This was the first time I placed a futures bet on one of those "next coaches" props. I'd been tempted to over the years, but figured I'd rather put money on real games. However, this was such a guarantee that it was practically free money. Same with Hamlin "winning" NFL comeback player of the year

All of this "Justin has to take the next step" has it backwards. The Chargers defense has been bottom 3 in the NFL his entire NFL career. He has spent most of his time running for his life with no protection. His WRs are usually injured or old or not fast enough, and he has had absolutely no running game or TE available. It's a miracle he's done what he did. Any other QB and they'd have lost by a hundred points. And this nonsense about "every ball is hard and flat" -- just wrong, wrong, wrong. He can dip it into wherever. He can throw with touch and flair. He can do off-platform stuff that's Mahomesque. You've clearly not watched Justin Herbert play - just seen random highlights.

Chargers needed a coach that could elevate them. Someone to yell them when they made mistakes. Someone to tell them what to do. Staley wasn’t ready. Staley couldn’t help Herbert improve his game. Imagine this you are a young QB and your coach has less experience than you in the NfL how is that gonna help you? Staley’s chargers always felt short on the key moments.. this is a culture change. Monumental move for the chargers. Not expecting them to be among the best next year, but this is a long term project. And Jim can turn this franchise around like he did so many times before with other teams he coached in the past at pro football or college level

He can always improve but it's crazy that he still finished 5th in QBR, added nearly the same total EPA as Tua & Goff & he played 4 and half less games this year.

Mike Williams and Khalil Mack are going to be cap casualties this year, and possibly Joey Bosa as well, so there will be a lot of dead cap space on the books for 2024. In 2025 though, I expect great things, especially with a guy like Nabers or MHJ (hoping the Cards lose their minds and pass on him) as the pick in this year's draft.

I like the positivity around this hire now Herbert better win the Super Bowl next year we don’t want to hear anymore excuses because none of you had any for Russell Wilson as soon as Sean Payton got hired the news was “How much pressures on Russell Wilson” yall wouldn’t let that men sleep until he got bench everybody on TV was on his case let’s keep that same energy Pat mcafee I seen what u said about the hate on Purdy but nobody hating on Purdy because we all accept the fact that he was an MVP candidate this year we all did until he threw those 4 ints against Baltimore if that game had went the other way around we would’ve crush Lamar so yall need to stop crying now that folks figured u out and holding your faves accountable… Pressure on Herbert next season not Jim Harbaugh

Anthony Lynn got fired because the Chargers defense couldn't stop a JV team--but offensively, Herbert was brilliant in that system. So I disagree with Orlansky a bit. It wasn't that Justin had the wrong system, it was because his defense was garbage. Now Herbert is banged up and will be learning his 3rd offensive system. I hope he can find some consistency and the O-line can protect him.

I wholeheartedly disagree, I think this is a bad marriage! First off, Justin Herbert is an introvert and so is Coach Harbaugh and he gets a lil weird.. That’s why the Vikings passed on him, now he is in a division with Sean Payton, Andy Reid, And NOW A YOUNG ENERGETIC COACH IN ANTONIO PIERCE! SO ITS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT AND DIFFICULT THIS TIME AROUND! JUST WATCH!! 🤦🏾‍♂️
