When I saw that the M-100's had two lead slots, I smiled widely and I'm now going to grab a pair. I hate having headphones that have the cord only on the left side. Both sides are a little annoying, but I got used to that. Not only that, but I can just replace the lead as many times I want, which is fucking great. My biggest issue with headphones is I break the jack accidentally. So I keep having to cut off 5cm of cord to solder on another jack. With this, I don't need to worry about my cord getting too short. So that's sick. :3
I agree Phil with the coiled cable concept, and for the price tag $300 they should give you the option. Looks like a good design, steel banding and compact storage mode. Nice review
I completely agree regarding a coiled cable. I tried to use the straight cable for ONE gig, and vowed never to do it again - The cable got caught on a piece of gear under the table, and nearly ripped the M-100's off my head. I ordered a coiled cable the next day.
looking good dude! i like coiled cables too.. but i have some sony MDR XB500s for my home studio.. and youve made me think about re arranging my desk.. yours looks sooo clean :D.
I prefer straight cable headphones for DJ'ing. I don't like it tugging on my head when I move around the booth as the coiled cables expand. The coiled cable also feel bulky to me. I've used a Pioneer HDJ-1000 and Technics RP-DH1200 (both coiled cables) for a 2-3 years each. Right now I have a Beyerdynamic DT-1350 (straight) and I'm really happy with it.
I can see what he is saying about the coiled cable. A standard cable will always be the same size where a coil cable can extend if need to be. Coiled cables are heavy but it's a con and a pro for both. Coiled cables won't be everywhere at anytime.
So, I'm a DJ and I already own a pair of Sennheiser HD-25 ii but I need a more bassy pair of headphones. I've been looking at M100 and LP2. Are M100 really worth 110 bucks more you pay for them? As I can see, the only thing I get is the folding mechanism and better high's/mid's.
The M-80's are very small on the ear. They're considered to be on ear headphones while the LP2's are over ear headphones, much more enjoyable of a listen and more comfortable. If you can't get a pair of M100's, go for the LP2's
im a young new dj & producer, looking for a headphone to suit both of these aspects. can't decide between sennheiser hd25 aluminium, pioneer hdj 2000, or these. whats yours choice digital dj tips? thanks !
i have a question since youpersonally tried them, how do they perform at 30-40HZ? does the bass shake your head? is the bass clean? i recently bought skullcandy crushers, couldnt be more dissapointed with the product because they only play up to 50-60hz, anything higher or lower sounds distorted and quiet, please let me know thanks!
I'm considering getting a pair actually but the only ones that seem to be sold in my country are the M-80's and the LP2's. However I noticed something with the M-80's, they don't cover your entire ear and instead rest directly on your ear. I'd like to know if the ones I was looking at were actually a bootleg copy (bootlegs are pretty common here) or are the M-80's really smaller than the M-100's and LP2's. Thank you
i have a question. i owned the beats studio and now own a v moda m100 wireless. i heard the beats studio has an builtin amp and the v modas dont. i listened to the modas and in my oppinion the beats studio have a lot more punchie bass and go alot louder and so on. i was wondering if you used an amp with the m100s since you say they have a more punchie bass and better sound quality.. greetz.
Not sure offhand, here's our full review on them: www.digitaldjtips.com/2013/05/v-moda-crossfade-m-100-headphones-review-video/ If you're looking for bassier V-Modas, the LP2 has it: www.digitaldjtips.com/2012/08/review-video-v-moda-crossfade-lp2-headphones/
Oke thanks ill chck it out thanks! Also, my v modas broke wothing 8 days of use.. the roght ear cup started to stop playing music and for 5 minits it was only playing when i had my headphone off pf my head..when i put it on the music stops on the right and 5 mins later it didnt do anything...seems like an cable defect within the headband? Returned it for a pair of m100s and i got a little amp with it..the m audio bass travler Now it had alot more bass to it. Also the sound is AMAZING with the xl ears cushens. Greetz
+Kamalaksha De Probably the Crossfade, here's our full review: www.digitaldjtips.com/2013/05/v-moda-crossfade-m-100-headphones-review-video/ The ATH are probably good, too :)
So if I was to spend the extra $100 for the M100's, all I would be paying extra for are different cables, a cleaner bass, and a compact travel feature. If that is correct, I think I will just settle with the LP2's.
***** when you were saying about the coiled cable i have had it a few times when i have played live sets that the coiled cables seem to bounce around a fair amount when i am moving around the booth causing them to actually set off tracks and effects however since changing to a straight cable i have not suffered from any such problems even when i am bouncing around the booth
+Digital DJ Tips V-Moda sells coiled cables, more confortable pads, mics etc... separate on their website. the stock box comes with just the basics for casual users. If you want to go pro then you can buy the other parts individually.
Are M100's good for airplane flights? I want a pair of headphones that can at least isolate noise well enough to block out an airplane engine. And no I don't like active noise cancellation and the feeling it gives your ears, like its underwater IMO.
Hi Sir, Been following your reviews all the time i just want to ask if how about the comparison on HDJ-2000 to V-Moda M-1000 Sir. Much appreciate your respond Sir. Thanks more power.
which are the best between the v-moda m100 (250$) , the v-moda lp2 (160$) & the audio technica ath m50x (200$) for dj sets and music producing? Thanks for the attention!
Guys ATH-M50x or M100? Mainly for DJing and also A LOT of casual music listening. Studio work/production - almost none. Love ultra deep, warm and enormous bass. Coming from Sony MDR-XB700, which in my opinion are amazing (just not fit for DJing). Please advise. Many thanks
The M80's are an on the ear headphone, you can see their website, and also search youtube for vmoda fakes and I imagine there is something showing what is a knock off and what is a real vmoda brand headphone.

