As a student, I would love to hear an hour long lecture from you breaking down a brand identity design and explaining why and how everything works and how it was achieved...but I understand if short form videos are more profitable
It isn't that they are more profitable, it's just longer videos take a long time for me rto make, because I don't just sit in front of a camera or webcam. But thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it :)
I totally agree with the lecture, but if you're looking for something on the short term you may like @abiconnick videos; she goes through full Identity Design processes, but the videos are fairly short so the lecture you mentioned would still be sick.
So nice to have you back!
and great to be back, cheers 👍
Great information, thank you
Our pleasure!
Point 1 is so important. It was the first lesson ive ever learned when i got into this field.
great to hear that bro
I worked at an ad agency where one designer criticized minimalist, functional designs, yet only produced fuzzy trendy aesthetics that didn't align with client needs.
I Really apriciate what you are doing, actually your content is the best in this field !
I recommend to do a video or maybe a series of you designing something FROM A TO Z, explaining what are you doing, why are you doing that and to show us how you make solutions to the problems that come up while designing. A designer POV
thanks for the good suggestion
Not sure if you stayed with your original video editor or got a new one (after your personal update vid), but I’m always blown away on how good the effects and transitions are
I have had 3-4 different editors this year lol
Another informative video. Thanks!
"Intended" has a typo and highlighted it with an underline., however..
lol well spotted
Ooooh look at us eager beavers!!! I'm a noob and taking notes
lol good to hear!
April fools, if u exhibit these symptoms, you are the best graphic designer. People will be hesitant to hire you because your skills are too good
April Fool's was yesterday. This video was posted today, 2 April.
Knew it
Very Informative 😊
Glad you think so!
To that last point, it might be helpful to provide multiple mood boards in the beginning. It helps get your head into the game by considering multiple different styles, but also you are able to communicate a direction to a client with very little actual work done. Essentially making sure you’re both on the same page before investing a ton of time in a deliverable that the client may think misses the mark.
PLEASE I have a question, lovely video editing btw. just want to know long long it took you to make this motion masterpiece?
1:11 intended* typo. Sorry, just some of those tiny details.
Great video.
I would admit that the final point is what I struggle with at times, but most of the time the client would give a requirement and even after brainstorming with the client whenever required they blame me that the final design is not something that they expected.
Situations like these make me think whether I am a good designer or not and makes me lose hope that I can improvise from my mistakes to become a better designer someday.
we can all improve and we all have weaknesses. The key is, some people don't realise their weaknesses 👍
First to watch 🎉🎉🎉
Kudos 👏🏻
Bro we need more practical cases et advices... not only theory please ! but great job
I'm on it!
There is the most important factor designer not mentioned here, The good designer has a design intuition, and this gift cannot be gained by education, or training.
Hey, you, viewer! I wish you luck and success in life. Live life to the fullest😉
“Overemphasis on aesthetics over function”?
In my day that common design pitfall was known as “form over function”.
Remember: KISS (keep it simple, stupid).
❤
💛
Just to clarify the Client's needs are not always what the client wants. We often have clients that want outrages ineffective things that do not reflect the message they are trying to convey.
Then it's your job to explain why what you have in mind works and why it will benefit them. I've made videos on this before, but if they still won't budge, then give them what they want and get paid. It's normally lower level clients who don't listen to what a designer has to say
@@SatoriGraphics We usually say no thank you to the job and move on to the next client. The time consumption on such know it all clients is not worth it.
99th like 🙃
✌
Thank you for Urdu
no worries
I need a video for "warning signs you will never be a good designer" :D
lol that would be demoralising and untrue for a lot of people
The good news: I don't need this video. The bad news: I already know I'm not a good designer...
But with every one of your videos I'm getting a µ better 😉 - so thank you!
lol you've got this, keep learning :)
Arabic sub wooohooo 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
👍👍
Here is a funny not so funny one. my last say 4 clients have not provided a brief, at all. Even after short preliminary discussions based around a brief and explicitly requesting one. How are you supposed to get one, and would you reject the job if the client wont take the time to provide you with a brief? It's really frustrating, especially when you need the work, but this first red flag has popped up.
I also face that kind of Clint
That is annoying. Send them a short questionnaire with 5-7 questions that can help you create a brief yourself.
First 😂
Yes-yes 👍🏻🏅
i am a fan of this channel. you really make quality content and I have learnt a lot about a good design from here. I don't know why you are not getting many views as FluxAcademy or Juxtaposed 😐
Warning sign 5...get an editor to check your spelling. 1:12 ..."should guide the users through the inteded experience" or INTENDED experience.
Or it should be me to check the editors spelling, which I didn't do effectively lol
Intended before you give any kind of advice...
good artists copy, great artists steal. nothing is really original
designers aren't artists 👍
@@SatoriGraphics i love and have been watching your content man but this raises my eyebrows a little bit. care to elaborate
why are the english subs in hindi😪
fixed now hopefully
Hello sir ergently i wanted to talk to you 🙏🙏 its ergent.
You can always shoot me an email via any of my websites
your voice is okay, and your research on the subject is okay. however your execution lacks in a lot of areas. namely: consistency in general, color correction and grading, poor choice and or irrelevant stock footage...typography is all over the place, and... spelling.
Uexercises before you give any kind of advice...
Whatever you design, client will change. Dont be serious about design bulllshit. It doesnt work
When you work for low tier clients, yes
@@SatoriGraphics i work for people from everywhere in world with all budget types, have 7 years of experience. Truth is client and boss at job do not care about color theory or anything technical. They just want fast and change everything. Even if it is based on user reasearch and target customer
I don't agree that the burger place website is a good example of not emphasising aesthetics over function. It doesn't seem to have a lot of function.
If I am a potential customer I'm going to visit the website to find out the answer to the following questions:
1. Where is this place?
2. Is it open right now? (If not; when?)
3. What's on the menu?
I would be less interested in the "playful humorous vibes" or cute cartoons of people juggling burgers. That's aesthetics, not function.
