I'm icelandic myself and I absolutely love it when they tried to pronounce the names.😂. The band is made of 3 males and the person they thought was a woman was actually a man. In the beginning of the song I absolutely loved the Male's reaction his reaction was shocking and I liked the reaction. When he said hatrið mun sigra he actually said it perfectly for a person who is not from Iceland. Fun fact: that song actually landed in 10th place (last place) after moving on from the first performance.

I would say a lot of Icelandic music is very soft like Vök, Kiasmos, Ólafur Arnalds, Sóley and Sigur Rós. One of Hatari's band member is also a member of Vök. Really soft music. Then there are other bands and singers like Gus Gus, Kaleo, Elína Torrini etc. etc. etc. I don't know any other band in Iceland like Hatari. There might be some without me knowing. I didn't know about Hatari before they entered Eurovision. By the way, I'm learning Korean so I loved seeing your reaction. I'm not good enough to understand you without subtitles though. Not yet anyway.

I'm impressed how open they were to this kind of art style. If I showed this to my grandparents in eastern Europe, they would probably pray over me and my sins and tell their entire village I'm a satanist. How funny that people so far away who have no previous experience with the genre are more mature to see the meaning behind it but the residents of actual countries participating in Eurovision can't stomach it.

I think you guys mean "punk" not "funk" in your captions. As for the type of music Icelanders listen to I wouldn't say that this is your typical Icelandic music, but Iceland has a very diverse musicians despite the nation being very small. We have metal bands, rappers, pop music and all in between.
