      Yep. I'm using an old generic LGA1155 (3rd and 4th gen i5s and i7s) motherboard. Probably made in the same FoxConn sweatshops as the legit models. It works great with my i7 3770 and GTX 1060 6GB, but I wouldn't bother with the integrated graphics.

      @@natejennings5884dang thats the best cpu for that motherboard, sucks for when you gotta upgrade cuz youll need a whole new pc, a Great reccomendation is to get a deskmeet x300, its a great small form factor pc enclosure, it comes with a am4 asrock motherboard (supports 5000 series amd) and a 500w power supply, all you gotta do is hardwear swap and buy a new cpu, i suggest a ryzen 5 5600x, has 6 cores 12 threads for cheap (i got mines a year ago for 113$ usd with stock cooler) and all i did was throw my 1060 6gb in it until i could afford a rtx 3060ti from dell (i only paid 230$) it was nice because i could record gameplay with a cpu that had legroom to use 100% of my gpu and record while only using 50-70% of cpu usage, even upgrading my cpu is in the 30-40% because i just record with my gpu now, thats the best upgrade path i can reccomend because its a mini pc that has alot of ports and upgrade availablility for cheap, my total build cost was under 500$, took a little while to save and snipe parts for cheap but it was 1000% worth it

    This thing works waaay better with an overclock. When I got my "new" fx6300 system in early 2020 I was stuck with this thing, it couldn't even run TF2 or DoD source untill I bumped up the clock to 700MHz. That's 2x its base clock, and it was stable for over 6 months until I got a 1030 for a decent price.

    Mate... the only reason I recently built my B450 / Ryzen 5600x systems is because my old system just stopped working... a 2006 Biostar 8100 M2+ TE mobo, AMD 465 ( I think) 3x 3.3Ghz 2008.... 8GB DDR 2, and yes, ok - a 1050 Ti 4GB... that was the systems saving grace!... But that old system did me very well until very recently. I've kept my GFX and HDD's (not an SDD in sight!) and hopefully my Frankenstein build will work out. I'm booting at less than 20 seconds, so can't really see the point in moving to SSD's - I have 6x 640GB 7200rpm Barracuda's they're fine for now. Game level loading is usually around 4-8 seconds... I know it could be quicker, but... pffff... not fussed. However, the new system - built this week (and already out of date).. MSI Tomahawk MAX II, 32GB Corsair Ram (4x8GB - but only at 3000Mhz - it was cheap, OK!?!) Ryzen 5600X, and a new 4K Samsung monitor. The rest is re-used parts... 6x 640GB 7200rpm HDDs, a 1050ti 4GB OC gfx card, fans, and all that.... I need a decent sound system though... My next purchase will be keyboard, mouse and headphones / speakers. I am definitely a "Best bang for buck" guy so all recommendations well received... I don't normally spend any money on myself - all of the above is... very out of character. \but I figure I'll be using this PC for at least 10 years, maybe more.... So I am indulging....

    If you run on old hardware like this, the components won't perform as well as it running on windows xp/vista/7 compared to windows 8/8.1/10/11. The newer version of windows aren't able to utilize some of the old hardware features because of how old their drivers are. Example: when I had a windows 7 laptop with Intel hd 3000 I was able to use open gl but when I updated to windows 10, open gl was gone because of the drivers were old. Thereon, some games ran at lower fps and some didn't even run at all.

    Actually I played PC games with framerates much worse than this for 5 years when I was a kid. the integrated GPU was ATI Radeon 7000. back then I did not know anything about fps and thinking that PC is the fastest gaming machine in the world when I bought it.

    This setup deserves a re-visit but with a GPU. Maybe a 1650, 1050ti, or even king of cheap- the infamous RX580.

    0:17 My old build was basically the same thing hahha. I ended up building am 18-core xeon system a while back and it was surprisingly fast for me to forget how much of a giant steamy piece of shit the 8350 and the whole FX platform was hahahah

    • @iamatlantis1
      @iamatlantis1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      rofl, hey now don- wait what am I saying, the FX platform was in fact a steamy pile of crap. I had an 8370 running on one of those gigabyte motherboards he was talking about he used to have. Any intensive gaming and the VRM's would over heat over like an hour or two and crash. I had an fx4300 in the same system before so when I got the 8370 I was pretty happy for like a year or so. It wasnt until X-mas of 2020 that I bought myself an HP prebuilt for 400 bucks with a 1650 super and an R5 3600. These days I ALSO have an aging Xeon system with an e5 2678 v3 (12 cores) and an i9 10850k. I finally stopped using budget stuff. For a while I held on to that 8370 and motherboard as my emergency back up pc. Then about 1.75 years ago right before the GPU Apocalypse I put it back together in a system with my old gtx 1060 3 gb and sold it. Right after that the prices of GPU's went through the roof however and I could have gotten twice the money out of it. Oh wellz.

    The lowest resolution in CSGO can be 640×360. You have to set native res down to 360p and lock CSGO settings to Fullscreen beforehand for that. Played like that for years on an Intel HD 4000 with constant 60+

    i used to have a similar performing motherboard graphics, the amd hd 4200 which is pure lies because of hd it has nothing, used to get around 40-50 fps on minecraft 1.12.2 1024x768 at the lowest settings with optifine, and csgo... was a nightmare but finally after suffering with it i upgraded to an rx 580 4gb a few days ago and it was worth every penny

    This is desktop motherboard integrated graphics. Not fair to compare it to a real GPU card imo. FWIW- I had a Phenom II X4 820 Dell Inspiron 570 MT with ATI 4200 motherboard graphics, and it was good enough to play some games. It played Amnesia: The Dark Descent like a boss. But that must have been a really easy game to run. I added a $25 used 9800 GT and was able to play Metro 2033 (had to use the adapter mod to power it with the Dell PSU). That was a great cheap refurb PC.
