Why is nato rejecting the offer. That just shows Ukraine is not a sovereign country.
Ukraine is run by a dictator and is under Marshall Law.
It makes it a little hypocritical to say we aren't involved when we come out rejecting Putin's proposal. Putin exposed the "peace summit" for the farce that it was and he exposed the US and NATO's lies about involvement. Whether you like Putin or not is immaterial, he outplayed the west.
What is Ukraine? Fake creation on the map mistakenly allowed by former drunk Soviet leaders.

Putin and Lavrov will have also considered that making what is seen as a generous peace proposal, and knowing the US will immediately make Ukraine refuse it, allows the international community to see another example that it is the US/West that want war with Russia at Ukraines expense. Which can result in draining international support of the US/West.

Astute observation. That was Putin's latest chess move, since he never seriously thought the western powers would consider Russia's proposal. Naturally, they responded predictably (and foolishly), thereby undermining NATO's position internationally. It also means that when the scope of the SMO is broadened, Putin won't face as much internal opposition from the "doves" within his government or the public (assuming there are any left), since it will be obvious to everyone that no one in the West was even willing to consider his generous offer, so there is no alternative but escalation as a means to finish the conflict decisively.

Putin's proposal does not simply mean a stop to the war and a respite for a new strengthening of the Nazi regime. This is the complete departure of the Nazis from power and the arrival of other people. This is the removal of Westerners and their corrupting influence. This is the loss of power of those who now have power - all sorts of business and government groups. This is a complete reconstruction of the rest of Ukraine. And as part of this process, the regions of Ukraine will be able to make their choice - where to be.
Actually, this is what the Russians have been striving for from the very beginning - the freedom of the Ukrainian people to decide their own destiny without regard to other countries and their leaders. And this is why this proposal will never be accepted by the West and its puppets - for them, all Ukrainians are slaves who have no rights. Everything is decided for them. Why, according to the West, cannot the inhabitants of Crimea be part of Russia? - because they have no right to control their own destiny.
That's how we live.
