I'm in the UK right now, as a student and let me tell you the points which he hasn't included. 1. Less to no jobs in the UK for students specifically. There are plenty of jobs, but most of those are full time. If you think you can manage your fees or save money during vacation time, it is only possible if you have a job in the first place and it's nowhere sure that you will get a temporary full time job just for 20 or so days. 2. Increased rent cost all over the UK. Unlike Canada, you can't share your room with your friend. Many of my friends are paying 550-600 pounds on average for a room. 3. Increased cost of living. Prices of daily grocery items have skyrocketed in recent times. The type of butter I used to buy for 2.99 is now at 8.99. They have to put a sensor on butter, can you imagine?!, So someone doesn't steal it. So in the end it's all about money. If you think you can survive for months without a job, If you can pay 500-600 pounds a month rent and if you think you have family support in case there's any problem, then great. Welcome to the UK. people are super nice, the weather is good, facilities will be provided and the university will take care of you. I hope I've helped you understand the condition of students here.
