Recently there's been a news of Google Drive deleting files of users. I used to think despite all the privacy concerns at least Big Tech companies like Google or Microsoft etc. would keep my files safe but now not anymore. I would recommend using cloud only if you need the convenience of accessing important files on the go, but always keep backups in your local disk or external SSD. And never bother uploading private photos as they'll scan and train their AI on your photos
