Actually, Geiser brace is double sheer, bolt passes through double 4130 chromoly steel tabs distributing stress point vs single steel tab on OEM part. S3 and CT are great tower braces that tie into frame, and will make it stiffer, but Geiser does make bolt stress double shear. S3 & CT will transfer stress point into frame, and honesty if you hit with force it would take to break Geiser brace, you will most likely bend OEM frame with a more traditional tower brace. Unless of course you are running a race car with chromoly tube frame. Pick your poison, but all mentioned options are great upgrades over OEM.
That shock tower is still a single shear. It is a single shear point where the tower butt's against the frame. The radiator is not structural to make it a double shear. It is not much strong than stock. There are kits that connect the front of the shock tower to the frame below creating a true double shear.
Rick do you think it’s better to go with full gusset kit or the bulkhead upgrade. I’m not a jumper but I do hit desert riding constantly throughout the year? I understand the riding you do and know Ryan Kibbys work, I was a Prerunner owner before kids. But now that I’ve I have 2020 XRS it opened my eyes to getting off the 450 and driving a car again. Just want to save my car from “the insurance job” which I dont have haha
I agree this is not a double shear setup, there is no bridging of the bolt, start at the front, and work your way back, ask yourself at each point of the chassis what is the support point, the answer is the bolt at the rear of the upper and lower arms have no support to keep from tweaking. I would suggest taking the video down because it is really just bad information. Honestly this has changed my opinion of your videos completely, I was starting to feel like they were motivated by parts that could be sold by your store, I understand that, but not good to point folks in the wrong direction.
So if I replace the bulkhead and shock tower brace do you think I will be safe? Or should I go ahead and do the a-arms as well? Dune season is right around the corner and I need to beef this thing up before camp Rzr.
I've had my stock x3 for about 2 years and a half and unless your going to be rally racing , jumping, bashing it , like hardcore stuff yes your are going to break it, but that applies to any machine... but oh well anyways i love how people make you think can ams are trash in their parts quality, but i don't see it personally maybe if you are travis pastrana or ken block then yes you might need reinforcement in all the parts for those guys but for the average joe trust me ( YOUR FINE 😉 ) . that x3 is going to treat you well if you treat her well it goes both ways lol ....🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙 keep riding those x3 my dudes !!!!!
I do like the Can-Am but I never understood spending $40K on the so called best SxS unit then spend another $20K on upgrading it so parts don’t break. If it’s the best unit then why all the upgrades? I bought a 2019 Honda Talon for $17K new. I’ll have the 72” HRC Long Travel installed for $6K a Krash Off Road cage for around $2,200 I all ready have my Method Bead grip wheels and System3 XT300 Wheels and I’m still nowhere near base price of a Can-Am 72” wide SxS. I have around $25K with a fully custom long travel suspension and custom cage and wheels and tires. I looked at the Can-Am X3 and the Polaris Razors but the price turned me away. When I seen how much I could get the Honda Talon for and the price of the upgrade I wanted I could get the unit around 60% less than a Can-Am or Polaris. I feel if you want to change so many parts then just buy the base unit and do the upgrades and you will save thousands.
You obviously know more about building stuff than I do but the car looks tall...like the suspension is turned up. You’ve added significant weight to the top of the machine...are you worried about it being susceptible to a roll over?
It's actually really balanced due to the weight ive put over the ass end. the shock therapy gold package and spring kit really helped the suspension work in the desert and dunes. Despite the lift it gave it, it doesn't feel at all more top heavy or unstable
I am in the market for a vehicle that I don't have to upgrade I'm on a budget I'm a logger I saved up 25000 I want a vehicle that's not going to break I'm not going to go he'll break Hellbound on it but what would you recommend a vehicle out of the box I can have fun with and not dump a bunch of extra into
That’s not double sheer at all!🤦♂️🤦♂️. Double sheer means the bolt doesn’t rely on the arm. Instead it run though 2 holes that are CONNECTED. Such as a gusset kit. Your bulkhead is held on by the bolt that the arm relies on, Stressing the living hell out of it...

Nope....those Geiser components do not create a dual shear mounting point. The suspension bolts still take all the strain.......at best you have a stiffener plate!! Thanks for posting, at least I learned what NOT to buy......Geiser is OUT!! Looks pretty but far from Bulletproof.....hope Geiser paid for the parts and install....otherwise you got robbed!!
This guy.. really doesn't know what he's talking about..I can tell just by how he words things..and uses the word capture a lot...he knows but he doesn't know..
That’s not double shear dude....check out the S3 or the CT Race works shock tower kit. Those make it double shear
Let me add to that, assault ind or tmw bulkhead kit also makes it true double shear.
It’s like listening to my kid after he learns a new word, it’s all he says! Lmao

Eric Spendlove so glad someone else noticed that. Geiser really should modify their design or quit advertising it like it helps strengthen anything.
What kit does that Eric? Connects the shock tower to the bottom of the frame to create a double sheet point?
@@michaelr1760 tmw shock tower brace or s3 shock tower brace.. or Superatv

great video, is the roof rack done by geiser too?
What kind of roof rack is that?
Wow, very sharp Can Am X3, Absolutely love it.

Does that bulkhead come with the lil bumper/bar that you have the small lightbar on?
What do you do with the window glare caused by light bar?
