I want to teach third grade next year I currently teach first grade not sure if it’s the same for you but I’m in the state of Arizona and third graders are where they start state testing. Do you have any advice for that? Should I stay away from third grade just because of State testing, I feel like third grade would be a perfect fit for me. Please let me know your opinion.

I taught 5th for two years and this is my second year in 3rd, so I've always administered state testing. I don't mind it at all. There's of course a push to do well on it but we just do our best and that's all we can do! If you're interested in 3rd, definitely try it out and don't let state testing hold you back!

@@HaileyTeaches thank you so much for replying I think third grade would be the perfect fit for me because I would have the students I had during my first year of teaching because they will be in third grade next school year but also I just think that the kids are a little bit older, but still young, so I think it would be so much funbut yeah that’s what I’m afraid of is the pressure but at the same time like you said I can only do my best

Yes I say definitely go for it!! It was a big adjustment for me coming from 5th, but I really love 3rd grade content. I am still getting used to the age developmentally, but it’s a really fun grade! 🙂
