Thank you for the video. This explains a lot to those who did not grow up throwing urethane in the 80s and 90s so very well done. I personally do not have bowlers in our house that openly whine about urethane ruining their "shot" but I have heard about them. One could make the reverse argument to the whiners about reactive balls creating the need for urethane equipment. The more oil they soak up off the lane throwing reactive, the more need for "weaker" more predictable equipment there is. I always laugh at those who mention urethane in the category of not hooking. They must never have been able to throw a Black Widow urethane or Hammer Purple Pearl.
when I find a good line with the pitch black I can average 220ish in league. but I've gotten so use to the miss room with the ball that I tend to blame the ball for my ten pin leaves. then when it's time to switch back to reactive I end up shooting 180 because I'm not giving the ball enough time to read the lane due to how fast I would throw the urethane

Hi Darren, just brought the fast pitch ball last week bowl it in the third game ,only one split. I have been using the Ebinite Cyclone the last 10 years, always have trouble when the oil start spreading out and have low scores . I shoot around the first arrow on the dry area with cyclone . I need to find the strike or sweet zone for the Fast Pitch. Any advices on how should i line and which arrow to aim at ?. Thanks for the super video and excellent on the oil patterns !
Question: I notice you said the fast pitch will be better if you find your ball hooking too far and guttering to the opposite side. The way I bowl is 2-handed and i like standing very far left so that the ball goes from left-ish side to near right gutter to hook back into pocket/brooklyn (i tend to brooklyn MOST of the time lol) Im looking into a urethane ball and read pitchblack was good but if fast pitch can correct the overhook (which i experience in this particular place I go to) would that be better?:o
Great Video. I'm more of a balanced player. Which would you recommend for when the lanes are starting to fry out? I'm leaning toward a pitch black or fast pitch.
I actually wouldn't recommend urethane for when the lanes burn up. There's a huge misconception about hook ratings. As the lanes change, the front part of the lane starts to hook more. Urethane bowling balls are the earliest hooking pieces out there. I would recommend something like an electrify pearl or hybrid based on what you're describing!

It’s easy for us old guys cuz we bowled with urethane everyday in the 80’s and early 90’s and the urethane that’s in my weekly bag is pitch blue, I have a purple hammer but it is so strong, I need a ton of oil for it
