I do. Loved the beat, but knew after hearing it it wasn't a worthy "comeback" single for Dre. Akon was cool, but I think Nate Dogg, if he was still alive around that time, could've took that track to another level. Once I heard that bubblegum poppy "I Need A Doctor" song with Eminem, I kinda knew we may not get Detox 😂😂😂. These singles just weren't it. I'm not surprised Dre just scrapped the whole project. All the leaks through the years were decent, but Detox would've flopped if they put it out at the time.

i always remember when this song came out.. it was futuristic sounding & i personally liked it.. sounded very electro & not like something Dre made.. but the Music video together with the music made it pass the test..
Kush is the shit…..the video was hard too. That record got me looking forward to Detox and the ish never dropped. My man’s DJ head told me this beat was done in reason. Shout out to DJ head 🙌🏾
So that’s what stressed him out and nothing on the new snoop album caught his ear? Kush was light years hotter than ANYTHING on that missionary album 💯
Most people don’t understand that Dre can actually make instrumentals. But he chooses to work with others. Most of us think of beat making as in Europe… We don’t really get Dre’s concept. In Europe… Where a guy actually makes some beats out of some samples and add some synths or samples on top. In the U.S., they actually use live drummers and musicians to re-create samples - i mean, Dre does that… It’s one thing to work in a bedroom. And another, to be open to working with other people. If i had money, I’d also hire a team of professionals, to inspire me, to jam together.
@@sampleloungethe hook was cool, but not 1st single level. Remember, back then, artists first singles would basically make or break an album. Sounds like Jimmy Iovine was rushing the process, and didn't let Dre figure it out organically. Although searching for a just a'ight hook for 6 months is wild 😂😂😂😂
I really Like the Song, but to be real, that was the First sign that dre was washed, because it was the first time that a Dre Song Had no impact at all.
Dre can actually mix, play bass and piano, and produce. leave puff and Dre in a studio by themselves and only one can come out with a beat worth listening too

Puff and Dre can’t be mentioned in the same sentence. Puff slapped his name on shit while Dre actually PRODUCES records. There’s an inherent difference between beatmaking and producing. You think Quincy Jones played every instruments on Thriller? Lol
Song was forgetable. Khalil's beat was the highlight, however. I think The Game ended up doing a freestyle over that instrumental that I played alot. Alotta those Aftermath piano-based beats that Dre was either doing, or out-sourcing to the likes of Dj Khalil, didn't age well. That Drake "Taylor Made Freesttle" sounded like a Temu version of one of those wooden soul-less beats 😂😂😂
Who tf cares if it aged well or not if most of those Beats are still hard asf Its not like most producers or superproducers (aka just like metro boomin and thats it) of nowadays are even trying to make hard hitting iconic groundbreaking and timeless works for everyone to enjoy

Who else remembers this supposedly being the precursor or first single to Detox
lol yep

under pressure was the initial precursor but a rough mix got released before Dre could finish it. but even his finished version was buns lol
How naive we were 😂
Still bumping Kush till this day, Straight banger🔥
@@BLKSHP 🔥 facts
Now I really want to hear the original beat that DJ Khalil made, with The-Dream’s hook on it!
"Put some Scott Storch keys on it or whatever"… 😂 Missing that old formula huh?
Phahaha.. or get back nottz to do the beat!
Hi-Tek, Mel-Man, Jake One, Focus…, Mr. Porter, Fredwreck. Pinnacle Aftermath Staff!

This is really pulling the curtain back on the wizard

That’s fine. Still a good album

Loved the beat. Didnt really like the hook or song as much
@@TheTeamYDKChannel really? I thought the hook was dope

Man the hook was dope to me too
Prior to the sale everything Dre did was just a beats commercial..
Where can we watch the full interview ?
I really Like the Song, but to be real, that was the First sign that dre was washed, because it was the first time that a Dre Song Had no impact at all.
The worst part, Dre has been too picky over the years that he cannot really see when a track is a banger anymore.
The only time you can call Dre washed is when you can put a track out that the majority of people agree is better than what he's doing...we'll wait.
This guy is BETTER THAN DR.DRE as a Producer BUT HE'LL NEVER GET HIS FLOWERS😢🎉 because he's under dr.dres shadow
How are people shitting on Puff and his crew when Dre has been doing the same thing for years having Scott Dj Quick Khalil and others.

Dre Is Too Much Of A Perfectionist😒 It's Admirable But Annoying....
You can polish a turd but it’s still…. 😢
lazy formulaic shit
It was an okay song and I really mean it when I say it was because it did not really age well.
It's a straight classic. Last good song he put out

@sadgecro Imagine, About Me, Boss Life those Piano type Dre Beats hit if you ask me no lie
Oh wow... how much work and song was mediocre at best
The beat and the video are the best part of the song. The hook was annoying and the verses were highly forgettable.
Dre’s verse was hard in my opinion, his voice tone, flow and delivery was on point.
