Hi buddy! Is there a standard height betweeen the strings and the fingerboard? I managed to buy a double bass but I feel the strings to high, so I dont know if I can do something with the bridge or I should get used to them. Hope can you help. Thanks!
Hi, thanks for your question, my setting is E 11, A 8, D 7 G 5mm at the bottom end of the fingerboard. If the strings are higher it feels uncomfortable for me. Thats all I can say. Maybe you should try another bridge. Greetings
Hi Donald, I ve just recognized that my answer was wrong. My bass is laminated!! My mother tongue is not english so I ve translated it wrong. Now I know the meaning if "laminated".Sorry. Hope you re well, all the best.🙋♂️
@@begtotheroots My friend, as well as the great gift you have given us with your lessons, it amazes me that you have undertaken this in a different language to your own. How lucky we are that you are here!
All of these videos are excellent. Thank you for making them. My question concerns the single slap click. I've tried to employ your technique, grabbing the string like an archer would, and then pulling up. However, it tends to work better on the lower strings. How far up do you pull before the release?
Hi Ed9870! Thanks for you comment! To your question of how far I pull: It depends on how loud it should be. Maybe it works better on lower strings because they are a little higher on the fretboard, so your fingers have more space. But I think if you practise a little you will not even think about it. All the best and keep on slapping!!!
Hi. Thank you for the comment. Yes, my mics at that time weren' t well adjusted. But if you listen to the videos audio with headphones or good speakers the sounding notes are good to hear. All the best and thank you for watching!
It's by far the best introduction to the bass I've seen.
Hi Volker, thank you very very much!🙏🙏

Hi James, I think its fine. Its your style!!!
Is him davie504?
No ;) I'm not that good!
It would be so much nicer if the clicking and counting wasn’t as loud... I can’t even hear the notes