FYI v-moda offer coiled cables as well as gaming ones with built-in boom mic! Accessories, accessories!
I've watched about 10 V-MODA CrossFade M-100 videos, and it's fun watching people trying to describe base
I listened to some N.O. Jazz today on these headphones. The upright bass sound was near perfect to my ears. I love these headphones, period.
V-Moda sells an aftermarket coiled cord

You can adjust them to head size, yes.
Just purchased these, arriving in a few hours
They are providing the engraving and custom colors for the plates as your order it now

The M80 are on-ear, whilst the M100 and LP2 are over-ear, so yes the earcups of the M80 are smaller.
1. The cable with the splinter is 6ft that is taller than me
2. The second aux connector is for daisy chaining

I used to use coiled cables and I *one time* had the coil hit a fader and knock it up a bit lol. Not very common but it happened to me once :D
Sounds stressful! 😬
These headphones are DJ Mag's Headphone of the Year for 2013. They're even marketed through other Djs as well. How are they not for Djs?
Your review got me to pull the trigger on getting these headphones. Gotta ask what brand of eyeglasses are you wearing?

Yes it does, and that's what the one button cable is for.

v moda came out with a coiled cable with a locking mechanism for the m100 for 30$ on amazon
Did V-Moda contact you, or did you contact them, to get a free pair for reviewing? Thanks.
Which has a Vmoda m100 has a better headband Shadow or Black? I heard the shadow stains is that true for the black color?
Does the shadow suede version show wear on the suede headband after using for a long time?
Yes but it's not awful
are they "loud" i mean do i have enough power to play with at the top? not asking about the sound quality, just pure simple loudness?
They're marketed hard at DJs, though.
What watch is that you are wearing? Just curious.
Darude - Rollexstorm
It my be a golden casio digital watch. Not sure tho.
What studio monitors are they behind you thanks for review

Which one is better for DJ-in purpose-
V-Moda Crossfade or Audio-Technica ATH-M50x
+Kamalaksha De Probably the Crossfade, here's our full review: www.digitaldjtips.com/2013/05/v-moda-crossfade-m-100-headphones-review-video/ The ATH are probably good, too :)
+Digital DJ Tips thanks a lot for the suggestion. Cheers.. :)

Nathan Oldham Cool, each to their own!

+Pownycus Thank you for adding this :)
Are these more comfortable than the LP's? The LP's squished my head after about an hour.
Hi, are they lenght customizable - are they comfort even if you have a big/large head ? Thanks for an answer.
Are M100's good for airplane flights? I want a pair of headphones that can at least isolate noise well enough to block out an airplane engine. And no I don't like active noise cancellation and the feeling it gives your ears, like its underwater IMO.
Bose maybe for airplanes

+Kevin Lamarche DJ : M-100, Casual Use : LP2, Studio : Ath m50
The LP and LP2 are marketed for DJ's more heavily then the M-80 or the M-100 ...
which one is good isolation lp2 audio technica mx50 or m100 or xdj 7 or senhiser hd 25
All good but a lot of DJs swear by their HD25s :)
Could you recommend a lightweight coiled cable? Every one I have tried is too heavy! Thank you!
They have the same size earcups.
Guys
ATH-M50x or M100?

why how far are u moving away from the decks?
Do these have any clarity compared to the audiotechnica ath m50s?
Are these your ultimate headphone?
Do you know if the audio control buttons work for android devices? more specifically the galaxy s4?
Well ive heard its suppose to be good, you dont have to do a review, but have you ever seen them or uses them ?
Im not a Dj but i listen to music a lot would these to the Job or they more designed for a Jd?

what do you guys think about IEM's for djing? (in-ear monitors)
do they sell the coil cable on their site?
Are they a gaming headphone. ??
DJing, but imagine you could use them for other things :)
M-80's are on-ear headphones, M-100 and the LP's are all over-ear
agreed, coiled dj cables are a must as a dj!
that would be cool if they were coiled like half way
Can you do a reveiw on the stanton dj pro 3000 ?
:)
I think they have a coiled cable now
Do they leak sound?
The M-80's are an on ear phone and the LP2's/M-100 are over ears.

The M-80s are indeed smaller than the M-100s/LP2s
XD Im waiting for my LPs to break so I can get the M100's for half-price.
They're pretty much the same.

v-moda.com/crossfade-m-100/
