Just started this game, and I was kind of lost in what to do in some areas. They barely give you any hint's on what to in some scenarios. It gets better once you get the hang of it. Thanks for the review. I like how you review older games like this. Not everybody plays 2020/2021 games and enjoy older games.
I got this on sale on GOG for 3 dollars. Man, I had such a blast! A game that knows what it is. The shooting feels very rewarding, it makes perfect sense for Tequilla not to reload his weapons, the special moves are also fun to use. One of the things I did not really like were some of the boss fights that felt just too long and annoying. Overall I think it's a must play if you want to have some fun without investing too much time. I think it would be cool with a friend taking turns after each checkpoint

Loved and played the shit out of this game when I was a kid. The destructible environments where (and still are) some of the most impressive I've ever seen in a shooter. If Max Payne 3 had this kind of destruction, it would've been sick!
This game evolved the gameplay formula of Max Payne more than Max Payne 3 did, you can slide across tables, slide down railings, swing on chandeliers, use zip lines, roll on carts, cause a ridiculous amount of environmental destruction and with everything in the world getting shot up it made the gunfights feel alot more dynamic.
I think it’s more that people traded it in after they beat it which is why it became so cheap. I always noticed that with games that were short and didn’t have much replay value.
I think the destructive environments are what's really special about the game. This game came out 15 years ago.. and games today still don't have this level of destruction. Oh, this pillar, or these planters can be destroyed.. but that's it.
Awesome video! Now i just remembered a little game called Wet. I thought is was great when it released, as I played the demo, but the actual game, when I played a few years back felt a bit clunky, though it had some neat mechanics. I think it's still worth checking out.
I recently purchase stranglehold and every time I close the game my saved data is deleted As well as my settings, I tried disabling cloud storage and exempting the game from my anti-virus software but nothing seems to work any help in resolving this issue would be much appreciated.

I want to love this game. Technically it features better graphics than "Max Payne" and the godfather of bullet time himself, Chow Yun-fat. But his stiff, robotic animations break my sense of immersion whenever his character does, well... anything. It just shows how beautifully "Max Payne 2" has aged with its lifelike animations and textures, much like "Half-Life 2".
This game needs an infinite bullet time cheat or mode...such a wasted opportunity... and the thing that hurt the game most are those stupid spawning points...Also no way to remove dead bodies count even through config
ihavetubes@ disappearing bodies kills gaming immersion on first and third person shooters, although it's understandable for performance reasons, at least it should be an optional configuration setting on pc (and by that, i mean let the player decide how many cadavers they want to have around).

I fondly remember walking into Gamestop and blockbuster, always seeing this game super cheap. But nobody ever wanted to pick it up😭

Even if the multiplayer functioned, it'd probably be dead anyway.
Max Payne is still better. Bodies don't disappear and it has tons of mods. This game looks similar to dead to rights.
