Carl Palmer was my idol growing up in the early 70s. I'd seen ELP every time they came to St Louis in the 70s as well as numerous times in the decades to follow. To my buddy surprise he actually out drummed Aynsley Dunbar when Journey opened up for them I think it was 1976 or 77😮 my brother Ray and I lived and breathed Carl Palmer from the 1970s to even the present😊 so sorry to hear about his health problems he looks invincible😮😊

One of the greatest drummers to ever pick up sticks. Master. Legend.

Living demigod! I didn't know Carl came up with the 5/4 pattern opening and ending The Eruption! Without that meter that movement would not have been as epic sounding as it was. Kudos! I consider Carl's solo in Tank to be one of the greatest solos ever! Why doesn't anybody else even acknowledge that solo?! Great interview. Too short!

A really great interview..insight to the working man's concerns of the time.Always loved ELP,NICE,KING CRIMSON..I must have seen ELP four times..and King Crimson multiple times..ELP was my to go band back in the day..a tour de force. The Brain Salad tour was phenomenal..quadrophonic sound system clear as a bell.Amazing show.Tocatta was an amazing piece of work alone .It blew a lot of fans minds having never heard these sounds before. As this very time Carl Palmer is recuperating from a heart surgery. He is doing well.Get well soon Carl..you are the best.!!!!!

Thank you for your kind words and insights Michael. They paint a valuable picture from the perspective of someone who was there to witness. Carl is truly remarkable. As were Keith and Greg. We wish Carl well too.

By the way just wanted to say awesome interview my friend my only wish is that you would have quizzed him a little on other drummers of his ilk😮
