A note on the underutilized gadgets from a long time battlefield one player: The rifle grenade HE can be effective against tanks if you have a friend who is willing to constantly resupply you with ammo pouches. It's not a lot of damage but it is constant. The HE mortar can destroy buildings unlike the other mortar, and it does a surprising 20 damage for every direct hit on a tank. The flash flair seems useless until you are crowded in a corridor and you cannot see anything at all. Use it to pin down an enemy's line of sight, especially in tight quarters. The tripwire gas gadget is my favorite because there is no indicator for gas, and everybody understands grenades only from the perspective of the indicator. Gas goes through walls and can be used in choke points. Equip the proximity alert perk to also spot people nearby, especially if they are using inconspicuous. These sniper decoy will be spotted by a spotting flare. Equip and conspicuous and place a couple in the direction that you want in enemy to look, you can gain the upper hand by tricking them into a false location of people. The sniper shield isn't all that great for aggressive recons but it is fantastic for letting support gunners use it. Also use it on stairs/tight areas to block access.
Very solid and fair rankings for everything. Medics win games, and if you don't revive like crazy than 9 times out of 10, you will lose. So, if you use a rifle grenade, you are sacrificing half of your identity as a medic. Assault gadgets are all great, and it just depends on what range you want to engage tanks. The AA rocket gun was put in for balancing because planes are still a menace. Support has some devastating gadgets. Ammo boxs for unlimited ammo is busted. Thankfully, DICE knew that support players wouldn't give any ammo out, so it's not a problem. Limpet mines and mortars can do major work. Crossbow helps with the insane grenade spam that exists in this game. Scout has some of the best and worst gadgets. Flare gun spot is necessary for every scout (unless you play hardcore then i would go with flash to fuck with everyone)to use no excuse. Also, i am a god damn menace with firing flares at objectives and lighting people on fire once they hit the ground. Using them to deny door ways and choke points is super fun. Seeing someone die to a flare is hilarious in Battlefield. K bullets are more effective than you think. If you have an ammo box next to you and good distance, you can slowly chip away at a tanks health as a less powerful tankhunter. They are also very dirty against planes. I have so many clips of me destroying planes with K bullets. Or I hit a plane in the wing or tail with a K bullet and then see it spiraling out of control back twords Earth. If you learn how to lead your shot and hit key components, K bullets can be more effective than flak. And HE tripwires always get me. Being able to 1 hit a running enemy can definitely get you 3 or 4 kills a match. It's also a good way to get banned from a hardcore server. Then you have the sniper shield for noobs and an easy headshot for me. Honestly, i believe it's more effective to have a support gunner behind the shield than a sniper. But when will you see battlefield players cooperate? Then there the dummy heads. I knew what DICE was trying to do, but man, i hardly ever see these things, and they aren't even that useful. 1 month after the game came out, everyone knew these things were worthless. And why you needed them destroyed for one of the stupid perks is beyond me
The AT Rocket gun deserves S tier because of its versatility. You can 1 shot elites, destroy locked doors, snipe enemies that you otherwise couldn’t have because of your close range assault gun, deal damage to tanks, and kill clusters of enemies if your in the right spot.
Few things to note sadly playing this game for 8 years. - Tripwire Gas can be useful on maps like Fort Vaux...because gas goes through walls...simply put it down next to a wall where you know enemies are at close together Shoot it and the gas goes through the wall and kills them. Due to the fact you dont get the indicator a lot of players dont understand whats happening and assume its a team mates long enough before they die. - The Sniper Shield can actually kill, If someone was to drop down of a high ledge (Say a building) and land on it it actually does damage. Ive not managed (obviously) to get one legitimatly in the killfeed it was an "Empty Space" but i remember a cheater killing me with one once and it had its own icon in the killfeed so clearly it was implemented to some degree. As for a challenge get 20 kills with a Scout car in 1 round. (Driving or Back Machine Gun can be used.)
Bonus points if you have the Perimeter Alarm Specialization alongside the Tripwire-Gas. That specialization triggers regardless of how the Tripwire got activated. That way you also Periscope-Spot any enemies within a 10m radius. Also goes through walls. Btw you technically get an indicator for the Tripwire-Gas if it was spotted (by a Spotting Flare). But it is the indicator for a Tripwire, so most people don't react with a Gasmask in time. Also the Tripwire-Gas has a small initial explosion for ~30 damage. That also goes through walls. And similar to to other explosives, shooting it gives the kill-credit to the gun/explosive you are using. So technically, you can wallbang any small wall with any weapon for 30 damage. (Boy have I been hackusated a couple of times for that) Don't also forget that Gas not only goes through walls, but also vertically though ceilings/floors. So you can also damage (and spot) enemies above or below.
@@hexsane8265 i didnt even know about the 30 dmg on shooting it thing i assumed that only worked on HE stuff...more you know...good shouts on the perimeter alarm tho
@@nort6300 In my opinion that combination is the way to go if you play scout in close-quarters. So I have to preach a bit here, it is just criminally underplayed.
@RetroNels Remember it spots everyone in the 10m radius that is not within a smoke grenade. So you can finally spot Inconspicuous campers. Also it's duration is increased by the awareness specialization
I remember taking down a behemoth with a Kolibri shooting a dynamite and AT tanks I destroyed a Train and me and my friend Destroyed a Battleship (Dreadnought?)
Re: incendiary trip wire, the trick is to equip these in buildings, corridors, or where enemies tend to run around without looking. If you are there to suppress/shoot them they have nowhere to run, and I have regularly managed to get a couple kills from one trip mine. Equip with a gas grenade to really panic them.
For the mortars, you should have mentioned that the mortars actually increase in accuracy after every shot, that's why the circle on the map narrows. It doesn't necessarily lose accuracy after a shot, but does reset the circle to full.
Hmm, does their accuracy actually increase, or do they just get more accurate the longer you wait? It's a bit like waiting for gun recoil to settle, I think.
@@RetroNels It gets more accurate the longer you wait between shots. I should have clarified it erases gained accuracy after a shot, and then starts regaining after a shot. Also PS3 avatar I love it

Does the periscope provide outlines for your whole team or just your squad? I’ve heard many variants of its function but nobody seems to know specifically.
I think you went a little too hard on the rifle grenades, while i do agree that they are not good and that you should always run syringe and crate or pouch, they do have a use. Ive been forced to use them for a quest for weeks at this point and overtime you learn how to use them well, the best use is to go to one of the grenade spam frontlines, where everyones just standing around throwing explosives and shooting the rifle greandes as far as you can into the enemies, this will get you some kills because of their velocity and the enemies just standing outside of the normal throwing range but still in rifle grenade range. The second use is to peak and shoot one onto an camping enemie that you would lose a gun fight against, maybe your weapon isnt suitable for the range or maybe your position is just too shity, so just peak and try to shoot a grenade in their face, it wont always work, but i think both respectably are deserving to be raised a tier. Also flares deserves to be S+++ cheers
@@loan-gaming9248 i was hard on them because they take up a medic gadget slot and generally quite weak they do have a very limited use but overall could be used much better, overall the smoke version is the only redeeming and useful option

Another minor point with the sniper shield: It can hide your glint if ur not like facehugging the shield, so can be useful in some instances but eh
One thing to add about the crossbow grenades is that they refill automatically as opposed to rifle grenades

Well, sniper shield is not useless, but you have to think of it more as a support tool for your team, than a defensive one against other snipers.
