看到獸醫助護的招聘廣告，可以天天對着貓狗工作，但又不用求考取寵物相關知識證書，你會不會對這份工作心動？但究竟獸醫助護的工作範圍是甚麼，與獸醫的工作有甚麼分別，就讓記者到愛護動物協會的灣仔中心，當一天的見習獸醫助護，看看這份工作有多筍。
獸醫助護會輪流到不同部門輔助獸醫，例如手術部、門診部、醫院等，記者一大早就先到手術部實習。

Kinda surprised that vet nurse doesn't need certificate in HK, cuz in Aus, UK, etc... most vet nurse require certificate/ graduate from some nursing course

This show really should explain: there are different levels of "nurses" 🤦🏻♀️.
There are vet office assistants that are "kennel staff", and didn't go to any schooling for vet related.
Then there are vet assistants who took a 6 month course. They know how to properly handle an animal, & would help the vets hold the pet during an exam or minor procedures.
Finally, The real nurses, "vey technicians" go to school for 2 to 4 years!
Technicians are always in the back, most clients wouldn't see them. They are the nurses who take the blood samples, run the lab tests, do the dentals, monitor anesthesia etc.
So a lot of times, the "nurses" that pet owners get to see out front, are usually the kennel staff, or office assistants. So yes, a lot of them won't be able to answer medical questions.
Its kind of like... 🤔...
Going into a restaurant and asking the server or janitor about what exact ingredients are in the dishes. They don't know! That's because you're asking the wrong person 🤣!
Next time, if a pet owner has any medical questions, they can ask to speak with the technician or the vet.

You made a BIG mistake in the very beginning. Your video is about the routine of a VET ASSISTANT, but you used the term vet nurse. VET NURSE or VET TECHNICIAN is NOT the same as vet assistant. To be a vet nurse/tech you need to take a diploma course or in some countries a bachelor course, and be qualified or registered.
PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH PROPERLY AND KNOW YOUR TERMS BEFORE SHOWCASING TO THE PUBLIC.
I am not pleased at all you used the tern vet nurse. It's very offensive and disrespectful to real vet nurses.
However, you showed well in what a vet assistant would do in their job.
I dont think Hong Kong has any sort of veterinary tech school, probably reason why vet has to do tech work and also explain why the pay is so much lower for VA. It feels being register / licensed veterinary tech is more so something that required in Australia / Canada (where I am currently) and the state, outside of these countries I am unsure.

獸醫助理學這科很難讀，外國收生嚴，英文、科學和數學合格外，最致命入學考試，因為再進修成為獸醫（普通科），跟隨再考進修分科成為專科獸醫，同醫科無分別，不單純工作。

平時除非係有傷口／處理傷口 or 排泄物等先會戴手套
手套除非係每睇完一個都換，否則唔見得會乾淨過洗手

如果係打預防針（疫苗），流程一般都係先檢查完冇問題先會抽針
常用既混合疫苗都係兩瓶：一瓶液體另一瓶粉劑，混合成一支再打
大部份混合後／已抽出來既疫苗或藥物都會有保存問題，所以確定要用既時候先會抽
