@@alfonsrasmus4710 Oh, I'd hate to go through a longer one, but it's a great solution to the problem and far far better than having to crawl in a tiny tunnel.
That pipe-entrance-thingy looks like my worst nightmare.
andrineslife I would go insane within less than half a second and be scarred for life afterwards.
Just imagine the outside guy leaving while you're in, or having a stroke.
There's a place somewhere in the Ukraine that has a pipe similar that has a 1 hour journey through said pipe. Can't imagine that.

andrineslife Me too. Just watching that bit I was saying “no” out loud repeatedly. Wouldn’t go through that thing in a million years.

I bet being in there for long times would really suck. There's still oil seeping out of the walls and that's kinda unhealthy to breathe in.
You could. You'd have to take it through in pieces and reassemble it on the other side, but perfectly doable

Aww Matt I miss seeing you and Tom chatting on the park bench already. There's just something about listening to you two banter as you process some thing you just did. I hope you guys un-blow-it-up some day.
Once I saw this video, I thought this would be exactly what I expected to happen, which is them resurrecting the park bench format but refusing to call it 'The Park Bench'. Instead, none of that, just pointless video footage, with little to no commentary. These kind of videos used to be interesting. Just shows how important the chat was.
When did they blow up? Don't they sit on benches anymore?
If it's inflatable, I hope they blow it back up.
This Hyperloop beta test looks way more promising than the real one.

I love underground places like this, as well as caves. I also think the best sound down there from all 3 videos was Matt's laugh.

This entry/exit system looks MUCH nicer than the torpedo tube emergency escape protocol in submarines
I don't know, according to Tom's video the oil pipes are only 18-inch diameter, most torpedo tubes are at least 21-inch...

I second that relief. I'm very much glad that we're not losing the behind-the-scenes.
There's always more interesting things behind Tom's videos that may not make sense for the video itself, but sure make a lot of sense for those of us that are curious about how one films a neat thing, or interesting sound/lighting challenges, or funny travel stories, etc.
I respect ANY person who can go through that entrance. I have claustrophobia and when I needed an MRI scan on my head to view my brain a few years ago I had to be sedated it was that bad for me, but going through that looks much worse.
I don't have claustrophobia (at least I think I don't), but there's something about being in underground spaces that unnerves me for some reason. It's the feeling of having thousands of tonnes of rock above me that just puts me on edge.
Anyone else thinks that picture at 2:56 looks pretty good? Maybe it's just me, but I think I'll be using that for a while as a wallpaper.

While watching Tom's video I was wondering how the heck they squeezed you through that little pipe. Guess they're bigger than they look. Or maybe you're smaller.

Its not a park bench, but I pleased they are doing something on this channel, great video,
I couldn't help feel watching this, that if the man that pushed you through the tunnel were to have a heart attack or something while you were in the tank (or just bail) you'd have no way of getting back out again... It really needs some redundancy so you can pull yourself through :)
I would imagine it's not impossible to crawl out of there, just very hard and very uncomfortable to do so, and would probably take a lot longer

I’m not claustrophobic, but, imagine the little mechanism to push through the tunnel gets broken and you’re in the middle. Stuck.

How do you know the air was breathable? wouldn't the O2 be leached out by oxidation of any metal or fuel residue?
Makes me miss the park bench but I like this idea of BTS for you two.

Nah. It has handles on both sides.
@@Helveteshit aah, right! There is a metal bar leaning on the inside against the pipe for that purpose i suppose.
@@datnguyenthe8300 I don't think the sled is attached either, you can just pull out the entire thing end flip it around.
I wonder how they guarantee breathable air in those enclosed rooms.
Can't imagine it would be that hard to hammer out that bit of concrete around the entrance pipe. Certainly a price worth paying for getting in a drum kit.
You guys should have brought a bench with you and do a "park" bench video in there.

I think I'm traumatised merely by the thought of going through the tube, let alone watching it. I'm off to find a safe space and to weep fearfully for a while.
