Pay to upgrade a building so they can rip you off on the conversion rate…effectively slowing down your overall progression. Yes…you may need that rare gas today…and converting your rare ore may sound good…but tomorrow you will need that ore and you will be effed!!
Speaking for myself as f2p, I progress at a steady rate (Ops 53, Corvus going to T5, able to handle all my dailies without issue). I really don't need to start pushing my faction reps as they are moving on up at a similar steady rate to my Ops/Ship progress. The syndicate sourcing sounds good, I need as much of that as I can. The material converter looks promising too. But a new loop, new currency etc? Meh.
I’m not a 3* player anymore but the material converter could really help that group catch up more quickly, if that is Scopely’s goal. Currently, events pay out 50% rare materials for all uncommon 3* material payouts, but most upgrades only require ~20% rare for every uncommon you spend. Because of this, 3* players in the current economy can build up a substantial excess of rare materials that they can never feasibly use. A 3* rare -> uncommon converter could help bump these players into 4* more quickly. I’m not deep enough into 4* to know how this converter will impact my game personally. As for the arc, I’m not excited but willing to wait and see. The description of the hostiles doesn’t automatically imply a month two new ship, which is something positive. Of course, it could always still happen…
Interesting, I am ops 40 and am interested to see how this rolls out. I hope it's smoother than past arcs, but I will find out Tuesday at arc launch. 😂😄
So the new ship will be a timeship, I expected that for quite some time. At least it would be a canon ship but I already see it being another boring one-trick pony. PS: gimme a borg sphere, I wanna use a holding beam to farm ships for stuff via assimilate. Would also be cool if you could slowly drain bases with it and getting stronger with time. I am giving you free ideas here ( well you can gimme something back for it, I wont mind)
There is so much more now compared to 3 or 4 years ago. So many things to try to accomplish. So many ships that I still don't have. Pay ! Pay ! Pay ! Scopley is killing this
I'd rather see scopely fix some off the issues with the game first, rather than add some new stuff that probably will slow things down more. Less lag on Waves and Arenas, for example. Fix some of the persistent visual glitches too.
I'm concerned that bundling officers together is a way to arbitrarily increase the price of the bundle as a whole or has RNG on which officer you get between the two. Not keen on that. I know the argument will be "Transporter patterns" but at the moment Transporter Patterns don't offer officers that I want like Five of Eleven, Janeway, the voyager rare officers, or the enterprise-e rare officers. And considering Five of Eleven has been MIA in transporter patterns for longer than other officers that came out after her... There's no telling if any of the officers I want will ever be added before they're obsolete. Also, 100% agree on the IA. They better not treat the IA like the Mantis comp.
IA building was nice, but lets be real IA removed 4 loops (Vi'dar and Talios are the same loop at the end of the day so while the 2 of them make 5 things in the IA it 4 loops.) They added 9 loops in 2024. New loops are still out pacing removing old loops and way to high a rate. Yes I get the game needs new content and new things for people to do, but why can Scopely not be like other games. A major new thing ever 4-6 months, with the time between the new loops work on actually fixing and improving old loops. There is a lot they could expand on in the current loops that would be new content without adding new grinds, and the whales would still pay to get it done right away. My alliance just had a 70, the latest in a several whales who left the game because it is becoming all about new loops, more play time, more spend, and more bugs not being fixed. They are going to drive off all the whales at this rate, and then the game will go into a slow death spiral, and it is such an easy change to make going back to the old days where a we only had 3 new loops a year, and other content drove the spending.
I don't know if Rep gain is a thing that really requires a whole new loop, faction, and hostiles to address. I don't grind ships every day and just went to Ops 51, but already have bought all the BPs for the 53 Rom and almost all I need for the 53 Klingon ships.
I would hope - though not expect - that a ship parts conversion could/would be next given that a-not-inconsiderable number of players are running up a parts wall than a mats wall - especially for 4* and 5* rare parts.
Sounds like they are moving in the right direction, now we just need a filter or a trade-in on old currency (ideally both) I would love a filter to exclude all old currencies so I can see more quickly those I need
I think so far it sounds nice. Yea it's a new currency, but as someone who has left for a long time and come back I think being able to aquire some of the old currency with a new loop is pretty awesome! For me, the telling factor will be the rewards overall.
i dunno if anyone has done a vid on all the current loops even with the 5 that have been added in the IA there still feels like there is still alot to do

It would be very Scopely to take something that will obviously become a meme within the STFC playerbase and turn it into the opposite. Scopely in recent years have had a habit of starting really slowly when it comes to *good* content so perhaps this will be the year they turn it around? I'm looking forward to this arc and now I need to go watch Year of Hell again...
I’d rather Scopely took a month off New junk and FIXED things first. Maybe fix lag, crashes and the Many, Many, Many bugs. Maybe fix the periodic purple squares around mining nodes that have been an on off problem for Years.
