In simple words, the usage of 'env variables' will be, when there will be a need to change them at runtime. Eg. endpoints, passwords, keys from one env to other.

Hi , Thanks for great explanation. Suppose I have application config file which has DB connection string.
1. How we will replace that DB connection string?
2. How to connect azure sql db or on premises db with application running inside pod.

You can use "kubectl describe pod " then you can cross check the image name.
