Just a random thought! I’d paint the inside of the Harry Potter cabinet…either white or a solid dark color so that the pieces you have stand out. I think the “bright” wood is competing for the attention in there so the paint would make everything more the center

Love how open the new house is. The Forbidden Forest out back is exciting. For pots and pans, you could take out the bottom two drawers and convert them to a deep drawer. My parents had that installed and gave so much room. Love the idea for the living room accent wall but not sure about navy. I’m more of a neutrals person with a darker gray or even black.

Hopefully we will be retiring to the state of Florida..we are still researching best cities…any suggestions would be great! When you install new locks, it's a great time to install linger screws that go into the studs. I know you've already done the lock, but it's not too late. Also, watch for ticks in those woods 🥰🥰🥰

I would do stone or faux stone on the fireplace wall to the ceiling, and paint the existing brick white or black. You could add a wood mantle and stain it or paint it to match the new brick color. Then hang the tv above that. I think you would enjoy having the mantle to decorate for the holidays. I might not have gotten far enough along in the video to see if you mention the carpet, but do you think you’ll be tearing that up since you had just recently gone to all laminate or vinyl in your old house aside from area rugs? Any plans to take down those upper cabinets above the sink? It’ll open that space and the sight line to and from the living room so much. You could relocate them, or you’d lose a bit of storage, but I think it’d be worth the trade off.

Correct you have to change locks I did just got our new house too the previous people here lived just 2 months in this house I say it I’m soo happy cause it’s was just made last yr and it’s all modern inside didn’t work on it at all we paid 300.000 $ for it of course it’s cheap cause it’s Texas but I bet we’re you guys live it’s expensive for sure but I’m in love with the house my fridge it’s white and stove it’s white the ones that just came out from whirlpool ❤❤😍😍love love !!! Omg!!!! Such a coincidence, I haven’t been by your channel for a while but something made me come by today. My husband and I just painted my office today and are talking about doing an accent wall in our open concept living and dining room that has a cathedral ceiling with triangle windows. My intent was always to do sage because I figured that would be the only color that would match the others wall and the vibe of the house BUT when you said navy it hit me!!!!! THATS the color for us! I am so excited now.
Oh, I forgot to add that I love your idea of the navy wall. I think it would look awesome if you also painted the built ins on each side of the fireplace navy also.🤗

Congrats on your new home! I agree with everybody saying to paint all the build ins & trim. I like the navy idea but also another commenter’s suggestion to do stone. Somebody else also suggested painting the build ins by the fireplace navy & I really like that idea too. Either way enjoy making your new home your own. We bought our 3 yrs ago & are still doing updates & painting lol Edited to add I also would take down the cabinets hanging over the sink to open the space up much more & if possible just add more cabinet space to the wall at the end of the counter on the opposite wall. I would also put doors on the bookcase under the countertop to give things a cleaner look as well as protection for your books 😊

We have a tall fireplace wall.. painted it navy (Sherwin Williams Anchors Aweigh) and painted the fireplace white and it looks amazing and we LOVE it! Can’t wait to see y’all’s progress!

White will let the Memorabilia stand out, but perhaps a darker colour will give a better mood

We have a tall fireplace wall.. painted it navy (Sherwin Williams Anchors Aweigh) and painted the fireplace white and it looks amazing and we LOVE it! Can’t wait to see y’all’s progress!
