Great stuff!! I'm trying to learn the guitar but my fingers are like big fat sausages. It's a struggle to press on just one string when I'm playing. Perhaps I should consider the bass guitar. Ristridi you inspire and demoralize me at the same time!
High quality cover and outstanding performance and guitar tone! I bought this guitar a few weeks ago. I have some hard times to find the right guitar tone because of the passive Duncans. I own several guitars but with active pickups. Would you share any info how you build your guitar tone - amps, effects, low, mid and high settings etc.? I see that you are using Kemper.
Hey there! Have you only had active pickups before? Passive ones tend to be more dynamic than active ones, which sometimes means that maybe you have to adjust your playing style a bit - but of course it's not so easy to say over the internet. What do you think is the problem with your sound? What do you dislike? There's a lot of factors that could make a difference - from your pick ( I use very pointy ones) to your strings, to your playing style, to your amp, to the settings of your amp... I usually try to find a basic sound that I like first and then build on that...but probably the "biggest" learning for me was using a very sharp >1mm pick - really strange at first but it really made my sound much more "attacky" Also, you should know that the guitar tone is in fact not everything - I think about how it "molds" into the rest of the context of a song...if I would play that guitar track without the backing track, it would probably sound a bit boring to listen to :)
Do yo repeat a lot of times till you get it? But I mean really a lot... Im struggling a bit with speed, slow I can play it perfectly with good form, I repeated a lot in slow tempo, but when I try to speed up I play sloppy. Maybe give more time at fast tempos?
There is always repetition and practice involved or course, but I only practice those parts slowly that I have a problem with technically - after some time, you kinda gain a feel for the instrument and it's more about remembering little details than every single movement for most of the song... And of course the structure :) Nowadays I only start recording a cover when most of the song goes "automatically" already without thinking too much about what I'm playing and more about HOW I'm playing it, if that makes any sense to you... It's like with everything you learn, everytime you do a new project, you kinda put all you ever learned to use to do this new project - most of the time it doesn't feel like learning sth from scratch, like a toddler, it's more like putting the experience to use. Of course, if the song is very hard technically, I will need a lot of preparation because I'm kind of out of routine at this point. And I did put a lot of practice hours into the more ambitious songs, those were weeks or even more than a month of practice, with focus on only getting that song right :)
So I guess what I'm trying to say is, it isn't like you always have to put down a rigorous practice routine for the rest of your life, it's of course beneficial if you always want to pull off the most technical shit, but once you've got a good technique down you can kind of get back "into shape" more quickly even after a longer pause... It's not like it's always super difficult, it all becomes easier over time. But I'm the beginning, it's very hard. Kinda like riding a bike, you don't forget that either if you've learnt it and done it some times before :)
@@ristridi yeah, thanks, nice answer, all make sense, thats the thing, I got hard songs memorized but in slow tempos, maybe give more time and patience till I get automatically. Viele danke.
God I love this song...and you did proper homage to it! Thanks!
