    Hey everyone,
    just a quick status update on the Power Format Pack: It is no longer necessary to set up your key bindings manually (as shown in this video) ! Thanks to the continuous updates by Neftas, the add-on now comes with a very elegant options menu for defining custom hotkeys. You will find it under Tools → Power Format Pack → Key Bindings.

    If you're using Anki 2.1 Mini Format Pack has a few features available such as indenting.

    I can´t get it to work well, when i add a table and add the cloze overlapping tool, it just automatically set`s it up as a list, not as a table like in this video. When i use the short cut for cloze, it just apperas as a regular cloze deletion card, please help!!!

    Great video! If I may ask for a video request, can you please do a video on the 'multiple choice note type' add on. I'm having a difficult time implementing it into my decks

      Thanks for the suggestion! I'm definitely planing on recording a video on the use of MC-type questions in Anki; maybe not as the next one, but at some point in the future.
      There are a number of ways you can approach this, both via add-ons and templates, and I'd like to showcase the strengths and weaknesses of each approach (as well as demonstrating how each of them works). It might be a while before I get to this, but stay tuned!

    Glutanimate
    Thanks for this video.
    Please I have a question.
    I have a table I am trying to make.
    There are 3 columns and 11 rows.
    I need to use the first row as headers of types.
    I also need to use column as a way to differentiate each area.
    I cannot use the cloze deletion for the remaining 20 cells.
    How can I do this?
    Thanks for your reply in advance.

    so no add-ons for Anki 2.1?

  • @DKolha

    You're the awesomest!
    You could do one that allows us to save the card before actually adding, like, saves in an txt, because sometimes we are writing some really long note, with a lot of questions, and for people who let the HTML copy/paste enabled, like me, sometimes you crtl+v something inside some web formatted text which causes anki to crash... so we have to start all from scretch

    • @Glutanimate
      @Glutanimate  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That sounds like an interesting idea, but I think I a have a few too many projects on my plate right now. I'll make sure to keep your idea in mind, though. At the same time: You should probably report these crashes on Anki's support site if you haven't done so already (anki.tenderapp.com/discussions/ankidesktop). The staff there are usually very responsive and might be able to fix the issue in Anki itself.

    • @DKolha
      @DKolha 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great, I will find a way to reproduce this crtl+v html crash in a easily demonstrable way and post it there...
      About the addon, I actually program in JAVA, I might turn to learn python in a near future just to do that addon... It might not be so good quality like yours in the first, but I would put it on github for the community check it as well..

    • @Glutanimate
      @Glutanimate  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should definitely do that! Python is a beautiful language, even more so in Anki. Once you learn it you'll be able to modify each and every part of the app to your very own liking. That's an incredibly powerful tool to have in your arsenal.

    Can someone please show me how to use anki?? I'm desperate!! I put a lot of hard work into making my cards and I think I pressed the wrong button that changed all my card types and now all my cards look weird. Can someone please walk me through it via a zoom session or something. I totally need all my cards. I'm literally crying right now because it looks like I messed up all my hard work.

    I feel like these videos could be a bit shorter. They don't provide that much information to justify the 23 minute length. Maybe consider splitting the topics into multiple videos, or cut out parts out while editing the video.
    Timestamps in the description could also help people navigate to the parts they are interested in. I personally skimmed through most of the video since I knew quite a bit about styling already, and I'm not interested in all the addons you showcase.
    I really do enjoy this videoseries though. You do something nobody else is doing, and the videos themselves are really helpful to discover new tricks for software I will probably be using for the rest of my life.

    • @Glutanimate
      @Glutanimate  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it. I agree about the video length, but as you might imagine it's mostly a matter of time. It's hard to find a timeslot for editing across all of my other projects and uni. I do plan on improving on this in the future though, even if it's just by restricting the raw footage per video or adding time codes.
      Thanks again for watching and your support!

      I hear you, Mamunur. I think that both tutorial styles have their ups and downs, so I hope I'm striking a good balance between the two with the videos I've been releasing lately.
