After playing KOF Heroines first before finishing XIV's team stories, I deadass thought Kukri left early in his team's ending to get on with his harems.
Who knows, It could follow any ending. But one thing is certain, Verse absorbed the souls of fallen fighters and Ash came back, who we though was wiped from reality.
Ash slowly but surely became my favorite character in KOF. I started with 2002 went back to play 97 - then I played the last saga. When I played XI Shingo was easily my favorite, but Ash had a certain ugliness about him that made him cool. This later turned into a lack of desire to be a cool lead character - which was awesome. I mean he sacrificed edginess to become - That! His design in XII and XII made him look kind of trappy, but somehow this made his character complete. It sounds wierd but it's hard for me to explain.

You're missing a few endings. You get special endings for beating Story Mode with special teams. Like using the "Beautiful Hair Team" (Athena, Kula, Nakoruru), Hero Team (Kyo, Iori, Shun'Ei), or old Korean team (Kim, Chang, Choi). Example i.imgur.com/xFKTKXH.jpg
So what I pieced together is Orochi might come back and bring those who died with him(return of new faces team, Vice and Mature, and even the non existent ash crimson? ).
No, he can't resurrect people (Vice and Mature are still just spirits like in XIII) but he was captured by Verse. Verse captured a bunch of souls from different times and on his defeat all those souls scattered. Its why Ash Crimson is there, along with Leona's real father.
Xanadu should hook up with Hugo. I feel they would get along nicely, with Xanadu calling him a potato. Hugo associates potatoes with positive attributes.
The storyline is impressive but it will be better if SNK adopt Blazblue and Guilty Gear's way of telling the story instead of putting endings of each team of "what if' having the victory title as this might confuse which team ending is considered "canon", I meant for the console versions. It might not be an issue for some fans to know which ending is "canon". Also considering that Shun'ei is the current protagonist of the latest arc, he should have more of a story focus, though other characters need to have important equal roles and parts to play in terms of story. This will be a good change in pace, but team endings should still be implemented as closures in their parts.
As much as I love Ash, I really hope he doesn't come back, it would make the whole ending of XIII completely pointless and he doesn't need to be in the series any longer. hopefully the other dead characters don't return either, it would suck if the past games got redconned :(
Maybe it would make up for literally deleting the "protagonist" after his saga ended. I mean, K' was still mildly relevant to the plot after his saga ended, so are Kyo and Iori up to now.
I get the idea we'll be seeing significant characters past further from Verse's remains. Scattered then their power dispersed in defeat to be collected into a greater strife to come. Incidentally Xana's wild ravings relate to the concept a bit. I think he only lives now too see it's glory. Meanwhile we should be pondering why Chang salutes to one of the IKARI WARRIORS in one of their story intros. That I didn't even see coming.
It's a bug from earlier games where Leona would salute Chang before the match starts, but not Ralf. Probably something where Ralf and Chang's code was swapped or just mistyped. In KOF XIV it's basically SNK leaning into the meme, and it's even brought up in KOF All Stars' Valentine event.
I wonder why SNK took the time to put voices on all the characters interactions on the intro fights and winner screen while they didn't dub the endings that have less content.
With Yashiro returning too, so we may see the New Face Team again, perhaps Orochi is still around and we may hope to see Rugal again. Imagine the possibilities.
Given how Ash is involved, I expect to see Elizabeth make a comback. Possibly with a Face Heel. She is the only one who remembers KOF 2003, XI and XIII as it did, in universe.
I more interested with Maxima say about "Most of those individuals have records past competitions, but some dont have at all" If this true, it will be great if we see SNK bosses like Amakusa shiro or others. I mean we did see nakoruru in the game because of Verse inteference right?
Another World ending is bittersweet because the rights to Love Heart were sold to another company 2 years after KoFXIV came out and now she's in the same retcon hole as K9999... 😔 Still, I hope Another World Team returns in XV and it's used for guest characters from other fighting games!

You're missing a few endings. You get special endings for beating Story Mode with special teams. Like using the "Beautiful Hair Team" (Athena, Kula, Nakoruru), Hero Team (Kyo, Iori, Shun'Ei), or old Korean team (Kim, Chang, Choi). Example i.imgur.com/xFKTKXH.jpg
those are special artworks you get for finishing arcade mode with said teams, like in older kof's

So what I pieced together is Orochi might come back and bring those who died with him(return of new faces team, Vice and Mature, and even the non existent ash crimson? ).
No, he can't resurrect people (Vice and Mature are still just spirits like in XIII) but he was captured by Verse.
Verse captured a bunch of souls from different times and on his defeat all those souls scattered. Its why Ash Crimson is there, along with Leona's real father.
I never knew Benimaru's hair is down like that..I know his upstanding hair is due to the electricity but I thought it has always looked like that.

The storyline is impressive but it will be better if SNK adopt Blazblue and Guilty Gear's way of telling the story instead of putting endings of each team of "what if' having the victory title as this might confuse which team ending is considered "canon", I meant for the console versions. It might not be an issue for some fans to know which ending is "canon". Also considering that Shun'ei is the current protagonist of the latest arc, he should have more of a story focus, though other characters need to have important equal roles and parts to play in terms of story. This will be a good change in pace, but team endings should still be implemented as closures in their parts.

As much as I love Ash, I really hope he doesn't come back, it would make the whole ending of XIII completely pointless and he doesn't need to be in the series any longer. hopefully the other dead characters don't return either, it would suck if the past games got redconned :(

I get the idea we'll be seeing significant characters past further from Verse's remains. Scattered then their power dispersed in defeat to be collected into a greater strife to come. Incidentally Xana's wild ravings relate to the concept a bit. I think he only lives now too see it's glory.
Meanwhile we should be pondering why Chang salutes to one of the IKARI WARRIORS in one of their story intros. That I didn't even see coming.
It's a bug from earlier games where Leona would salute Chang before the match starts, but not Ralf. Probably something where Ralf and Chang's code was swapped or just mistyped. In KOF XIV it's basically SNK leaning into the meme, and it's even brought up in KOF All Stars' Valentine event.

Another World ending is bittersweet because the rights to Love Heart were sold to another company 2 years after KoFXIV came out and now she's in the same retcon hole as K9999... 😔
