Laila was the face of women's boxing at that time and she could have fought ANYBODY that she chose to, It was obvious that she wanted no part of Ann Wolfe. Just because Laila beat Mahfood and Mahfood beat Wolfe doesn't mean Laila beats Wolfe, boxing just doesn't work that way. If it did then George Foreman should have crushed Ali like he did Frazier and Norton, both of whom beat Ali. The bottom line is Wolfe was Laila's main rival and her biggest challenge, and she CHOSE not to fight her.
I can agree that Leila did duck Ann, but to say that she handpicked fighters. I find that hard to believe since almost all 24 opponents had winning records and were championship contenders and only 3 were able go the distance. Not to mention that she dismantled Valerie in two fight bouts. Yes Ann is a beast but I don't know why people are saying she would dominate Laila soooo easily.
I think Laila did duck Ann but Laila claims she’d fight Ann now for free she really thinks she can beat her. She has confidence like her dad but Ann is powerful . @mrsamhawkins1 ann didnt come along at the wrong time it just that someone came along to finally call laila out and if you take a really good look at it ali is riding on her dads name and she has never had any real fight but with old people and a few of the titles she has she did not fight for they were made up for her and she didnt think it was the wrong time when she agreed to fight the top fighter and when ann came out on top she backed out
