heat and needed to be replaced while under the 36K mile warranty. The second set made it to 45K miles and they crumbled from the heat as well. I upgraded to the PowerStop Truck and Tow brakes and rotor kit for about $400. Man wish I had done that from the start.... NIGHT AND DAY better. (I only tow about 10-15% of the time and max I have towed is about 10K) I had a F350 diesel before and this rig is soooo much better all around, couldn't be happier.
Delaware has received more than normal rain this summer. It is mid August and everything is green. Normally this time of year the lawns would be brown. Have a day!
Last! Hope everyone had a great day. Bad dry here also. We'll start getting our precipitation next month and straight to winter I'm thinking? Be safe. Tell the family hello. Have a day!
Here in iowa some places are real short. But the whole state would like to see some rain. This past week we had straight line winds up to 100 mph. I have never seen that many trees down in our town. We were out of power for a week. Storm path 40 miles wide and 170 miles long plus or minis. Long.
Thank goodness the walnut tree made it! I almost didn’t watch out of fear that you were going to cut it down 😞. I think it has rained here 9 out of every 10 days for 2 months now. You have “powder” for soil. Marcus in Chesapeake VA.
Hot hot n hot in Phoenix Arizona 118-120. But dry doesn’t matter still hot. Great videos and glad to see people working on their own projects. Thanks again M&M
Nothing like moving talcom powder! Mike your lady is beautiful in more ways than her hair, she's a great helper, mom, loves the outdoors, is not afraid to try new things! Great love in your family!
That is really dry! It is in the 100's and last night (FINALLY) it rained a bit - I think 1/2" or more in two shots. Our plants were needing it - only 1" deep damp and then dry like this but hard pack. Deep water has stopped flowing off the hill at us and heading to the creek. Drying out waiting for Hurricane or Fall Rains. Winter is normally cool and clear, but last year cloudy and wet. Waiting on this year.
Even in Bedford county outside of Clearville, my winter runoff creek still has water. It's not flowing but I have seen it dry many years. I must be getting your 50% of showers!
We hit 123 deg up here in the sand hills in Logandale Nv yesterday. supposed to be hotter today. We have had 67 100 deg plus days this year and over 120 days w/ no measurable rain. That much dust would earn you a nice fine here in Clark county
Here in Denmark we had an awful July with lots of rain and wind, but August so far has been sunny and warm and light to no wind - so now we enjoy summer 😊
Here in my part of NY’s Hudson Valley pretty much every time the forecast calls for rain, it doesn’t. But the bright side is the pool water is staying warm. BTW I purchased my dump trailer in Carlisle PA.
💥 Looks like you’re working in a desert. That soil is about as dry as it gets. I think you could fill the trailer a bit more with it being that dry and light weight. *Keep on tractoring!* 👍
I don't know about W. PA, but out here in Northern CA, we had 112F the other day, 104-107 most days. Had a major lightning storm that started around 0305 PDT and ended with a strike on a utility pole 3 houses down from me. Lucky it didn't hit my 80' Amateur Radio tower. The detonation was so loud, I thought something exploded. Then we immediately lost power until around 1500. Glad I have that 10KW diesel genset. Newsom is crying about power shortages in the state. Too hot to do any work with the L2501 unless I do it early AM. That KX080 flat gets with the program. Archie sure grew up in a hurry. He seems to give the other two a run for their money, lol. Stay safe. Cheers.
Got smashed with rain in the last 2 weeks here in South East Australia. Flooded roads, I cant get the tractor or the skid-steer out cause they will churn up the track too much. Total deluge. 9 little dams are full and there was water bubbling out of the ground...its awesome. Never seen it like this, hoping it breaks our drought and helps the bush regrow after the fire. BTW - deluge = 2 inches in 3 days......all things are relative :-) Having a day!
Well Mike you asked about the heat and how dry it is , I took a picture of our thermometer this afternoon and it was between 115 - 120 degrees here. You walk outside and you can feel the moisture leaving your eyes
Mike I have the same F150 and the same size dump trailer and I can haul and dump about twice the amount of dirt that you are moving. I don't think it would hurt anything to load it up. My wife and I really enjoy watching your channels. Keep the videos coming!!
Here in Herndon, VA we have had several days of torrential rain. My sump pump last week came on over 200 times. My second (original) sump pump came on numerous time too and it very seldom comes on at all. That said, we've had lots of rain this month so far.
More often than not, here in north Georgia, if the weatherman predicts a 30% chance of rain, we’re gonna get wet. But lately the showers haven’t lasted more than 20-30 minutes. It’s incredible how dry and dusty that topsoil is!
Our weather here in western New York ( half way between Pittsburg and State College and then straight north) is very similar to yours. We have had a very nice summer this year. A little dry now.
78 degrees and rain yesterday which always cools it off. Today little cooler but we are in what they call the near North of Ontario, Canada. That’s about 2hrs and 20 minutes north of Toronto on 400 hwy.
You gave me a lead in when you started talking about the dump trailer vs a dump truck. I always thought you should have an old 4x4 duely dump box with buckshot mudders and a 460! I have the perfect solution though. Skip the Bronco, I think they are cool too, but for the $$$ I know they will bring I wouldn't do it. Go buy the exact truck you have but in an F 350 with a Diesel and electronic 4:30.1 locking axles. I think the Diesel is about a $7k option but the 3.5 was a few grand too and you would have as nice a truck and you could load or pull about anything you ever need to.
Telling my age here, every time Mike dumps a bucket of dirt in the trailer it reminds me of Pig Pen on Charlie Brown with that cloud of dust just hovering around it. The rotating bucket shot was really cool.
Yup

I would have been tempted to get the loader attachment to dump dirt into trailer. But it is so mesmerizing and relaxing to do it with the excavator.
1st load - 9 buckets Mike, 3rd load (fast motion) -11 buckets, 10-1/2 on the 4th load.

Foothills of NC - we got 5" Friday night and Saturday, and it only rained about 30 of the time, but when it did it did.
