Gonna try it today. 28-33 knots forecast 🎉 update for now, tons of power and steers like a tube! Got only 11.7m height due the gust and rain. (86kg) when wet it behaves weird. Likes to backstall and no steering input then. maybe because the wind dropped rapidly. But so far great kite, steers fast and jumps pretty well!! Cheers
Hi, I learned kiteboarding about a year ago. Now I bought my first foil kite (a soul 15 qm) and this also is because of your videos. Greetings from Vienna (Austria)
@@jon-liampeters3888 the 15m still is the best kite I own. I prefers winds like 8 to 18 knots and it is so easy to depower when the wind picks up. I weigh 88kg and most times use a 160cm board - that's my favorite combo
@@michaelfried7362 thanks for your reply! Super helpful. I have just started kitesurfing and have just gotten a 15m soul this week. I only have inland lakes with gusty or low wind. So you manage with 8 knots? Do you self land your kite ever?
@@jon-liampeters3888 I got my kite 15m Soul, when I was kiting for about 1 year. My homespot is an inland lake with gusty and light winds too. In low winds it is no problem to backstall and selfland. In very gusty and stronger wind I would rather use a landing stick or safety and flag out. But it is always best to have a 2nd person to help you when landing. Here is a link to a landing stick th-cam.com/video/Jrjdc22eoCA/w-d-xo.html I use a metal kite securing stick, which I got from a store for regular kites (Kites not used for kitesurfing), because we have grass land around the lake and you wouldn't be able to get a wood stick into the ground
Our Kite Life Thanks for very quick reply. 😊 Great videos you are making, very good help for beginners like myself. Now I am leaning towards a Soul as my very first kite, much thanks to your videos. Keep them coming 😃 Have a nice weekend!
Ha! I'm not the only one who think Flysurfer Sonic 2 13M is tricky! Can you guys do pro-con on Flysurfer pull-pull bar Vs. cleat trim system? Flysurfer seems to be one of the last manufacturer still using the pull-pull system.
Yellou :) LOL so much kites , I was wondering about speed 4, now after some reserch and yours videos I am looking for soul . can you advise, I am going to buy my first kite, mostly for land and snow, I love skiing, I am woman 70kg, in heart of europe (slovakia) , is better soul 12 or soul 10m ? Have you ever had chance to compare soul with nova? Thank you very much for any advice
What sizes were the guys on? What equivalent LEI would they have been on for the same wind conditions? Just curious as it looked like 12-14m LEI conditions
What do you like about the Soul? I have one foil kite, for it for snow kiting but my LEI kites seem to perform so much better.? Why do you fly it over an LEI's?
The Soul is the best of both worlds - it has a very similar feel to an LEI kite. It turns fast and is quick to respond, but also gives nice and high, floaty jumps that you get with foils. It has great range as well, which works for us because we live in a generally low wind spot but like to travel to high wind places too
I use a 15m Soul and when wind is strong (e.g. 18kts), gusty and turning direction, I struggle to properly secure my kite for a small break 5/10mn without attendance I currently put plenty of sand or weight on the upwind side, and add some on the opposite trailing edge, open the air releases but as wind turns the leading edge moves up, removes the trailing edge sand and the kite starts to flap, the lines to twist, and all become a mess🥴 As you guys have plenty of experience in that kites, what are your recommendations other than nearly packing my kite or move the kite on a wind protected area which doesn’t exist on the middle of the beach??? Thank you anyway for your videos 😎
Thanks! Where we kite we are usually in a wind shadow so don't have that issue but currently in Hatteras winds blow from all directions so I had no choice but to pack it up. It's also good to pack it up to prevent sun damage. Not the answer you want to hear I’m sure, but it will prevent a mess
Thank you for your fair answer!😄 At least if experts don’t have better solution, it is no point for me to search more🥴 I must admit that this function (allowing a secured break with just little sand on) is a clear advantage for LEI kites It would be good to feedback to Flysurfer and let them work to offer a good solution 😎
I've seen someone flying this beast today for the first time at my homespot, this kite' s hangtime and lift is insane!!!I'm gonna get me one of those for sure.(After i rob the bank);-)
So where were the "10m plus jumps"... more like 1.5m to 2.5m... They look good kites but hard to trust a reviewer that admits to bying 9 kites already this year! serial kite swapper ?
you can only do so much if wind is light, which is often the case here in Ontario. If you want to see 10m high jumps from same riders watch this vlog here - th-cam.com/video/yog_gFwRPhs/w-d-xo.html
I bought one too, thanks to this channel. And loving it.
That's awesome! The SOUL is a great kite :)
Thank you so much for uploading more often!! These videos are great
Thank you! We're trying to post every week - some weeks that's easier than others - just depends on wind! :)
Also a 12m here. Just bought me a 8m. Can't wait to try it. Superb kites
Nice! We're thinking our next kite will be an 8 or 10m Soul. Let us know how the 8m is!

I’m gonna be the next one to get a soul going!! Great job Laurie & Никита!!
Thanks Kiryl! You're going to love the SOUL! ;)
Off course, it's got soul! Step it up and discover the magic carpet ride. So much more soul. 🥰

Ahaha I can relate to the guy at the end of the video, looked soo chilly! Canadian kiteboarding at its finest, great edit!
Thanks! Haha yeah, Kiryl tells it like it is :D
Met Nicholas the other day. Thanks for the upload!
Nicholas is awesome :)
Looks like the weather conditions we have in Sweden. May I ask what you are wearing on such days to not freeze your but off?
6/5mm wetsuit + neoprene hoody or a drysuit ...plus 5mm+ booties, gloves, hood or hat 🙂

Don't quote us on this, but I believe that the pull-pull system may be no more....
What bar size do you use for the soul 12m 50cm or 60cm?
We use the 50cm bar on the wide setting for our 12m soul
thanks for the advice.

Haven’t tried the Nova so can’t speak to it. As for which size Soul to select, you’ll want to factor in the wind strength as well.
How much wind did u have. Thinking of buying a soul myself
It was 12-14 knots, and then it started dying. Nice - the Soul is a great kite!
That was more kites that I’ve owned in the last 5 years 😂
Like the NP hoodie.
Yeah, they're great for keeping warm!
What sizes were the guys on? What equivalent LEI would they have been on for the same wind conditions? Just curious as it looked like 12-14m LEI conditions
We were all on 12s. Probably equivalent to 14 meter LEI.

So what bar do you use for a12m?
Like the kites, dont like the bars, I use Cabrinha bars on Flysurfer, works fine.
Dude should have given the new one to the Betty and stayed with her old that he's been wearing and tearing for 6 Months wow!!
Kitecooks 😁
