- Top 10 freshman to watch for going into their sophomore year.
We count down from 10 - 1 and briefly talk about each players year and potential going forward.

You are sleeping on Tessa Johnson
I'm biased toward South Carolina (alum and long time fam) but I do have to say --- I am not buying the Tessa Johnson at #10 thing. She easily goes over Ice Brady S'Mya Nichols, and Alyssa Latham - easily. And here's why. She plays with such an even keel. Nothing rattles her as the ice coarses through her veins. She can score at all 3 levels, and her defense improved markedly over the course of the year. Finally - she has tasted the ultimate victory. She knows exactly how to win and do so in a DAWN STALEY system - and she will be supported by a team returning 90% of its undefeated Natty team and loading up with a stellar recruiting class to support. The splitting of play time HELPS (not hurts) her because she has the opportunity to absorb the game, get mentally right every time, and stay fresh. If you translate her scoring average over 40 minutes, she's averaging nearly 25ppg. She is a student of the game and values her bench time (as evidenced by her own words describing her sophomore high school season as she sat out with a broken femur). By your logic, Fulwiley should be #9 because of having to split play time - and that clearly makes no sense because even when she's having an off night, she just impacts the game in so many intangible ways.

I think this year’s women’s basketball is gonna be off the chains and I have seen some awesome players emerge. Ready for the season to begin and enjoy the milestones these young ladies will achieve. ❤

Ice Brady hasn’t done enough to be here. She was kind of disappointing last season tbh.

Reagan Beers is a Monster as well, I don't know what year Class she is, but she will be something to watch this year, I can certainly tell you that.

Dude booker should have been higher of course she couldn't score a lot because she ran the point and was a good distributor
Book definitely should have been higher. She won the Cheryl Miller award for best Small Forward while playing point guard for Rori who comes back next season. Playing out of position and still being Big 12 POY and Big 12 Tournament MOP is crazy!! 😎🤘🏽
Good show! What is your take on Chloe Kitts since she enrolled early. Fulwilly is from Columbia she is living her best life winning chips. Looks like a back 2 back 2 back with the crew she has for the next 3 seasons. She will have the keys to the bus after this upcoming season why would she leave. ❤😂

Shade and Arnold are the two sophomores to watch at UConn. Brady is going to be overshadowed by El-Alfy and Strong.
Auriemma just said that in his 40 years at UConn, El-Alfy might be the best player he's ever had -- it's just that the public hasn't seen her yet due to her redshirt. If she's the best he's ever seen, and Strong is there as well, Brady might as well transfer, sorry to say...
Definitely going to be a battle for time
Tessa really should be top 5 but the amount of talent at USC she can't dominate the ball
JuJu will break every Record there is, if she stay healthy. Her an Hanna Hidolgo are the two best players, but Hanna's numbers will go down with Olivia Miles coming back!
And juju numbers will go down even more with Kiki who is a offensive player and the number 1 class of 24 Hannah is definitely best freshman in the country because she’s one of the best defensive and offensive players in the country

3. I've been a UCONN fan since 1991, but Ice Brady over KK & Ash is WILD! Those 2 started all year & were super productive. Also, Ice is gonna have to fight Sara Strong & Jana El Alfy for time this year.
4. Hanna is better than Juju. She is a TERROR on defense.
I always want to add a couple sleeper players that I think will translate to the pros.

Tessa is NOT getting too much HYPE. Tessa would be a starter on any other team all day hands down. The ONLY reason she is coming off the bench is bc she is playing at SC - bc she knows she playing for a CHIP. Please don’t get it twisted. She is not overrated. Matter of fact, Dawn’s second squad would be a starter on any other team. That’s why when the second squad comes in the production turns up a knotch and Dawn is fully confident in them. Tessa is a walking bucket. Put some respect on her name. If the second squad got more minutes, their production would be on point with all the other players getting 30 plus minutes. But we know the girls on the SC team are practicing against 5 star ⭐️ McDonald AA every day and you can’t beat that. We will repeat in the upcoming season.
@shawndellmatthews2647 a player that came off the bench all year & didn't show up for real until the Championship game being featured here over players who started at least the year AND won freshman of the year awards in their conference is CRAZY.
@cornellwatts5939 you must not have read my entire comment. Any coach would snatch up Tessa Johnson in a heartbeat. Don’t get in your feelings. She is a walking bucket and there is no coach in the top 10 AP ranking teams that wouldn’t take her and start her and I stand on that. Tessa is HER. And she belongs on this list. When you are on a team as deep as SC, there is only so many minutes to go around. She was pivotal to our entire season and SC going undefeated. Sit back and enjoy her play this upcoming year as she play a major role in a SC repeat 🏆!
@@cornellwatts5939 The final four is not the only games she balled out. TN,MD, UNC both games, UCONN to name some of the other big games. Ballers know how to show up!

JuJu is the truth. Shade of UConn is the player to watch going into her Sophomore year on that team. In my opinion, bigs like "Ice" Brady take more time to develop.

Or Angel name or Flaujae name. If you not gonna respect them leave them out of the title. If you think Mikaylah Williams will be the 6th best Sophmore in the country youre crazy as hell. He already said she put up 42 as a freshman. After a year of experience what do you think she can do after playing with 2 All Americans and a All Sec player on her team?