OMG!!! Not another faction store!!!! Not liking it at all. As for the material conversion, it be great if they also let us convert our common material into uncommons and rares. I wish they fix some of the broken stuff in the game instead of bombarding us with so many new mechanics that most likely will be broken in some way. Like the IA collecting, anyone notice that it does not always gives us transporter patterns and just shows the picture of the officers with a red 0 instead? The same thing happens when I pull for the fleet commander and instead of those dust parts I just get the officer pic with the red 0. So I don't get the transporter pattern nor do I get those dust particles to collect. In honor of below decks ending, I was hoping they give us the ISS Cerritos or at least a new ship skin or maybe even a sovereign class Cerritos.
I want an outlet for old useless ship BP's and miscellaneous materials, mirror sigils, tribbles, riker tokens, 3D chess pieces, the list goes on for random nonsense I have. 20,000 blueprints for kehras, vahklas, and kumaris, 3,000 for the horizon, and thousands more that are worthless to me
more things added that i really think about quiting the game....i spend 2 hrs a day to do all the loops and refinery, etc....i'm a working man....i like the game a lot....but adding more "clicks" makes me wanna quit the game.....and i play for 6 years....seriously Scopely?

this will be interesting for sure. Still working to unlock voyager in the IA store, but it's a long grind away
I have well over 577k uncommon g5 ore, being able to convert any of that to rares would be awesome!
The exchange is interesting, and if they letting players trade up to next level of materials how many primes became free to play at lower ops?
So do I need to max out my Voyager now?
so this new trade mechanic I will have to look at more, if it lets you jump from something like 3* Epic to 4* uncommon this may end up with more people mining lower grade
Need a way to trade materials up also, need a way to do same for ship parts. Need a way to trade old currency that was earned ! So many old currencies. it's impossible to navigate it in inventory. We should get something for unused currency we could not spend too little to buy anything.
I want to convert unc g5 ship parts to rare g5 ship parts. When?
whats 1 year of hell more if you already had 5
6*!
As a lvl 45, can I trade up to 5* mats to unlock the primes? Or can you only trade up a grade once you're reached that grade?
is that new building going to have daily special parts in claims or limited ? i will reserve judgement till the arc starts
I was confused. Do you mean the Year of ****** events?
so with that bein said, the new specialty ship for the new hostiles comin in feb/mar
Here we go again.... yay..🤦♂️
Fix the Friken game before moving into new areas.
i get taxed enough in RL.
Need more ship parts refined sourcing not broken parts they're such a bottleneck
Give 9 to get 5 materials?
Didn't we just finish a year of hell?
The name ALONE gives me dread.
Looks interesting
It would be very Scopely to take something that will obviously become a meme within the STFC playerbase and turn it into the opposite.
Scopely in recent years have had a habit of starting really slowly when it comes to *good* content so perhaps this will be the year they turn it around? I'm looking forward to this arc and now I need to go watch Year of Hell again...
It’s a TVA reboot 😂
LLAP
I’d rather Scopely took a month off New junk and FIXED things first. Maybe fix lag, crashes and the Many, Many, Many bugs. Maybe fix the periodic purple squares around mining nodes that have been an on off problem for Years.
field training - its been broken for many of us for MONTHS
Never gonna happen
What happened to the simple game of 5 years ago? 😔
got updated, like any game that wants to stay around would do... Imagine playing the same exact game all these years from 5 years ago.
New ship next month?
Why did they start DTI at level 30, but you needs OPS 42 to Unlock it?!?!?!!?!?!?
Pretty quick Rev !
Thanks! I really appreciate it.
@ haha thankyou for being so quick ! Really appreciate your effort for the community!
The IA claim all is broken, you need to claim them individually or you won't get the patterns.
@@kevink6265 thanks, I hate scopely.😝
I'm curious how scoply is doing with new members joining stfc. Maybe is just me but the game feels like in decline
HOW ABOUT WE FIX THE LAG FIRST????
when did STFC not become about Star Trek? Seems like we are drifting further away
year of hell is quite literally, star trek?
I want an outlet for old useless ship BP's and miscellaneous materials, mirror sigils, tribbles, riker tokens, 3D chess pieces, the list goes on for random nonsense I have. 20,000 blueprints for kehras, vahklas, and kumaris, 3,000 for the horizon, and thousands more that are worthless to me
Like!
Thanks for the like!
looks like another loop while we still have alot already adding another one im not fond of that tbh
Haven't played since July, worth coming back?
Yup, I think they've made some great additions.
more things added that i really think about quiting the game....i spend 2 hrs a day to do all the loops and refinery, etc....i'm a working man....i like the game a lot....but adding more "clicks" makes me wanna quit the game.....and i play for 6 years....seriously Scopely?
Agreed. I seriously doubt I'll still be in this game by the end of 2025.
I don't know how many times I have to tell people. They are *not* going to stop adding new content. Play at your own pace.
another F'n loop
one temporal credit pull will take me 3 months to do. There is no reason for me to do this arc
how bout give me a better uc and rare ship mats drop rates. tired of getting commons.
What is it with Americans and no taxation without representation
Tax is acceptable, as long as it isn't a tariff; all is Okay 🤣🤣🤣
I chuckled
I just stopped touching any new content. Its very overwhelming at times. Lets see if It'll be a headache or a nice patch to the problems. I still love the game and the players though. 😊 🖖
It is definitely overwhelming, but it's up to you what you want to tackle!
