On a few occassions during the show Phaedra accepted her fee via cash in various places, like a parking lot. Basically, their making it seem like its ghetto or unprofessional to do that. In the practice of law however, its common and advisible to accept cash especially in criminal cases b/c you never know if you'll get paid, so most lawyers accept cash up front.
